Will give for stars for now. I like the fact I can make it a system application unlike Airdroid. Will rate 5 if it works if I ever have to use it in a real situation. +1

But it's good to know I can depend on it.

Definitely can tell this was written by a developer. Just with there was separate options to wipe and alarm. But its worked well already.

...But I don't think you have the correct link for "Support Developer" because it doesn't go to the donate version as I thought it would.

aeGis is an excellent security app on its own, or as a back-up security app to a more robust suite like Avast! or Cerberus. It provides every basic anti-theft/phone recovery feature you could ask for and takes up no system resources otherwise. Testing with a friend's phone proved it to work perfectly. Definitely worth having.

Exactly what I was looking for - remotely locate, lock, and/or wipe a lost phone via SMS only. No other extraneous features, no need to sign up for an account or maintain a data connection for the app to work. Will be buying the donate version. Well done.

Used for remote alarm clock. When someone needs me and I'm sleeping, my phone doesn't ring. But if they are important, I give them my aeGis alarm pass code and they can wake me up! Haven't used the security stuff yet, but the alarm triggers well. Wish it went off for more than a few seconds though. People need to text me several times. Great work!

No offense but the app is half baked and quite pointless. Cause the first thing any guy who steals your phone would do is dump your simcard somewhere. So there is no point of SMSing. It would be great if the app had the option to register a primary & alternate Phone number. Thus if the Thief changes the simcard, The new number will be sent to the registered / alternate number. I love the system app option. But all in all quite pointless. Cause no sane thief is gonna keep your SimCard in the phone. Please let me know if this feature is added ... i would rate the app 5star then. Thank you

Related Reflashed my ROM and don't have any problems now. Than you got your awesome app!

But no way to activate on wifi only tablets, as there is no SMS service. Google voice integration or some other activation method would be useful.

Just make sure that you change your password after you inevitably show your friends how cool this app is using their phones.

It's extremely easy & simple to use, small but efficient. Don't need anything more. Great app!

-- EDIT -- Dev responded to me directly and found the issue. Will be fixing soon. -- EDIT -- I think this is a great app in principle. It is clean and easy to use, and provides a great service for free. However, I found a bug that almost forced me to factory reset my Samsung GS3. I installed the app and wanted to test the lock function. I put in a custom password and turned it on. I then sent myself the custom text. It locked my phone, and I put in my password, which unlocked it. After half a second, it locked again, prompting the same password. The only way to keep it from locking was to continue pressing buttons. As soon as nothing was pressed, it would lock again. I changed my security preferences to "No lock security," but it still locked every second. I was about to factory reset my phone when I held the phone button which brought up the task manager. From there I was able to end aeGis's administrator access, which finally stopped the locking. I emailed the developer with my issue. Hopefully there is a solution. In the meantime, I am uninstalling the app.
