Age of Civilizations Africa

Age of Civilizations is a turn-based strategy game in which your object is to dominate the world.

• Maps:
- Africa | [436 Provinces]

• Orders are submitted before each round. The number of orders you can submit during each round is limited by your Movement Points for that round.
• After orders are submitted, civilizations execute actions in turn order, which is randomized at the start of each round.

• Map
- The capital is the most important province in a civilization. If you lose your capital for 3 turns, your civilization will no longer exist. If you capture another civilization’s capital, you obtain all of its provinces. Capitals have a defensive bonus: +15% and an offensive bonus: +15%. Capitals have all buildings already constructed.
- Transparent provinces are neutral. Provinces with color belong to other civilizations.
- You can scale the map. To go back to the standard scale, double tap the map. If scale is other than standard on minimap you can see '!' in top right.
- Use the Economy and Population buttons to view each province’s Economy and Population values. Use the diplomacy button to view each province’s owner and engage in diplomacy (see Orders
- Diplomacy View).

• Treasury
- Money is added to your treasury through income tax, which is based off your civilization’s total population and economy. Money is subracted from your treasury for military upkeep, which is based off your amount of military units (units at sea have a higher upkeep than units on land).

• Orders
- Normal View
- Move: move units from one province to another. You can move between provinces you control or attack another civilization’s province.
- Recruit: recruit units from the selected province. This costs money and is limited by the population of the province. Recruiting from a province reduces its population.
- Build: construct a building in the selected province (see Building Types). This costs money.
- Disband: remove units from the selected province. This decreases military upkeep.
- Vassal: creates a vassal state with another civilization.
- Annex: brings a vassal state back under your full control.

• Orders
- Diplomacy View
- War: declare war on a civilization.
- Peace: submit a peace offer to a civilization. If accepted, your civilizations will no longer be at war.
- Pact: submit a pact offer to a civilization. If accepted, the civilizations cannot attack each other for five rounds. This can be canceled through a War order one round in advance.
- Alliance: submit an alliance offer to a civilization. If accepted, that civilization will aid you in your military efforts. Use the War order to let allies know who your targets are.
- Kick: end an alliance with a civilization.
- Support: give money to a civilization.

• Building Types
- Fort: gives a province a defense bonus.
- Watch tower: allows you to see army numbers in neighboring provinces.
- Port: allows units to move into the sea. Units at sea can move back onto any land province, even if it doesn’t have a port.

A good strategy game but the reliance on auto-save every 2 turns instead of manual save does cause problems. You lose progress if you forget whether you have just passed a save point and there is no backup if the save gets corrupted. I lost several hours playtime on my last game due to a corrupted save file.

repetitive, zoom is too sensitive, moving and recruiting should either always be at max or have an option for the user to select the default, i rather go with every unit most of the time. tutorial leaves some references behind the explanation (ie. numbers, or even my starting province) some stuff on the edges of the map end up behind the ux. less provinces would make for a faster game. the treasury history and population charts don't seem useful (put it on a side menu with cfg). bad button colors

Fun, but buggy. I played a game of Scramble for Africa and was doing fairly well, but the save game got deleted when I attempted to load it. Also, the tutorial started me as Iceland without a capital, making it impossible to complete. Overall, a simple and fun game, but too buggy to charge for.

To those saying you're losing touch controls or the game is 'unresponsive' or 'buggy'. Theyre talking about clicking Yes and No for dialog for alliance and pacts. This is due to announcement ribbon in the background. You gotta click at the very top tip of the Yes/No button to click Yes or No. Otherwise, the game controls were fine. The gameplay is simply addictive.

would love to play this game as i previously had the original on my old phone but my pixel 2 seems to have problems with them now. every time i try to start a game it is laggy, choppy, and slow beyond belief and I cannot play it. hopefully you see this as i would like to continue supporting your games!

I absolutely love the game, its super addictive. The only problem I have is that sometimes when I load up a saved game, it would sometimes fail and delete the save game. Still love the game and I really wish you'll fix this problem please. Thank you

one of the best games I've downloaded, if your in to turn based strategy this is the one for you. highly recommend. more intricate diplomacy would be great, but apart from that its amazingly fun for being so simple and easy to get into.

Fun game, but... I made a break at turn 32 and when I wanted to resume playing, the game said that there was an error and that it deleted my saved game. Not going to waste more time if savegames aren't reliable.

I like this game. but it has a few flaws. the first is that the bigger nations dominate. secondly the game crashes when i try to pick a nation in random. One thing that I hope is added is multiple players instead of one.

I mean, its a fun game but i have some segestions First off, as a matter of opinion, i think the game could be more complicated. You could fx. Add some more mechanics like supply routs, infastructure and more. Second off, i would like a game where it is possible to be at peace for atleast 2-3 turns, which is hard to optain in the game. Last, maybe add peace treaties, where you could accuraly mannage the terretory you annex and puppet and so on. The game could be worked on, but is good too.

Wished some mechanics like peace and non agreastion pacts were explained more clearly before I started playing. I would also like some more variety in tge gameplay, like a different mode or a pvp/pve mode (pass and play or online). Ok nontheless.

this is okay to play, but plauged with problem that probably won't be touched anymore 1. idiotic and aggressive ai: the ai can be too aggressive as they can ask for non aggression pacts, and declares war a few turns later, and can up to half a million troops on a province or two, not to mention multiple nations can gang up on the player, securing defeat especially small nation. it's even worse when the ai verses each other, often declaring wars they can't fight because they are across the map,

When the game worked it was great, however if I ever zoomed out/in the game would get extremely slow and laggy. This would not go away even if you zoomed in. Before I would zoom in/out the game would run at a solid 45-50 fps.

Lost progress in Scrambled Africa or sth after long playtime. Safe saving is an important feature. Edit: Oczywiście czekam na update i wtedy zmieniam ocenę ;) edit: too laggy and buggy, unistalling edit: lost progress again (feb 2019)

Extremely poor performance—scrolling around the map seems to happen at ~2 FPS. The game play is incredibly boring. Far too much clicking next. The UI is terrible.

Ste. J. Feb 7, 2019

Great addition to the A of E series but for some reason I had gotten an error message when I tried to load a saved game. Also I was never able to retrieve the saved game.

Small size app is huge + ! A small wish for a bit more interesting/terrain graphics/also Total unit limit +Territory unit limit as settings options. Thank you for your works! : -)

Fun af but I've been having an issue where my save gets deleted or when I go onto my Scramble for Africa save all the countries have been changed including my own which is getting really annoying.

Moderate learning curve, could use a simpler interface for starting your first game. Turn orders are random.

Al. S. May 12, 2020

Interesting concept, but the gameplay didn't work for me, and the controls kind of sucked. I uninstalled it pretty quickly.

SFF. Feb 5, 2019

The UI and performance really needs improvements in my opinion. But the gameplay is indeed pretty good and addicting.

Lau. M. Sep 22, 2019

Badly worked. Lousy A.I. that won't try that hard to fight back at you. You're unable to cancel an action (recruit/move) after directing it (but before ending the turn). Puts you on impossible scenarios on some modes (WW1 - Liberia - Expert will pit you against France; that has 90+ provinces, while you have 4; surrounds you completely on all your borders; and will readily war you rather than even think about pacts. WW1 Greece has 1 province and again there are 90-tile enemies all around).

everytime I save a game and try and load it, it gives an error and deletes the save game. almost unplayable without the ability to save

Jas. F. Apr 4, 2019

It seemed like a fun game when I first downloaded it, but all your do I create troops and take over other countries. Not as much strategy as I expected.

Age of History Africa Purchased! because turn on landscape mode and click achievements, hall of fame and leaderboards is crashed.

ant. b. Feb 7, 2019

I love it but it gets boring after a while different types of units for each country would be great like if you add tank, infinity, helicopters, maybe boats

Ree. S. L. Jan 16, 2019

The gameplay can be quite enjoyable at times, but the fact that save games keep deleting on me is absolutely ridiculous.

Ria. S. Nov 21, 2018

The UI gets in the way too much so you can't really see what you're doing. I imagine it would work better on a tablet

Hey, I have a little problem, the navigation bar appear on top of the game so I can't use the next turn button, I have Galaxy S9+ with android 9.0
