Advanced Car Eye 2.0

Woeful. There's no reason it can't be integrated into the MyBMW app/account and saved to the cloud. It only works with the car running, reatart phone first, no other apps on, Bluetooth off, away from home WiFi... very temperamental for what should be a simple view. People hook doorbells up to their phones FGS, so this should be easy. I love the cam concept, hate the app experience.

The app often fails to open. The wi-fi connection between us the dash cam is very slow if they can be connected at all. Even if connection is established, the video takes ages to be accessed.

Worst app I have ever had misfortune to use. Very slow to show video thumbnails - filter settings to show app stored or eye device stored videos just doesn't work most of the time. Often crashes needing to reboot phone Samsung S21 and Eye!. Never had any such problems with all the other apps on my phone. This app needs some serious work to get it working properly and doesn't deserve the BMW association. I selected the BMW Eye to look good but app let's it down. Pls sort it

This app is over convoluted, isn't as clear as it should be when using it to modify the settings of your camera and, it doesn't contain the manual or link to it. This app seems rushed to tick a "look, you can use your phone with our camera" box without giving you the functionality you would expect. And this is BMW. Why is it so hard to find the files you've saved from the camera to your phone? The app doesn't allow you to export the files and they don't show up as media on my handset.

I have had the Car Eye for nearly a month. With a little patience and following of the instructions it works well and is easy to use. I have found that if you connect your smartphone (Samsung) via the app to the Car Eye out of reach of your regular Internet signal, then the WiFi works fine. The camera and app produce their own WiFi network which means you have to be in the car for it to work. The images and videos are easy to see via the app or on a pc, and are good quality. Very pleased.

Absolute garbage. Waste of almost £600. I previously had the advanced car eye one on my previous car and it was a great system. The advanced car eye 2 is by comparison rubbish. The rear camera is huge and creates a blind spot. The app does not connect properly. The manual record button is useless and records from the time you press the button and does not include 10 seconds beforehand. What use is that? Absolute garbage. I should have had an aftermarket system fitted instead of this garbage.

Works and ok now. Had a few teething problems with camera not connecting. Found the solution. Before you start the app, set airplane mode on your mobile phone. Then switch on wireless only, then start the app. For me, that works every time. you need either the engine running or press the start button in your BMW 3 times in quick succession. Downloaded videos to my phone ok. If the camera is triggered when I'm not in the car, the camera beeps the next time to you start the engine.

Poor app. Can't even load main page. Extremely disappointed that this is happening to BMW. Paid a premium for an app that doesn't work

The dash cam works OK and records decent footage both front and rear but the App is useless. I cannot get the camera to connect to my phone whatsoever. The phone shows the camera giving out a strong wifi signal but it won't connect even after restoring factory settings. To view footage I have to remove the SD card and use the BMW_AdvancedCarEye2 viewer. Had a response from Support but no better. With so many people saying this App is useless why don't you do something about it !!!!!!

Very disappointed in the poor quality of this app! I have an android phone and it is not compatible despite your instructions which don't work like what other users have experienced. I wish I didn't bother paying £600 for the camera to be installed in my mini. You seriously need to make a better app, premium car brand with a high school app design.

Terrible app, not entirely sure what the purpose of the thing is if I can only view footage when in the car with the engine on... complete waste of money. Already been back to dealer to have it looked at, its only been installed once. Even the technician didn't know what it was doing. Programmer needs sacking this is an awful bit of programming and done is most certainly not better than perfect if you are using Agile!! Shocking quality from BMW

This came as a replacement for my original BMW camera and the cost of this replacement is relatively expensive. It does not work with android devices

Very dissapointed purchased with new car app only works when I am sat in the car next to the cameras, waste of money should have kept my old dash cams and saved myself nearly £500. Would not recommend

Absolute garbage just like everyone else has reported. I have an android phone, set up wf-fi first on the phone as advised by the dealership, then installed the app and being asked to change the SSID and password. I put in the new details and press save and nothing happens, no matter how many times press. This is not something I expect from BMW. Avoid!!!!

Wow, you managed to correct the error with the previous update, so that UK users can use their dash cams again. However, connection with the cameras is still a very convoluted and slow process - really wish I had stuck with Garmin, as better value and more importantly it's user friendly!

This app is a nightmare. I've connected it to my phone, it works for the time I connected it but next time I get into the car it says Internet not available. I've cleared the cache, I've deleted the app and then reinstalled and still the same problem. As I don't have a computer I can't read the card any other way. Waste of money paying nearly £500 to have installed when the software isn't up to scratch.

Absolutely dreadful. How BMW can put their name to this is beyond me. First and most important the quality of the camera is shocking, think back to your first mobile phone. Then to get footage off the camera is a long laborious task where you have to physically remove the memory card and find a device that can read it to get the video. You can download each clip onto the app but then not actually access the file to share or send etc... What is the point in that. Painful app, poor camera 0*

This is the worst product experience. Expensive and doesn't work. Don't buy this dashcam. NOT recommended.
