AFD Airport Facility Dir Free
- realtime GPS detects nearest airports and displays. While in the air it's assumed you don't have radio on (except GPS) so access to other internet-based information isn't available. This is a self-contained application that has all airports in the US. Currently excludes private airports to save size. GPS accuracy is NOT dependable (device dependent and not certified) so be a prepared pilot and use this as a supplemental information source while in the air.
Location aware, provides FAA airports within 30 miles of your position. Great for having Control tower, CTAF, Unicom, Ground handy while you're flying or taxiing. Updates as you fly, in a battery friendly way.

I can't open the program with my Motorola G3 cellphone (It says File 28d); however it does open on my Samsung Tab A tablet perfectly. I don't get it!

Gives you nearby airport information without needing a network connection. Just GPS turned on.

There's no search so it's almost pointless.

No way of searching airports, it will ONLY give you airports that are near once it finally gets your position figured out...
You can't search, look up, or locate anything farther than your immediate area. No one wants to know only airports that are15 nm away. Needs more.

Good for accessing nearby airport info. Would like to be able to look up info ahead of time also. Would be worth a large download. Droid Inc.
nice app would be nice to be able to pull up airports by designator and have private fields included in the nearby airports search
Of little use, finds a few airports, not all. No ATIS. Cannot look ahead.

Works great for the limited info it provides. Needs to add more details like hours, surface type, diagram, and ability to type any airport code.

not bad however this app does not address the primary reason I wanted this afd. There are no pics of airports and or taxiway info in diagram format. If this could be udated, this would be a fantastic app
