The most useless, annoying, broken app I have ever used. Works 2% of the time, the rest of the time it's stuck in a loop. No amount of uninstalling and updating fixes it. Even customer service can't help, and the whole time I'm locked out of purchasing anything online. Unbelievable mess of a system, created for a problem that never existed.
Quite possibly the worst app I've ever experienced. UX is shocking, clearly not made by professionals. Extremely difficult to navigate, takes too many clicks to complete any task, absolutely no feedback to the user if a task cannot be complete, often met with blank screens. It's not difficult to look at apps like Revolut or Monzo and see how much better the UX is. Your UX team has broken every usability rule. As a UX designer I can easily say this app is the worst yet, shocking.
I've had to do the "one time" setup multiple times, and on most recent it just doesn't work. Keeps throwing an error message. And I can't log into the website without this app. So I'm locked out of my bank account now. Thanks AIB! EDIT: It's now been five months and this app is still broken. Ive cleared the cache and reinstalled multiple times. Still nothing. I've had to open an account with Bank of Ireland and just give up on AIB
Opens a new tab in my browser every time I log in. App freezes or shows a blank screen very often. Doesn't allow me to link my savings account to Revolut (even for just analytics). Menu system is confusing, categories should be rethought. Notifications for approval of purchases/sign in disappear milliseconds after appearing, or do nothing after opening them. Fingerprint login sometimes bugs out since I have an underscreen fingerprint scanner. Messages sections has perstitent opt in/out message.
Very hit and miss implementation of payment verification for online purchases. Sometimes takes 3/4/5 attempts to go through the process of verifying the purchase with the app throwing errors at random. Notifications won't trigger unless the app is open in the background either. So I have to open and then go to my home screen before clicking purchase. Have deleted/reinstalled to no avail. My credit union and revolut verifications are flawless so it's not the device/fingerprint reader.
The worst app I've ever used. It's no wonder Challenge Banks are taking so much market share. When I could login, the app wasn't authenticating online payments, so I was told to re-install it. Now it won't let me sign into the app at all, the screen just stalls and reverts back to Login in screen.... unbelievable 🙄
Used to work fine up to a few months ago. Since then I've had times where I can't log in and, from time to time, I don't receive the payment authorization notification when making online payments, so the payment is declined. These are your core features AIB, sort it out. I've been an AIB customer for nearly 10 years. I'm thinking about changing banks due to this mess of an app.
Junk patetic junk notifications for inline purchases often either don't arrive or when confirmed won't make the purchase complete. You can see by the number of redirects and screen changes that it has been coded by incompetents led by a chief incompetent to which my kuddos go for destroying a bank reputation. This has gone on forever. Get lost!
Tried to get a bank account over the app. I finalised the identification once but my account never showed up in the system. I tried to do the identification again and it never worked. Even reinstalling the app did not help. Embarrassing. I went on to another bank.
Truly infuriating app. The log in sends you around in an infinite loop, impossible to access my account. Buying online is a nightmare since the latest update, I can't confirm purchases in the app. The app is so dodgy it makes the bank seem untrustworthy
The basic banking service simply no longer works. Every transaction is failing. There are awful wait times and it is pointless phoning the customer service telephone number, as it can do nothing to fix the technical issues caused by the banks poor technology. After 20 years with AIB, I have been left with no choice but to transfer banks because it simply does not work.
Woeful app. Constantly doing a security update when trying to open the app. Hit and miss whether it will be a successful log in or not. Very annoying when trying to make an online purchase which inevitably doesn't happen thanks to the app acting the boll*x
Problems for months with online transfers or trying to buy something online. Been onto aib helpcare numerous times and they've never even heard of the errors im experiencing with the app. Unfortunately going to have to change bank as they are incapable of fixing it.
Worried. It goes on about security etc and says its texting me a code to input but the page was already populated with the code before receiving text. Not too confident in this app. Doesn't allow international payments. Doesn't allow you set up payees. Useless.
Can't make it work. I have notifications "on" and my number is correct. It is totally hit and miss. Sometimes I get an SCA and I confirm the purchase. Just now, as has often happened, I am unable to book a flight. The fare will probably increase. I can only use my credit card because of the insurance. This inability to pay has often happened abroad going to pay for hotel stays...very embarrassing!!! .I get a screen telling me shopping has changed and to get with it. Useless card for me.
Impossible to login. It's a long, drawn out convoluted process that ultimately results in failure. Tap Continue, enter details. Get forwarded to one check, then another, timeout, security error, try again. If you cannot log in, what's the point of a banking app? Seems I'm not the only one impacted based on other's comments.
This App is atrocious. Considering how much AIB charge every quarter of the year I'd expect the app to at least work. Yes it does its purpose after you log in 3 maybe 4 times but it's time consuming and frustrating. In this day and age I'd expect something like a banking app to run alot smoother. It actually doesn't feel secure when you're having to log in numerous times. I never had problems with it before but the update they made ruined it.
Your purchase verification feature is broken. 10 times I tried to make an online purchase and all ten of those attempts were met with your apps verification telling me it had timed out and I need to cancel my order and try again. Seriously, why is this a thing we need to do when making online purchases? We shouldn't need your permission to buy things with OUR cards.
No stars for this app. Didn't want it but taught it would do me some good getting one backing. Being with aib since I was 4 years old. 28 years. Never had a problem with them. Now I'm thinking of changing bank. App won't let me doing anything. Can't buy online. Can't get into app at all. Doesn't reco give my device. Can't pay rent. Can't uninstall. This is messed up.. I'm stuck now since I got this stupid app no more ikea or amazon. Bank of Ireland here I come.................. ............. ..
More often doesn't work. Push notifications for online shopping rarely work. And transferring funds often won't work either. It seems to have a big problem authenticating as you log in. I am seriously considering moving bank as this App is so poor and frustrating.
Can't login to check my account on the app or on the web. Your custoner service is awol from 5pm to 9am and your card help service won't pick up the phone. Please fix your services. Thank you. Btw, up till today, everything was fine. I appreciate that things are difficult at the moment.
This app was great until they updated it earlier this year. Almost impossible to login. I just spend over 25 minutes trying and failing to login as it was stuck in an endless loop. If you are lucky enough to get past the first login hurdle, it asks you to enable security updates which are already enabled on my account(it still asks me over 6 months after enabling them) and then once you click on that 95% of the time it logs you out again! Seriously considering changing banks. 1 star is too much!
