The task management mechanism of android system has been changed after the release of the version 2.2 of the android system. Task killers cannot kill the services and notifications on your phone.

By use of the Advanced Task Manager, you can thoroughly stop tasks in the following steps: 1) long press the task that you want to stop 2) chose the “force stop” option3) press the the “force stop” button on the application info system panel

If you want to manage running services, click menu->service, then it will open the system service panel where you can stop running services.

**Please note that installing other task manager or task killer tools may make your phone unstable or cause potential conflict.**

■ FAQ-----------------------------Q: Why do apps restart again after killing?A: Some apps are restarted by system events. Apps cannot be prevented from restarting because of system limitation. We suggest you to enable auto kill in settings, and it will kill tasks on every screen off. It will help to save battery life and release memory for the phone.

Q: How can I add apps to the ignore list?A: You can long press the task that you want to ignore, and then you will get a poped up context menu, click "Ignore". The ignored apps will not be shown in the task list, and will never be killed. You can manage the ignored apps in settings.

Q: How can I manage startup apps? There is "Startup Kill" in settings. It can help you to kill tasks when system starts up.

This used to be the best app of this kind (and I've tried quite a few), but now it shows full screen ads all of a sudden. There were no ads whatsoever up until now. I don't mind banner ads inside the app, but I can't have ads obscuring my home screen. I'll try it a little while longer and change my rating to 5 stars when I no longer see giant ads.

App doesn't do ANYTHING. I installed it to "kill" apps and save on RAM and battery and it doesn't do what it says it does. after "killing" all the apps that it shows are running, I refreshed the screen and all the apps were back to showing as running. I changed all my settings long ago to not allow certain apps to run in the background and even with that, this app couldn't "kill"their activity. Weak app. Lots of ads. Not even worth downloading.

I used this application for around 9 years, over multiple phones and two different mobile providers, always making sure it was one of the first applications I would install on a new phone. Unfortunately, it hasn't worked like it used to for a while now. It seems that it no longer actually closes or stops a majority of the apps you select. Based on my experience, I feel this application is no longer of any use at all, especially if you are trying to clear RAM usage, extend battery life, etc.

Run the app and it gives you a list of, supposedly, what's running. Tell it to close the items you want closed and it claims to do it. Immediately re-open the app and the same items are still there! Too many ads including one that lies to you and tells you that your phone is infected. It was a fair app but lately all it seems to do is want to install crapware on your device.

The application worked well for a period of time then I was forced to manually launch the application every time I needed to kill background processes. I have checked the settings and the options for activating the application on startup are enabled. So, I'm not sure why the application is not functioning as expected! Maybe future releases will address the issue. Regardless, the situation has dampened my 'Advanced Task Manager' experience.

After using this app for something like ~8 of more years (I always had this, particularly for old phones with low RAM), it's stopped doing what it's supposed to. Apps are still running after supposedly killing them. The ads at the end for the confirmation screen is irritating and makes it seem like you want us to accidentally click the ad instead of the Leave/Exit app button. I'll be uninstalling, sadly. App used to be a life (battery) saver. Now, it's just bad.

I understand ads are necessary; however, right after installing & opening the app there were loud and baring ads, I couldn't even use it to just try it! That's horrendous. 8/28/2019 Update Okay so the ads have calmed down, some are useful, & they're not intrusive. I'm using a LG Stylo 4 from Xfinity Mobile & it's a watered down version of what other carriers sell. Using it as a backup (waiting for repair). This LG has a measly 2GB of Ram. This app saves the day! 4 stars now up from 1 star.

This is one of the most frustrating apps I have ever encountered. I say that because the app itself continuously refreshes and kills stuff every 3 seconds, no matter what I set the time to to refresh. It overlaps my 2nd screen literally EVERY 3 SECONDS when it's supposed to auto kill every 5 MINUTES while the screen is on. It's obnoxious! GRRRR!!!! Uninstalled to get the task kills to stop. It kills tasks but also kills apps in the middle of using them.

This app works perfectly fine, but the iconography genuinely bugs me. I know what it's trying to communicate with the android logo and the big red X, but bright lime green and red is not super appealing to look at. I'd also hold off on shading the icon unless you're using cell shading or very subtle gradients. When most app icons look smooth and sharp and minimalist, yours sticks out a bit like a sore thumb. I am using a custom app icon and I just turned off all app notifications because I don't want to see it next to all of my matching icons in the toolbar at the top of the screen. But, I'm a graphic artist so I'm probably unreasonably picky about this kind of thing lol. But again, it works perfectly fine

It seems okay, I guess. But it is saturated with ads. A Task Manager Application should be both free & Ad-free, without any hassle or unnecessary expense. Sometimes I cannot even tell for sure if this Application is working. Full screen ads within are intrusive and obstructive.

Appears to be a useless ad serving app. Comes up with a list of running apps that can be closed by hitting the 'Boost' button. Reports on my phone that 1.2Gb have been released. Run the Advanced Task Manager app immediately again and the same apps are still running. Plenty of ads and of little use. Don't bother with this app. .

I've used this app for years on my other (older) devices and it has worked well. This later version on my most recent phone apparently does nothing. I came back to look on Google Play to see if there was some reason for that and notice quite a few reviews stating the same issue. I'm uninstalling it and getting an app that works.

The app seems to function as advertised: Decent layout, easy enough to use & navigate. Kills & hibernates apps on command, and even has the option to auto-terminate specified apps at regular intervals while device is being used or when screen turns off, which I especially like. The only nuisance I've noticed is that the widget appears to stop functioning after a while (i.e., the "free RAM" readout ceases fluctuating) and I hafta keep removing & replacing it on my home screen to refresh it.

The app shows a list of supposedly running apps. After I click Boost button it claims I released 1.1 GB of memory. I then close and re-open app, it shows all the apps are back in memory. I click Boost and now I released 1.2 GB of memory. This app is confusing, misleading, and basically just a way to show me ads. This app used to work many years ago. Update: I ended up using an app called Greenify which worked great, plus it's free and no annoying ads to deal with.

Like so many others before me, I installed this app thinking it would close open apps. It doesn't appear to do that. I'll run it and the amount of memory used remains the same, even after apparently killing a ton of apps. I think it actually uses more memory after running this. And a Remove Ad button that goes nowhere? What is that about? A very scammy app that doesn't do what it says it does in so many ways. It's gone.

This app rocks! I've used it on at least 3 devices over several years. It gives you control over permissions for each app, running services, notifications and elimination of battery draining activity. Simple solid app that does exactly what it says. Almost no ads. Thank you!

Advanced Task Manager doesn't appear yo work (free version). All apps are still running immediately after running this app to close them all. Alerts from the app appear to pop up just to push adverts. I have used it for years, but it doesn't appear to work properly now so I have now uninstalled it.

Joe. E. Oct 10, 2018

Haven't used this app in a long time. I'm talking months. I've cleared running apps and rebooted several times since using it. Yet advanced task manager actively maintains a connection to a remote server. Noticed it while checking active connections with another app. Uninstalling immediately after this review.

I don't have anything to add that other reviews haven't already said. I'll echo some of the main points I read that reflect my experience with this app. This used to be a favorite app of mine that I've used for years across many different phones. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to do anything anymore for newer phones. I know it's probably a bug with new phone software but doesn't make it any more useful. I'd be happy to give it 5 stars if the devs made it a functional app again.
