I enjoyed this one as usual, difficulty is much easier than other games by this developer. Though, I didn't like how slow things are (like when you click on stuff). This is present in all games by the dev actually. Second, areas that have two actions (like the water pipe behind the bushes that you shear), after the first action is performed, no prompt plays for the second one, which may confuse players.
Fun, formulaic, fairly undemanding, short game. Giving it 4 stars because it's bug free, allows you to pick up plenty of stars for hunts should you need them, and the puzzles are varied. But don't get it expecting amazing visuals or great complexity.
So far I am having fun. I'm writing this review for the stars I will receive. Not too difficult so far, at the end of Chapter 1. I'm enjoying the story but I do wish I could move about more freely. So now I know a little more, still having fun. Had to skip one puzzle. Not enough stars laying around to help me solve it. Expensive little suckers, those stars!
Good game with puzzles that make you think but not too difficult, fantastic time waster. The only annoying bit is that it doesn't save your progress exactly to where you are if you are half way through a series of connected puzzles. For instance the brief case... I kept getting pushed back to picking up the crow bar even though I was just about to work out the code. But not too bad as I use this to relax so no worries having to remember the horoscopes again. Overall really enjoying it though.
It would be much easier to play on a tablet as the picture is small on the phone. A zoom option would be helpful. I sometimes was touching the right area but had to touch it several times to collect the object. The puzzles were difficult but not impossible and that was refreshing. A way to watch ads to earn hints would be a good addition. It is worth the download if you like this type of game. The star taken away was because there is no way to zoom in on the screen.
This game is good! I really liked this game! Nice short story, interesting puzzles, and beautiful graphic. There was only two things that bothered me. 1. The Skip button that has no confirmation window. One wrong touch and voila: accidental star usage. 2. No replay value. Maybe you can add a "Replay?" button after finishing the game? Though perhaps you've added it already in your later games. Because I think this game is your second oldest after all.
Should have been better. Some key parts of the puzzle are too obscure and even after walkthrough help I was "You're kidding" when I should have been "Oh! Now I see..." Also, as is typical (but not universal) in this kind of game, the puzzles themselves are often contrived and don't fit the storyline. Finally, the controls are usually good, but sometimes awful.
Absolutely love Haiku Games! Recently discovered these fantastic FREE games and have become addicted to them. The quality of the graphics, storyline and puzzles are incredible, especially as they won't cost you a cent. I've downloaded all their games and making my way through them. My only complaint is that I want to replay this one but I just get stuck at the map page with all the chapters greyed out. Spoiler: To complainers about the stone throwing at the end, the guy isn't the target.
It's good. I just wish 1) whenever a clue or a star (or whatever) is found, it directly goes to the inventory and not do the glowing, it kinda wastes the time. 2) when the game needs to zoom in, it has to zoom in directly to the item. It's annoying when it slides to some part of the room before showing the intended spot.
Ya almost got me!! I tried something wrong like 300 times before doing something else different out of sheer frustration and boredom (at the end of game). Sure enough, after some tries, it worked--without even realizing!!!! Laughing at myself now, I can give you guys a rare 5 stars from me. I needed a few hints along the way. I REALLY tried hard not to use them. SO MANY different and interesting puzzles to figure out, all while continuing with the story. Cant believe it was free!! Thank you!!!!
I love how this game has a good quality and it was a suprise tbh that all the games are free when the standard's the same as desktop's ones with payment. However, my only critism is that it doesn's save my progess unless I complete a chapter. Especially the letter part, it was hard to solve it repeatedly. I hope that would be upgraded. Overall, ver satisfying and addicting experience.
I like the graphics and visuals. But then I had a hard time guessing what to do on every next puzzle. You have to tap all over the screen, which is frustrating cause you don't even know what you are looking for. As you want to save the hint points for the difficult parts, you've got no choice but to use it though. I think they need to fix the storyline on how to guide the player for the next puzzle.
My 3rd game in this installment, this one was comparatively easier than the rest of the Adventure Escape games. No tutorial at the beginning was well appreciated to be honest, contrary to what others might say. This one had better puzzles compared to the first game and were more related to the plot. The plot was better itself. P.S. this game had an abundance of stars and they were easier to find for some reason.
Frustrating. Got to a chapter where I knew the solution but the game had missed a step and not given me all the numbers I needed. Even the hints were convinced I had the numbers, but I didn't, I only had three of four. Was enjoying before then. Would like to continue playing if the dev can fix this bug. Spent all my points getting hints to a puzzle I already knew the answer to, but it wasn't that I missed something. Looks like something just didn't work correctly....
Love the puzzles and the storyline but so frustrated because the SKIP puzzle button is located on the actual puzzles so whilst piecing together the letter it has just decided that I had skipped the puzzle while moving the pieces around and took loads of my stars. You really need to re-think the placement of this button!! When you do I will happily give a 5 star rating!
Challenging, but doesn't require too much mind-reading. Cryptogram has some irregularities, not a one-to-one correspondence between letters. There need to be "undo" and "backup" buttons in some places. Not quite good enough to pay to continue after chapter 5.
This is my favourite by far. Dialogue, graphics, etc. are excellent. The puzzles are fun and not too hard but if you get stuck, you can swap them for stars you can collect along the way. No glitches or flaws.
A really good game even when some of the puzzle's had me lost. But i did beat the game and i will tell everyone about this really cool game. You really need to play the game and even if the puzzle's are a little hard at frist it's ok because you will get to the end of the game and even beat the game. With that said it's a fun play good art work and love the sound when you get the puzzle right. Thank you soo much for this fun game. I just hope that this rateing helps you all out.
I just started this series of games. Its a little boring right now. I don't like that there are no instructions for the mini games. I deleted the game because I and no one else could figure out how to find the last headstone piece. All of the walkthroughs I found were NO help. I'll never play another game in this series.
Another of your games that I was able to finish. Loved everything about it even though it was an older version. No serious issues just a little freeze in the gears puzzle. Highly recommend
Usually don't play these kind of games because the puzzles are extremely hard or they want real money at some point. This game has a slight learning curb, but fun to play once you get the hang of it. Puzzles are challenging but not so difficult that you want to throw your device across the room. Good job developers.
I wish we could give partial stars... I'd give this app maker and their games an 4.9 overall. Their games are so good, no annoying are, great features, fun, captivating... But... I would LOVE to see some trilogies or series of one story because my only complaint is how quickly I am able to finish the game. But if there were a part 2 and 3 that would make this a true 5 star game for me FOR SURE!
Love these games, but encountered ad issues w/ Asylum and now experiencing the same issues with this one. The ad that pops up (advertising more Haiku games to play) upon completion of each chapter. No way to close out of the ad. Tried pressing the back button, even tried clicking on the ad to see if I could then back out and resume game play, but nothing worked. Only thing that worked was to close out the game completely and restart. Very annoying, especially if you finish chapters quickly.
