This app is used to be a very good tool for developing app/apk using Android device. But, it won't open now. It's always closed by itself the moment I open/run it. I've been trying with several phones, but nothing satisfying. As I remember, I couldn't open it when using Android 9 and up. I'm currently using Android 11. 3 stars for now. Hoping a real fix for Android 9 and up devices.
The screenshots of the app used in the tutorial is different from that of the app I purchased from play store. The design menu for example is not on my version of the app. Since this is a paid App, information should be up to date. In addition, the compiled app keep crashing after installation.
Doesn't work anymore on later versions. Don't buy. I bought this after buying a premium key for aide..which shifted to subscription, making the premium key worth nothing.
I am satisfied with the product as a whole! However, I am very disappointed that integration with Dropbox is broken..
I see new bad review and as a developer i can say the issue is your android version.. android os is the only os i have programmed that every update removes substantial compatibility compared to other operating systems and even in the ide
Installed in my Samsung Tab S4 and Note 9. The app crashes as soon as I open it on both devices.
App won't even run on my Note 10, shuts down instantly. Used to love this app, bought key. Useless now.
works well. except on really large code base. is there a way to disable code analysis? it keeps running out of memory on my samsumg j7.
Does not work on Android 11 AND 12
Does not work on Samsung galaxy Tab A 2019. Don't buy if you want to use it on that.
On two of my devices now I cannot get your phonegap to stay on my new totally wireless view phone
Down to 3 stars since it keeps crashing all the time on latest devices android 11+ and not maintained during the last years. It works on android 10 if you have it.
Didn't bother with phone gap in the end, just used this to compile a simple chrome webview app (chrome webview is built into android from KitKat onwards). Worked a treat! So yeah, does compile Java as well.
After talking to the developers they did finally update and it works, pretty great tool. I only hope the developers appfour see the potential of this app, and continue to provide support and update. Thank you for the tool.
It works! For a programmer, the rest is superficial.... But amazingly considered by the app. Nice job on a project that cannot halt anytime soon.
I see error in build.gradle "project dependency ':library' not found". I cloned git repository but it is not included into the app.
Now u can code on my phone this is amazing thank you, it was worth it!
Dear developers please add more themes with menu
Good job! But how can I set android pernissions? Please reply
Why would you sell a plug-in that doesn't plug in ?
What's the point of this IDE if Google Play rejects apps built with it? The reason for rejection is that it needs to get updated to Cordova 3.5.1 that fixes severe security vulnerabilities. The only way to work around this is to re-write huge chunks of your code to use the highly incompatible new Cordova SDK and rebuild it on your own on a computer - thus completely negating any reason to use this IDE to code on your phone. I have wasted months of my free time on a project that I must now abandon
The Cordova version used is old, and there's no way to upgrade it. After repeated inquiry about appfour updating the app I've received no reply. Google is no longer accepting apps made with the out of date version of Cordova used by this app. Still a great IDE as long as you don't plan to distribute your app on the Google Play Store.
I was super excited to see that there was a Cordova version of this app, having purchased the android version a long time ago. Simple apps are pretty easy to get up and running. But for serious development on the go there are a few more things I would love to see. 1. Integration of bower package management. I don't hardly do anything with Web Development without bower, and bringing in third party Javascript libraries is tedious at best. 2. Git providers other than github please. 3. Starting a new project based one of the thousands of seed repositories on github. Clone the repo then make it mine (on bitbucket). There's no other way to get something serious done quickly. 4. Ionic integration would be really cool, but perhaps impractical on this platform.
There seems to be a bug in the JavaScript Syntax Checker of the AIDE Phonegap edition. If an object uses or redefines a reserved word for some other purpose than is defined in the standard, the syntax checker shows this as an error, when in fact it's allowed. This means that some third party libraries that actually run perfectly well are shown to have a lot of errors. The application compiles and runs fine. However this problem floods own ones own errors during development. It would be nice to be able to redefine this behaviour or at least have the option for the IDE to ignore certain groups of files (e.g. known good third party libraries). Since this is a developer tool - I would like to see better support - such as bug trackers and so on.
Can't compile my project because some of Polymer's libraries have "JavaScript errors" even though it works perfectly fine everywhere else. Why is there no "ignore errors" function? I paid for this, I want it to work or I want a refund! Been a few months since I contacted the developer and I've gotten no response.
Open web, phonegap or android project take me to the purchase page even after buying instead of loading the right aide app. Would give 5stars otherwise
This is a critical error that's been around for a while. While unfixed this entire app is useless.
How to upgrade to latest version of Cordova. Google play says current version is not safe. I have sent an e-mail to fourapp also, but not have received any reply yet. If this problem get sorted out. I will change my rating.
Ever since I upgraded my mobile to Android 10. The app seems to keep crashing and although I never used it all that much, I would've found it easier to do app development using it than a PC. Strangely enough though it seems to work great on my android tablet which using Android 8.1. I don't know what the issue is for Android 10, but this maybe something you guys need to look into.
