Horrible app! It takes forever to connect with the Horizon treadmill. I keep having to unplug the treadmill and reboot my tablet so they talk to each other. My last 3 days of history were lost. I configured the custom workout and it worked great once. The second time it just ran at .5 mph for one minute then stopped. The app shows the correct workout but it's not getting to the treadmill. At this point I've disconnected the Bluetooth and just run the treadmill from the console. App is useless.

This app needs a lot of work. When you start a workout it goes to a black screen and flashes characters from a foreign language. It does not save any workout history. The app user interface is very basic and more importantly it is dated and ugly. I have the 7.8AT and the app connects every time, but is useless as the screen goes black and it doesn't save any workouts and so has nothing to send to partner apps. We have only used the app to change the names of users, beyond that we don't use it.

If I could give it 0 stars I would. The app sometimes connects to my Treadmill. When it connects, it is so buggy. Even though I connected it to Fitbit and MyFitnessPas, it does not send any data It does not save workouts once you are done. I just take a screenshot of my data and enter it manually. This has the potential to be a great app but it needs a lot of work.

The best thing about the app is that you don't have to pay for it. The only good thing you can use it for is as a controller, if it even connects to the machine that is. Sometimes it works other times you spend 30 minutes turning the treadmill and your device on and off trying to get it to connect. Most importantly it saves no information, it may do it once in a blue moon but not all the time and if you have a fitbit, it may sync the information or it may not.

The App is not reliable, disconnects periodically during a workout, does not synch to fitbit like its supposed to. When i contacted support, their advice was use the tablet app, but there is no fitbit connectivity. That was one of the selling points of the treadmill. Before anyone asks, yes its the latest firmware. I am hoping to see an update here soon.

This app is a pain in the rear. It takes forever to connect to the treadmill via bluetooth and never saves my workout data. It doesn't stay synced with the treadmill, either, and apparently saves data for only one workout per user per day. If the app is part of the reason you are considering buying a Horizon treadmill, it's not worth it. Yes, the treadmill has the latest firmware update.

This app does not integrate to the MapMyRun programs as promised. It doesn't remember settings from workout to workout. These are two of the reasons I bought the Horizon Fitness 7.0 AT Studio Treadmill. If you're going to promote your product as having a useful application then it makes sense to most people that you continue to develop the application. The app should: Integrate to the other apps/platforms as advertised and be available offline from the exercise equipment so that programming and customization are available. The app should also grow with the technology. Tech today is not the same as it was the last time you provided an update. Stick with it and follow through. Good customer service is not a one and done scenario.

Once connected, I go to User 1, try and hit edit, then it says disconnected. This is one of the worst apps I've ever used. Edit: I did update the console firmware on 7.0 AT to 3.0001 and now it connects. Was able to change User 1 to my name and select a run style. Now on to figuring out how to show heart rate somewhere (it's a Wahoo Tickr, no documentation anywhere...).

The apps failings are pretty well documented by other reviewers. With all the issues, it still works most of the time in my experience. It would be great if it were possible to sync with third party apps like Strava. Having that ability would excuse a lot of its other failings in my opinion.

I've edited my original review: If you are having a hard time connecting to the app via Bluetooth it is likely that there is a FIRMWARE update for your machine. After installing via USB, I was able to immediately connect. This was not mentioned in the instructions incl w/ the machine nor the details in the app store. The app now works as expected. -1 for lack of dev support w/in the store. Clearly users could use a little direction.

This app does not work from phone for syncing. History cannot be seen. It can only select and start user and any other settings that you can aleady do in console. While trying to sync it shows some chinese message and error code. However I was able to use my tablet and sync to atleast fitbit ( i am doing trial and error to figure out which app it works better). Update** i have to login everytime to fitbit to sync. This app should not even be available from phone if it does not work.

Took about 2mins to connect to my Horizon 7.4AT but I beleive it's because I tried to use the bluetooth setting on my phone, I think you must let the app make the connection, ensure you have the latest firmware for your treadmill if purchased before Dec 2020. After that it worked fine. However the app shows you what you can can already see on the console, you can control the treadmill from the app but what's the point. Main advantage to this app is it keeps your workout history and your name.

Useless app. Brand new 7.0 AT treadmill, installed app on tablet that has all required features (BT 4.0, etc). App will not connect to treadmill at all, waited several minutes. Powered down the treadmill, rebooted tablet.. never connects. I never get the BT button to light up on the console, so I'm fairly sure that indicates the app isn't connecting. I had tried the AFG Fitness app, it at least connected, and also seemed to update my user profile info on the treadmill. Just refused to start a program.

**EDIT** See other comments in here regarding updating the machines software. It's a bit of a convoluted process and unfortunate that users have to take these steps. But once taken, the app will connect. However mine still does not log history of use. Once a workout is finished, it literally has zeros across-the-board as if the workout didn't occur. So... What's the point?

If you use a different device , there isn't a sign in to.retrieve your workout history. It's basic design is simple and should work. The details and end user experience needs to improve. Otherwise there other programs in either app store working better. Please address these concerns

Horrible, absolutely no use at all. Will connect to speaker no issue. But will not connect to console for in-app use. This app should not even be allowed on the app store. Tried with table and phone, both devices same result. It'll say it's connected but when start use it in app then will get an error "unable to get machine information".

Terrible, buggy, almost unusable garbage. It takes way too long to pair. Sometimes I have to shut down the treadmill, force-close the app and clear the cache just to get it to pair. I had to use my tablet (Samsung Galaxy Tab E SM-T560NU) to link with Fitbit, but it immediately crashes as soon as a workout begins. The screen goes black and then flashes Chinese characters. I love my Horizon treadmill, but I hate this app with the fire of an infinite number of suns...

Jas. S. Sep 28, 2020

Terrible!!! Should be zero stars because the app doesn't work at all. Will say it's connected to the treadmill but then errors out saying it can't get info from treadmill. Tried on multiple devices that have no issues connecting to my other devices via bluetooth. Bought the Horizon 7.0AT specifically for the ability to use the app....such false advertisement.

Don. F. Feb 26, 2021

Worked with Johnson tech support - they sent flash drive with new software for treadmill. Now the app connects (slowly) but does nothing to retain history, or upload to fitbit or Map My Run. I am Uninstalling as soon as I complete this review. Love my treadmill. Hate the app. Interesting the last app update was may 2020. In 9 months they couldn't manage any fixes?

R. G. May 9, 2021

Tried this app as the other AFG app hasn't been updated in years and doesn't work, alas, this one tells me to download the other app...which doesn't work. Both apps are worthless and I can't use the features of the treadmill. Don't bother downloading and if you're reading reviews before buying a treadmill, consider a different one with updated software and compatible apps that actually work.

Horrible. Doesn't do anything it's supposed to do. It takes forever to connect if it connects at all. Doesn't store previous workouts. Worst app I've ever installed and now uninstalled.
