Aeroplan

The app works well enough but many features are unavailable, such as booking cars and hotels, and also booking multi-city flights. It's definitely time these options are available in the app, because the website doesn't work with a mobile device, and no one has time to wait on hold on the phone for customer service....who doesn't particularly want to hear from you. Complete the app please!

It had always worked perfectly without any issues. Now suddenly over the last 2 weeks it stopped working. Now I can't even log in. I'm a frequent flyer and use the Star Alliance network almost weekly, so this issue is starting to affect my ability to control my Air mileage and see what is going on. When attempting to log in, an error message comes up saying "Technical Issue - Unfortunately, we are unable to complete this operation. Please try again in a few moments." Please fix the problem.

I got to the end of my booking and a window came up saying there was an error. I checked everything and repeated the booking. Again an error. I repeated this about four times. Then I waited about 20 minutes and repeated with the identical information and the booking was accepted. I have had this kind of problem before with Aeroplan bookings. I think it's disgraceful that the computer program has never been updated and corrected on your part. It should not take an hour, and four or more attempts.

Utter garbage. Constantly makes you choose a new password, and then it still doesn't work. Does not co-ordinate with Air Canada app, which requires the use of the same information. Used a computer to log in but the same information generates "Technical error" in the app. I am not really interested in having to reset my password every time I open an app. Unfortunately, this is the only choice you have for Aeroplan.

Good enough loyalty and rewards program, but the app is so clunky it's painful to use. The forgot password button took me to a web page that never loaded and when I tried to access online retailer promotions it just simply doesn't load. I also get booted off to the login page to try to log back in and that sometimes doesn't work. You're better off using the desktop version, and even that isn't very polished.

By far the worst mobile app I've ever used. It constantly crashes and gets me to re-login. After entering my Info it says it sends me a verification code which usually doesn't send. After going through the whole process the app crashes again prompting me to do the same thing. So frustrating as I don't have a computer and would like to book a hotel through this app and collect points.

The app stopped working for me, so I uninstalled and reinstalled it. When I was able to log in, even though I checked the stay connected box, I have to sign in every time AND get a confirmation code via email each time! Since there are no settings for the app allowing users to customize their experience, I am basically not using the app anymore.

This app is so flawed and frustrating. I continuously get errors trying to book and use my points for Air Canada. Today it errored once and I had to restart. When putting in billing information and you scan a card it won't select the card type, and when you manually do it deletes all the scanned value. You can do better with 3 lines of code. Do better. I was super elite and I've started taking my business elsewhere.

If you are simply looking to validate your account balance or if you want to redeem for "daily" rewards, the app seems to work fine. However, if you want to check out the advertised specials (one example in my case the advanced boxing day sales), you will find yourself in a spiral of doom as the links will either fail altogether or keep bringing you back to the login page. May as well use your browser, just as easy and less frustrating.

Not a good app. Interface not design for mobile phone, it looks like a web page, you have to zoom in to read the different sections of a page. The app keeps asking for my Aeroplan number (who remembers this? Well, I do now!) and password. Many instances of unresponsive server.

I was able to use the app up until everything was filled in but when clicking on "Accept and Book" to finalize the transaction the button just wouldn't do anything. I scoured all of the info, there were no errors appearing and everything appeared to be filled in correctly but the button was just unresponsive. Frustrating after downloading, installing the app and filling everything out to end up having to go home and do it all again on a laptop.

Badly broken app. I have not been able to log in for months just got "Technical Issue" message. Tried, clearing cache, clearing data, then finally tried re-installing. I was able to log in the first time, then back to: "Technical issue....." It was never a good app, but it was at least usable. Now just plain broken.

Terrible. Not just the app but the service as well. Everything leads to an external website. You can't do anything with your profile on the app. If you call aeroplan customer service they're not empathetic at all. At least act that you care about your clients. Disappointed and would not recommend this to anyone.

W T F ! When successfully logged on, with "Remember Me" checked, I either keep getting booted off when advancing through their links or their links are not recognized. In either case I'm having to type in my user name and password, multiple times per visit. Completely unacceptable. I'm thinking I'm going to have to cash out and cancel my Aeroplan account because my access to my account is far too aggravating.

I was charged $172,26 twice. Informed to stay on phone for 30 mins to resolve issue. Issue they caused was resolved and without suggestion of how can they make it right. I believe good conpanies would have apologized and provided maybe a free upgrade or a few thousand miles (not a lot really). Air Canada is great but Aeroplan gauges the point colectors hard. Also could not resolve issue on App... had to call and wait...

The app does not allow you to access all functionality of website. Unfortunately, when using the website on an android phone, the app is brought up automatically. On the android chrome browser, one cannot login easily to the website, so you have to use the app. Trying the "contact option" on aeroplan website to leave msg brings up app with note that you can call aeroplan. If i am on the app, i probably don't want to speak to anyone. Not great implementation.

The app is functional, however, if a flight is unavailable, they may still have that flight listed... Also, that flight may still be available, but just raised in price, and you will not know till you start over. What would make this app more effective is realtime updates. Ultimately, it worked. Still annoying though; and I do realize this is more an Aeroplan thing rather than the Aeroplan App thing.

I used the app to book my flight for the first time, and I was stalled because I couldn't actually 'accept and book' (it was still greyed out). Turns out you need to ensure your name is entered in and it wasn't easy to find. Customer service had to assist me, and I felt pretty silly, but she assured me that it was a common occurence.

It is very user friendly, easy and convenient. 4 stars because after I chose the flight I wanted and midway through the process of entering my booking info the app kicked me out. When I logged back in, the same flight cost more miles.

App is fairly decently laid out, but after confirming the flights and ready to pay the Accept and Pay button was greyed out and not hints anywhere as to what i was missing. Turns out i hadn't selected a passenger profile but i only discovered this by looking at another person's feedback on the play store. The other issue i had was in scanning my card..it works but you have to completely fill the orange frame with the card and if you don't it just sits there saying "keep the card here ..

You make a booking which half completes due to AeroPlan breakage. They pop up a phone number to call to complete, except this number doesn't work outside the US. You then call AeroPlan which just keeps hanging up on you with a message they are overloaded. In the mean time the clock is ticking and booking will expire since it's impossible to get through due to the sheer incompetence of AeroPlan! Bravo!

For those having issues with the Aeroplan app, I just found out that they launched a new app. Search 'Aeroplan' and the new app should come up as 'Air Canada+Aeroplan'. Wished they had notified us about the new app. This app crashes when I open but for the 1 second it launches, I can see that the opening page says to install the new app.

Every time I try to use the Aeroplan website, it launches this garbage app. An app that does not have all the capabilities that are included on the website. So incredibly frustrating trying to use the website to launch Amazon's website to earn aeroplan points. This terrible app just keeps popping up and not allowing me to do so, or even see other online retailers on their website which earns you points since all it does is launch this garbage app.

No option to use phone's security to login, need both password & email OTP to log in every time! Looks nice and reacts faster than the site, but not worth the hassle. Also only recognizes a single aeroplan credit card when you might have 2 or more.
