African Birds Sounds Free
Featuring the African Emerald Cuckoo,Black, White Casqued Hornbill, Black Throated Apalis Yellow Longbill and many more birds!
Bird Sounds can be played by tapping on a bird picture. All sounds can be saved as Ringtones, Notifications and Alarms by long pressing on a bird and selecting the relevant option.
Birds can be grouped by family or alphabetical order (with and without headings) using the Menu Settings.
A Birdwatching checklist is included allowing you to tick off birds you have seen. Tapping on a bird on the checklist screen allows you to view more information about the bird on Wikipedia or perform an image search via Google images.
Personal Lists can be created too! Create a list of your favorite birds, or add birds that you've seen on a recent bird watching trip. Birds can be added to your lists from the checklist screen.
Mini games are also included helping you to learn the different birds found in this app: Guess the Picture, Guess the Sound and Guess the Name.
In App Billing is supported via the 'Remove Ads' button. Upon purchasing this upgrade this app will not serve any advertisements. All future app updates will also not receive any adverts too.
Permissions are required for saving birds sounds and displaying advertisements.All images and sounds used are royalty free.

Uninstalled because ticking sightings was very frustrating. The box to tick confuses itself with the scroll bar because they are too close to each other. Could also do with more birds in the collection, but it's free so can't complain too much about that.
Easy to use, great free app. Needs a much larger catalog, and filters for regions.
the list of birds is too short, and background sounds too loud.

Very limited amount of birds, lots of background noise. Please update with more birds and clear sounds!
You hear some other sounds
The bird calls are mostly second rate - almost all have high levels if background / environmental clutter although the calls are identifiable in general I guess thus is the price we pay for "free"
Excellent application, needs more birds.maybe in future incorporate ability to record bird calls and the app identifies the bird for you
If you only know the common names of birds, this app is Not for you.
the app appears great BUT it has maybe 10% of South African birds with a few birds from other parts of Africa. The selection of birds is too small to be worth the effort. therefore a waste of time. Add the 500 Newmans bird calls to the list with the applicable images and you would have an app worth installing and using.
