Amazing! It's as easy as they say, just draw some doodle-like lines to mark focus and blur areas, adjust the blur level, and you're done. The results are as great as ones taken with high-end smartphones, if not better. I only wish that the marking pens and makings' colors can be customized or at least changed instead of just greys and reds, respectively.
The selection of the object takes time and the resulting selection is usually far from something that you could achieve with PhotoShop for example. But this seems to be the best app of its kind especially since I really like the bokeh effect that it produces. All other apps seem to offer only a gaussian blur which looks clearly different from a real focus blur.
This is a great app but we dont get that blunt blur. The focus, medium focus, and out of focus is way too different and can be easily identified. You already have a fading option but thats two sided most of the time we need one sided fading. Please add opacity blur option for each focus range in manual brush. Also add option to switch from manual to smart mode without loosing selection. OVERALL GREAT APPLICATION.๐๐๐
This app is not necessarily the only one of it's kind, but where those alternate apps try as hard as possible to end up only making whomever using them look more like amateurs! Whereas Afterfocus does Everything it proclaims to do, on top of a whole lot more & pretty much no matter what you do in the app, the results consistently end up looking like they've been editted by professionals us enterprise level editing software! Thanks for making my pics look so damn good!
I love this app, as someone who does a ton of editing away from photoshop this is a great little on the go app, I have tons of photo editing apps but this is the best I've seen for drawing in blur, so much quicker to do with the system it uses, one thing I think it's missing is a good crop. Would be great if you could use your tactic to crop Individual items out of the pic as a separate stick/layer so you could use it for parallax or changing background etc
Can you add more choices in the Fading BG option, please? Like free rotate or manual or auto fading bg, and making its length adjustable, not just vertical and horizontal with length across the full image. Not always my shots are vertical or horizontal, it could be an angle shot with a small subject sometimes. I would rate it 5 stars for that. Anyways this is the best auto blur app that I've on playstore and it's fricking easy to use.
Couldn't figure out how to use it. Instructions were 2 sentences. Says something about tapping the menu at the bottom to change background colors - there is no menu at the bottom! Couldn't figure out the difference between icons - person, trees, mountains? Eye icon makes everything disappear? Nothing blurred automatically like other reviewers are saying. After 30 minutes of frustration, I deleted it.
Practically useless app in that there are absolutely no instructions on its use. Pick a button and move your cursor around the screen and see what happens then try the next one. There are other apps which are faster, simpler, and less annoying which help you achieve the bokeh effect you"re looking for. UNINSTALLING!
It is a usable application for when you have no alternative. I have seen some reviews from people believing that the bokeh effect needs to be built into a camera. Just to clarify some confusion, the bokeh effect is a side effect of the apeture (f stops) and focal length ( how many mm your lens is set to. A more telephoto lens (lets say 200mm) and a low apeture (F1.4) will make a blurrier background than an 18mm lens at F22. Back to my experience using the app, its useful when things go wrong.
Overall, this is one of my most used apps for photo editing. It's very simple, but also very powerful, and versatile! Human subjects work very well! However sometimes animals can be tricky but I'd say 7/10 times it's fairly easy to get what I want out it.
Awesome app A+++ hats off to the developers, Best app to refocus your photos, (note to the developers: please add more smart tools to separate subject's hair and background(I know it's a challenging task but hope you guys will find new methods to improve it) , also if we can add a little feather in between foreground and background to smooth out the edges that would be great too(in that way we can smooth the hard edges in subject's edges) Thank you so much for developing this great app <3
Absolutely great. Works like magic. One major flaw is there. The feather feature does not work for very close blurred things. They look blurred but their edge is sharp even after setting feather to max. Probably it makes feather around non-blurred foreground objects and not around blurred objects.
Nice app. AI is great. Two suggestions for improvement: -Make it possible to let AI choose area by default (the check box to remember settings is not available for AI -- this may be a bug) -Optimize your saving algorithm so full size picture savings takes less time. Or at least add additional size options (bigger than current maximum but smaller than full)
I spent 20 minutes of my life I'll never get back. How can I do the same thing 5 times & get different results each time smh. It's just me in the photo, I want the background blurred out. 1 time, half of me is blurred out. Another time just my arms. None of the times is the background blurred out. If I marked the background, guess what? I'm blurred & the background is clear. Mark me & everything is blurred. Better off using bokeh on your camera as you take the pic
Dis is 1 of the best apps I've ever used. It let's u record the exact shape u want to edit on the pictures. The blury background is amazing, and I like the fact dat it let's u redo some of the work without u having to erase everything. I would always use dis app to edit my pics.
This is an amazing app. It saves me money because I can do my own Professional Photoshoot. However, whenever I edit the pictures and save them, the quality of the pictures are reduced. I need help!!!
App blur is excellent, but one spectacular thing is missing and that is ability to import depth map along side image and use it for blurring photo, please add use depth map as one of the method for blurring photo, as this is the most reliable and professional way to blur photos accurately, thanks
Best app for those who don't have additional camera for blur picture . Specially old smart phone. Probably it has more functions and menu then the new smart phone who have blur camera along with hardware and software. Dont waste your precious time and data downloading other apps . This is best among the best.
At my glance it is the best app in the Play Store.. I've used many photo editing apps.. But it's the best in it... Photo editing is like DSLR.. You have to know how to edit, there are many who can not edit and the rating goes down.. I highly recommend to download the app.. If you want to save high quality or original quality of the photo you can use its pro version... And it's a good job to take automatic blur..
Smart tool doesn't work. I tried using it on brand new pictures I took that had clear contrasting elements - black cat against a white wall. When I selected the black cat to be the subject of focus, it thought I wanted the entire picture.
The blur was okay.. the only thing i hate about this app is when i save the photo it reduces the actual image size. I hope they'll atleast give me an option weather to save it in actual size of not in the next update. ๐
It's not too hard to use once you get the hang of it but it absolutely destroys the photo quality of any picture you import to edit. It makes the whole photo more blurry before any effects are even added.
One the best. Not fully automatic, but more precise since you have more control and gives more levels of blur within one image. I like it.
I can see that the developers are not replying to the comments. But still I will ask devs to add some more features, it's just a suggestion for my side. Hope they see this. Plz Add the feature of depth nd different shapes of bokeh. I had focos app on iPhone but now I switched to android which I love but couldn't find any app to match it except for urs. Plzzzzzz if you could add features like that app, that would be grateful. This will become the best app on android for photography purposesโค
I've tried many apps so far, one of the best apps to create the bokeh effect. Hopefully in future can make it more automated and easy. Definitely I will install the full version.
It rarely works. The blur just isn't happening when I make adjustments. It has before, but isn't now which is an issue I've had before. The app is good in theory, but not reliable in practice.
Pretty good app overall. However, please increase integration with Google Photos. I would like to be able to use the "Edit In" function of Google Photos to go directly to the AfterFocus app from it. It takes too long trying to find the photo I want to edit from the app itself. Also, there should be a way to increase/decrease the sensitivity of the "smart select."
