Been using this for ³+ years and have been satisfied. Customizability is insane. so many options, you could spend days tweaking everything. Instead of doing that, you'll probably want to use a theme. There is a fair amount to pick from, I do wish there was a little more, but they're pretty diverse in style. Performance-wise, there is a vey slight drop. This common of most launchers, as the extravagant animations takes more processing. 99% of the time, it will not effect your experience.
I really enjoy this launcher, it has a good balance of features, speed, and minimal battery usage which was one of the top reasons for choosing. I do however have one small bug, when I pull down to search, my keyboard auto opens which it should, but it doesn't close after opening the selected app. And won't until I go back to the search and close it. Making certain things like my calculator unusable if searching for it.
Overall great, I've been using it as my default for years. However, is there any way you could make the navigation bar background transparent to the wallpaper on the home screen/desktop? It is black for whatever reason on my note8 and it just looks odd. It has bothered me for a over a year. I was hoping there'd be some update to change that. Never fixed it.
I love this launcher... I really do. Features galore, lots of ways to customize, love being able to sort and organize my app drawer... However, two things: It seems extremely slow to start up at boot and since I am unable to add web pages to my home screen as shortcuts, I can only rate at 4 stars. If those things were to be fixed, I'll edit my review!
Insanely customizable, simply. Can be a bit complicated doing it, but when you patiently, step-by-step keep perfecting it, it ends up being more satisfying than I think most people would expect. I'd like to show my super minimalistic setup, but unfortunately can't. Anyhow, I fu*king love this. Won't leave this launcher for any other. (...except maybe Hyperion when I get a new phone in a few years...)
I would rate 5 if 2 key features were added. 1: the ability to extend the height of the home screen. On my a51 the bottom section of the home screen is just black. 2: Infinite scroll when scrolling side to side in the app drawer. For the most part I really like the launcher and I will be using this instead of the standard one. I even like better than nexus.
Í If you want a cool and easy to configure Launcher this is it. I have tried many cause it is hard to find one for tablets or newer phones. I have this on both and works and looks great. The thing that sets this Launcher launcher apart from the others is the configuration of the Whole App. You would have to see for yourself. It is easy to use and fun to play around with all the cool stuff.
The good: its highly customizable. Especially the pro version. Unfortunately I paid for it twice. First time didn't register. The bad: No detailed manual or tutorials. Whats there doesn't answer a lot. Of you're willing top fiddle for a while, you'll get it working right. Ecample: got weather widget working, but can't get temperature setting to Fahrenheit. With better instructions, would surely be a 5 start app.
I upgraded to pro but still can't seem to be able to add custom shortcuts, such as web pages etc. It's been many years since any update. Can't add shortcuts to homescreen from any apps. Fix that for 5 stars. Also mistakenly bought your ex version of 1 but it doesn't work either. I can add webpage shortcuts manually, but I'm trying to get a spotify Playlist shortcut added to the home screen.
Shortcuts not properly populating the target (Poweramp playlist shorcut icon for example). Recents not working correctly (sometimes shows an empty placeholder). I paid for the full version (which isn't available as a separate app to review) however the app does not get updated. I realized I'm better off with Nova, which gets updates, and luckily the import brought over my icon layout.
It is great on older Android version, but on 9 it's UI and functionality is pretty outdated if I compare it to Google launcher. By using it we also lose the access to several Google components witch are generally integrated in the last Android versions (9 and above). However, I've seen many custom launchers, and this is still the best of them all, so 5 star because of that.
Been using ADW Launcher for years and always loved it. Most recent android update caused some of my shortcut icons to stop working (contacts for one). Additionally the icons are greyed out and locked in place. Lastly, I am completely unable to add or move shortcut icons on my home screens. Seems that there is a major incompatibility issue with the new version of android. I am using a Note 9. - Edit 2/24/2020. Android update somehow locked home screens. I unlocked and now all is well.
Having lots of trouble with launcher constantly/frequently going into edit mode or whatever it's called, while I'm scrolling widgets. I tried adjusting several things but it doesn't help. Must uninstall for now, sadly.// Fast, fluid, loaded with good features & options. Devs have obviously spent huge time & attention on making this great! Has way more than I need. My screens look like I've always dreamed! Bought pro immediately. Bravo, ADW! -- Samsung Galaxy S5
Been using the ADW launchers for as long as I can remember. I like having everything on one page, with no text under the icons, and lots of folders that clearly show their contents before being clicked. The missing star is because since Samsung's new One UI, the launcher no longer fills the whole screen, there's an extraneous margin at the bottom.
I love customizing my UI experience, in fact, if I can't, I probably won't use the device or software. This launcher is simply great. I tried out most of the top launchers when I got a new phone, and this is the one I chose to purchase. Premium is worth it if you love customizing. I haven't seen anything else that allows the level of freedom that this app does, and that is what I appreciate so much about it.
Love this. I would like to suggest an option to color status OR navigation bar instead of both automatically. GREAT LAUNCHER!! 😍😎 edit. I have gotten a new phone and downloaded ADW and have lost everything. EVERYTHING. I am beyond upset. All the time I put into creating and it's all GONE. Also navigation bar is stupid white. Tried a different launcher and it is transparent. c'mon ADW.
Downloaded it and paid after adw launcher started to mess around. Waste of time... And money. Can't get the full screen, can't get rid of the black background under notification panel and status bar. I got the phone with big screen to enjoy its size, not to cut it off with huge black lines. Totally disappointed 😥
I used to use this as my default launcher on my galaxy S8. I've upgraded to the S10 and once it's set as the default launcher it changes how much of the screen gets used for the launcher. It shrinks to the size if one handed more, but stays in the center of the screen. Looks horrible now. Unusable
Been using for years. Last upgrade to phone has created a problem with the bottom panel. It is twice as tall as it needs to be and no way to use the wasted valuable screen space. Going to hold off from switching hoping this gets fixed.
I've tried many, many launchers, and I always return to ADW. I've been using ADW since version 1. My only long running gripe with ADW Launcher 2 is that the alphabetical sort for icon folders was lost when transitioning to v2, it actually existed in v1. Please add this simple feature! I am a web developer and I would add it myself, but you can't access other devs apk source. Please update, it's been over a year since the last update. Thank you!
Very good launcher! Beautiful and elegant. But there's a folder indicator that i can't seem to hide on homescreen. But overall, great simple launcher! Oh, and i wish animations on homescreen could go waaay faster! I really like speed over style :p Other than that, i noticed it's taking minutes to open! (I know i may have thousands of apps and it makes it hard to load, but I hid almost them all and uncategorized, I thought that would be enough but it wasnt
I do like it but, it does not allow me to put any folders on my desktop. Just the one that comes with installation. I love the categories in apps. It could be better if you could load those on your desktop and when you add more apps to a specific folder it refreshes.
Prior to settling on ADW [many years ago], I tried a few other launchers, including the much-vaunted Nova. For me ADW beats them all. My devices look, feel, and function exactly as I want. Since I'm a Linux-only person, I'm used to having environments that *I* control 100%, so ADW is a perfect fit. I just wish its developer hadn't [apparently] abandoned it. It deserves its rightful place in the Android world limelight.
Great app, just one problem, everytime I change my resolution, (which is quite regularly for battery saving when I'm not at home) the icons on the bottom bar change in size (smaller with higher resolutions and larger with lower resolutions) please fix this and I will rate 5 stars
You promote this launcher as "Customizable" ??? Really? Won't allow 3rd-party widgets from MULTIPLE different developers... you know, little apps like ZOOPER for instance, amongst others. ADW was the first launcher I ever installed on my first Android. But get with the program... it ain't 2010. And since it's a launcher, which takes at least 45 minutes to setup, by the time I uninstalled it, it was too late apparently to get my refund. Thanks for a waste of time and a waste of money.
I don't like my home screen it's just...... 😑boooorriiinngg it's just that like the home screen is just simple and not comfortable and the drawer too on my Samsung but when I found this app.... I am ready explode fireworks on my head!!!!! You could change the app theme, home screen, edit apps and more I would never delete this [ Edit: ayo bro i have been using this app for over ( a year ) ← { i will edit this for every year :) } and i never regretted my words ] → "i would never delete this"
I really love this launcher. My biggest issue and reason for not giving four stars is the lack of ability to add web page shortcuts to the home screen. Clicking "Add to home screen" in the Chrome menu does nothing even if there is space available on the home screen.
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I have been using an outdated launcher forever because I could not find one with every feature that I like. This launcher has all of it. I never write reviews so speaks to how much I love this application. Thank you developers for such a great creation. I highly recommend it it's very worth your money.
This was a great app, now it's merely good. Since Android 12 was released, the app has gone haywire for many users it seems. For me it has a minor problem, my Pixel 3aXL widget for Google search does not work properly. When I unlock the lock screen instead of a widget I get "Widget can be restored" message in its place. It seems that this launcher is no longer supported by the developer, and there is no link for support on their website. There is an email link, but I'm not going to bother the developer for what is a minor issue. I'm hoping they change their mind and resume support for the app.
