AEON Mindfulness App

The AEON app helps users in practicing a mindfulness technique that requires individuals not to react in response to their thoughts, but to be aware of them and observe them while they are going away (distancing from thoughts). The effectiveness of the AEON app was tested in a thorough lab study, published by the International Journal of Human-Computer Studies (Elsevier), see http://hcilab.uniud.it/publications/354.htmlFor more information, visit also the AEON page: http://hcilab.uniud.it/aeon

This is a beautifully done and effective app for distancing certain thoughts from your mind. It is simple and easy to use, really works for me, I recommend it!

I love the concept, and the graphics and fonts are nice. The water ripple effect is great. However, it consistently gets "stuck" after the first thought, and the swiping from right to left with two fingers does not work at all, even after I uninstalled and reinstalled. It usually just freezes and I have to press the main button to exit the app. Needs work.

Liked it but after the first thought it gets stuck on the "swipe with 2 fingers" screen...

I really enjoy the design of this app, especially the waviness of letting the thoughts go. Sidenote:the link to your publication is producing a 404 error, and I'm interested in reading the study.

Useful thought distancing exercise. Wishlist (1) ability to go back and edit thoughts (rather than just delete them), (2) choose thoughts from a list of examples like Thought Challenger by Northwestern U, (3) remove full network access to truly minimize the already minimally invasive permissions. What is (3) needed for, if the research study that generated this app is finished?
