Glitches! First the bullet on chapter 2 just suddenly disappears when I tried dragging it around. Then on chapter 3 there's nothing I could take after opening the trail map puzzle (which even after going through a walkthrough I can't make any sense in it. Blah.) I read the wt only to discover I should have had been able to take the blue disc. But in the game it didn't do anything. Just stuck. I love Haiku games before but this one just doesn't make any sense.
Honestly a really good game I really enjoyed. I'm kind of addicted now. I'm going to download another. My only problem is that when you close the game you essentially lose all your progress in the chapter, they have free skips for puzzles you have already done but it would be overall better if it just let you pick up where you left off. That's the only reason I'll give it 4 not 5.
Some of the puzzles were cumbersome. They took a long time to finish. For instance they could have put the sudoku type puzzle in a smaller grid. Also, The option to zoom in would make game play more enjoyable as sometimes I can't see where I need to touch. The story was fun, and I enjoyed the game.
Not the best in the series. Gameplay was fiddly in places and objectives weren't always clear. I had to waste stars trying to figure out what I was supposed to be accomplishing, before the challenging parts even cropped up. The graphics were solid and there was a promising suggestion of a plot before I got stuck on some puzzle with insufficient hints/dodgy controls (my pattern for about half these games) and just uninstalled to be done with it.
I was enjoying it until I got to the mouse maze game. 30 stars to skip and it just tells you to beat it faster every time? I got it down to 48 seconds and it still wasn't good enough. Remove the high score thing, raise the required time to make the high scores or lower the amount of stars needed to skip it and I'll finish the game and raise my rating.
This is an excellent episode. I rather like the Kate Gray games in Haiku--they've developed a nice character. The puzzles in this one were all reasonable, meaning I didn't game to waste my free hint stars on impossible timed levels, but for actually when I got stuck (it wasn't hard,i just missed it). The story flows. Only complaint I have is not being able to save mid-episode. Unfortunately that's what keeps me from playing these more (might be fixed in later games, not sure. Please fix all?)
I love love love the AE mysteries, but this one is giving me trouble. I have tried it countless ways, checked and rechecked, followed walkthroughs exactly and it will not let me get past the checkerboard in chapter 3. I know I am doing it correctly, and I have even tried restarting the chapter. I'm going to have to uninstall because I can't go any further. :(
The game is fun with a bunch of difficult puzzles & lengthy level plays, but I don't feel it's fair to make me start the whole level all over ago just because I closed out. It makes me feel like I need to pick a moment where i have nothing to do, no phone calls, no messaging just so I don't have to leave the game & start the level all over again.
First of all, it's not bad unlike what I've read in the reviews. I can understand their frustration though. The puzzles are somewhat inappropriate or lacks the logic in "Why do I have to solve this?" (Ex. Requiring a code for the door to a house you're invited to, the ski puzzle) And sometimes the clues are a bit too far to notice(the 3-digit code with clues "JAY" and "JUST PLAY"). But I liked it, the story is good but it could've been better if it was stretched a little bit more. Very Creative.
I have written rave reviews for every Haiku game I have played so far. I have thought, "wow, this one's my favorite!" about 10 times. I actually uninstalled this & didn't finish. Usually the puzzles, as difficult as they may be, at least make sense, and if they don't there's a hint somewhere.. the first puzzle I got stuck at was rearranging the skiis. The computer dials hint sucked, the locker/ski trail map gave me this hint for 5 stars: "add the pieces of the map to the map." .....?
Another great adventure escape game developed by Haiku. Great job. I have been playing adventure escape series since their very first game. It really impressed me. It is challenging. It has interesting storyline. And it is free! My only complaint is the game drains my smartphone battery really fast. And my phone is hot. For this battery issue, 4 stars. Please improve and keep it up.
the game is fun, in general, but some stuff i didn't even understand where or how they got around to figuring out how to solve the problems. but over all fun. please add a save feature, i had to start over twice because i didn't go back to the game right away.
The mysteries was built up very nicely but unfortunately they fell apart at the last parts. It felt forced. Anyway the puzzles were many and some of them were hard, but they're all really fun to solve. Great game, as always.
Super awesome game, I've played it several times and each time I catch something new. The storyline is wonderful and the puzzles are challenging but I used walkthroughs online when I got stuck.
It's got some pretty good puzzles to solve. It's easy to navigate through. My problem that kept it from getting 5 stars is it doesn't save the progress after a puzzle has been solved. I got the toys in the cupboard solved but had to leave the game and when I came back, it was at the beginning of the chapter.
Worst puzzles out of all of Haiku Games apps. I absolutely love the other games but the puzzles in this one are so absurd that it feels like there is very little logic behind any of it. I suggest trying the others and skipping this one.
It's getting a two star because I just started the game and its okay but the hint for the puzzles are not clear at all, they are hard to understand and if you leave the game and later come back it doesn't start from where you stopped but you have to do that level again. It's so stressful.
Good game! The puzzles were actually good and challenging enough. I liked that the clues were not overtly obvious. Apart from that, the mouse game is either buggy or the high score is very difficult to achieve. Could have just been - beat the game and get the clue
You need to give more stars and better instructions for the puzzles. Way to vague on some. You should be able to continue the game where you left off also instead of having to start the whole chapter over again. Also if you have already done a step your hints need to keep up. It costs stars to tell you what you have already done. That needs to be fixed. Otherwise not a bad game.
It's bad for having completed a level... Spending money on a game and pass a level and once you exit the game it cycles back to the beginning of the level like you never completed the task. I won't play such money grabbing games. It's an insult to my intelligence to have me re-play a level over and over again. For that and that alone I wouldn't give a single star for it if the app didn't require it to state the rating. All of the games they make are all like this it makes awful game play tactics
This game was great at first but then by chapter 3 the puzzles didn't make sence. When you go to get a clue they cost a good bit but I went ahead and got a clue anyway. The first clue was so obvious that I had already done that so I wasted the first 10 stars. Then the next clue was 15 but I got that 1 as well and it didn't make sence. I was so mad I went to youtube and cheated. I followed the video move 4 move and it gave the star and opened the drawer on the video but not my own game. Not cool!
Absolutely appalling. Pointless puzzles and too many that are so difficult and require you to restart if you make one tiny error. Soduku with miniature figures for heaven's sake. Took ages and that was with the walkthrough running. There are at least two solutions to the checkers puzzle but the programmers haven't thought of that.
I've played quite a few of these games now. This one is the worst so far. All puzzle games walk a thin line when it comes to suspension of disbelief, this game tramps all over that line. There is no subtlety to the puzzles, they don't fit in to the scenarios. The story is a hotmess, and they try to pull a message out at the end that has not been earned. Two stars cause the game play is functional, but honestly if your thinking of playing this just go play Trapmaker instead.
It makes me re-do entire sections once I exit the game..the save feature seems to be off, I will gladly up my rating when this gets fixed. I love these types of games and have played a ton of them...I do agree some of the puzzles don't come naturally, and the hint section could be more user-friendly. Otherwise this seems like a solid, fun game!
