Adventure Escape: Dark Ruins

As always the game was awesome. But there was a huge problem in one of the puzzle( board puzzle). The game doesn't move forward at all. Even if I have completed it. It was too frustrating. I also checked with other walkthrough and the answer were same but only mine didn't progress. I have to pay for stars without any reason. Just so I could continue. It was just too frustrating. Please look on to it.

Beautiful game. Good story. Unfortunately I am not fast enough to play a part where I have to quickly tap to play some music. That's where I had to stop playing :( . Also, before that music part, there was a part where character was dizzy and had double and triple vision and I had to fit the images together. I felt a little dizzy myself looking at it. If you're quick, go for it. If you're playing on a cellphone, use a magnifying glass to see the little detail clues.

Another great Adventure Escape game from Haiku. Basically free to play. The ads are not frequent or intrusive to the game. I think most can play without need to purchase hint points. I must admit I used a walkthrough to save time on some really long puzzles and frustration on some clues I could not find. In last section, there is need to follow a fine path by tracing; if you stray, you must start over. I found my finger was blocking my view, so I used a stylus; problem solved. On some earlier games, if I stopped in mid-chapter, I had to begin that whole chapter over. On this one, I lost either no progress, or only one or two quick and simple "moves".

Good game play and great graphics, the puzzles are always fun on these games. Not the best of the collection, I prefer the format and gameplay of the older games. Also, The singing puzzle (the echo part) is stupid when you are not on a phone but using a chrome book. Completely impossible you can't tap on two things at once with a mouse so I can't carry on with the game.

Ffs!! Played the majority of the game only to find the items I needed disappeared from my inventory (car battery) reloaded the game and same thing! If I reset I'll have to start from the beginning. Not impressed with this offering from the developers. Not to mention the illogical puzzles?! Made no sense and were way out the box! It's a shame because I've played all their other games and generally enjoyed them... But give this one a miss

I still have not finished the game. I have noticed a trend in your newer games where some of the puzzle answers are obscure. I find that annoying. However i still enjoy your games. In the future please do not include anymore sliding tile puzzles or at least make the option to skip the puzzles easier. In your older games the player could replay previous levels to acquire additional stars. You removed this feature so we have to pay which is not nice. Hopefully my review will improve once i complete the game.

The best AE I've ever played. The graphic has improved a lot. The game is challenging, even too challenging sometimes. You need to open your eyes and mind to every possibility and detail coz the game doesn't provide many clues. Maybe this is when you say that the difficulty level of the game is hard to the point of harder than hard.

One of the best games I've ever played! I love these kind of games and nowadays it's getting harder and harder to find them. There are lots of puzzle types and they're challenging yet not frustatingly hard. Can't stop playing them! The storyline enhances it even more to make an almost perfect game! Will definitely download their other games too! Kudos to all the developers team for making such a masterpiece!

Awesome game. The characters are amusing, enjoying their continuity. Clue placements are spot on. Loved that the puzzles made you think, nothing too easy but always fun. The following the grey line puzzle took forever because I couldn't see past my nail, which are short for typing. I dropped a point in control rating for that, sorry. It was a great annoyance. Maybe you could consider adding a check point or two along the grey path puzzle. Overall, loved it. Am looking forward to the next one.

As always, an excellent adventure game from Haiku! 🏆 Good story with comic reliefs, challenging & very diverse puzzles that provide a good gamification of the story, and lovable characters. I liked how the story splits between them & progresses in parallel. I wish there was a way to repeat a chapter after completing it, before finishing the entire game & restarting... I enjoyed it so much I played it twice!

Amazing! The story and the mysterious atmosphere you gave to the game makes people excited! I even felt like I'm one of the characters! The graphics and animations are so satisfying! And there are so many kinds of puzzles which makes it more fun, challenging and creative! And unlike many other game, you made these puzzles related to old legends and such which gives it a historical touch! Hope you make more series of these guys or sumiliar games!

Too many frustrating mini games. I finally get past aiming basketball..7 times-- Only to realize..wrong order! Ugh. Then, the musical notes..that fly past at a 100miles per/hour..Ugh. Then they had to throw in a Slider puzzle. 30* to skip it?? They should offer a free skip for slider puzzles. 90 percent of the population find these frustrating. I know I do. ..It's an uninstall for me. Won't make it past Chapter 7. Some mini games are not made for tablets/phones.. I.m.o.

Great game by Haiku, again! Very challenging. There are some really challenging puzzles that I almost wanted to give up. But still managed to get through without spending any stars for hint. The fence for alligator got 2 solutions, but only 1 of them is the right answer in this game, which I think can be improved.

Overly obscure clues. Haiku games are my favorite pastime on my phone, but this one routinely provided excessively complex clues that were so vague and labyrinthine, it simply sapped the fun out of playing. I understand the developers' goals are to make money through the purchase of stars, but the expectation of purchase in this game was set too high. It'd be better to have a cost for the download upfront than making puzzles so difficult, they becomes less enjoyable.

Gorgeous graphics as usual but details are too small even for a plus size phone. I have to read a walkthrough because I can barely see the clues. Frustrating. Update: I was going to give it 4 stars but they had to include a timed musical segment , throwing the game out of puzzle and into arcade category. Uninstalling, back to real Japanese escape games.

I had to stop and uninstall the game at level 10 because on my phone it is IMPOSSIBLE to complete the signature. It's very buggy and not accurate at all to the actual movements of the finger on the screen and the pen jumps away from the point of my finger. also you have to press down on the back of the pen and not the point which makes it even harder. I'm still giving it a 4/5 because I really do enjoy your games and this one was very challenging but also very fun and satisfying to play.

I am very upset with this game. It was very fun and I got through most of the puzzles fairly easily, but when i got to a certain one, I simply couldn't do it. I am on a ChromeBook, wich for those of you who do not know, does not have a touchscreen. The challenge waas to click multiple buttons at the same time, a musical challenge. I tried very many times to pass it, but could not. At that point, i was one star away from skipping the challenge, wich altogether devestating. I had to delete the app

A great brain-teaser with a tight storyline. I like how each character has a clear personality dictating its actions. The puzzles are challenging but after a while I could get into the game's mindset and find creative solutions more easily. I also sometimes used hints, which is a very helpful feature

This one was bad. I've played all the other Adventure Escape games and left some good reviews. This is the first bad one. The newer Haiku games are getting to where they don't make much sense. The riddles/puzzles are irritating instead of challenging because there isn't any logic to the answers. Most of these games require logic and problem solving (asylum is a good one to start with) but there wasn't anything to go off of to even give you a start at problem solving.

It's just not very good. The puzzles are not intuitive and are really hard but not in a good challenging way, more of an I've just been given the solution and it's still illogical way. However do not let this put you off the developers other escape games. I've played lots and they are usually superb. This is just an off day.

This was enjoyable! I've played countless adventure games, and the puzzles seem to be somewhat the same in each. But here I find very original and diverse puzzles! Brilliant! I also loved the fact that it was a long playing game. The diversity kept it interesting all the way. Great game!

I placed the mask on the depiction of the storm goddess before I placed the branches. Because the game won't recognize that I've completed the puzzle, I have to choose what to do next. Either I don't advance any further in the game, because the puzzle can't be reset, or I give up 20 stars to skip a puzzle I completed. I choose option 3... stop playing and find a game that doesn't glitch.

I was excited to see a Haiku escape game. I have loved every one of the past ones and looked forward to this. I am only on Chapter 4 and I'm a little disappointed. I enjoy having to get items from different "rooms" to work on a clue. This game tends to be more of a 1 room at a time escape room game. The clues also seem to be very vague. I'm still moving forward but I've needed the walkthrough more than I wanted to use them. Thank you to those who post the walkthroughs.

I have finally found the best kind of adventure games there is, and im gonna try every game of haiku's. Interesting stories, decent puzzles that involve all kinds of genres, from super easy to difficult, from super fun to super annoying, but it was worth the effort and time. It's almost loke braingames and fun! I'm addicted to these games.

Give this game a try, it's honestly better than I expected it to be. I thought it'll be a small game but the puzzles seem to be coming one after the other. The levels aren't too hard but you might wanna take a break or two from the game and try again later with a clear head to get past them. Overall a great game and looking to playing the other installments.
