I can't describe how frustrating it is to attempt to this this app. The amount of time wasted trying to book flights and/or seats is stupid. Do better, because with what flights cost you'd think the app would actually function. Trips don't show up...all you get is a trip will be avaliable shortly. Try and select seats and no conformation button. I might as well switch to west jet at this point and save myself the headache and time.
The App rarely works without issue. When I recently booked a flight on Aeroplan points, the app said the booking "could not be processed at that time" or some similar message, I pressed the book icon again, same result, after the spinning arrow did about 5 mins of spinning. It turns out it booked BOTH itineraries. Now the onus is on ME to try and get the points back.
Like many people have already mentioned, the "Sign in" feature is completely unresponsive. Please fix it so we can use the app. Update: So I discovered that if you have Brave or DuckDuckGo as your default browser, you can't sign into the app. But if you change your default browser to Chrome, then sign into the app, and then change your default browser back, everything seems to work.
Lots of bugs. Upcoming flights not always shown in trips, I have 5 upcoming trips the information for only one shows up. Keep getting notifications for flights i am not booked on. In practicular it is the next day flight at the same time as the one just completed. Difficulty to change flights. App times out but so the the web page. I fly weekly these are my issues.
App no longer functions properly. Trips do not load nor can I load boarding passes manually. Cannot search flights either. Error message says "An error occurred that we didn't expect. We have automatically been notified and hope to address this issue shortly". I fly frequently - app stopped working 6 weeks ago. Uninstalling app and downloading again doesn't fix application issues.
This is the worst app I have ever encountered. It's slow or totally unresponsive. You sign in, you enter accounts to link to your card and proceed to submit and are either told to sign in again and loose all the data you entered or be told that the site cannot be accessed at that time and to try again later. Who has time for this. This site is in need of a total overhaul.
I'm using a Huawei P20, EML-L09. The Air Canada app does not work on my phone. The flight status functionality does not work, but works on other phones I've tested. Also I am never able to check in with the app. I've only had this problem with the app since using this new phone. I am a flight attendant and use this app every single day so it's become very frustrating not to be able to use its functions. Please advise! Thank you so much.
Clunky, not very responsive and after 90 minutes of trying to get the app to install , the app still has trouble connecting to Air Canada's servers. If connecting during regular business hours is a challenge maybe a banner ad suggesting a better time frame could play instead of the airplane buffering icon. It is so disappointing to have so much difficulty on the Android platform while the iOS platform seems to have less hiccups.
App hasn't worked for almost a year. Everytime I try to add a trip it says there's an error and they've been contacted. Been trying since last year this time to add various trips and still not fixed. App is useless.
This app has been a utter failure since closing the Aeroplan app. Haven't been able to log in since 2021. Wasted hours on the phone with zero response. Sent emails with no response. No one cares that your points are held hostage for months on end due to the fact you cannot login in. Just a spinning wheel on every browser or device app.
Who releases an app, then requires users to go to external website to sign in? Using secure apps prevent successfull app sign in. So that means AC/Aeroplan app is using alot of trackers and cookies!!! I guess its time to uninstall and just use desktop online as required. Can't leave zero stars.
Giving one star because zero is not an option. Automated customer support continuously redirects away from the issues. I just want to input my missing flights but the bug has been there for weeks. Wouldn't have bothered to make this rating but the app kept requesting 5 stars
I never received my Aeroplan reward. Aeroplan denied to resolve the issue with Canada Post after I tried to submit a lost package order inquiry. Points are useless if you don't give me anything for it. Used to like Air Canada and Aeroplan but seems they don't care anymore. I don't know what else to say about it.
Recently it became impossible to sign into the app. It presents the ability to open a browser to sign in, from within the app, but nothing happens when you tap the link. It doesn't open a browser, thus you cannot sign in. Tried removing app, no change.
Wow. This app used to be really bad. But it is now the BEST airline app and is far better than all the us airlines. It just works, and it works fast. The only improvement I would ask for is a better selection of airport maps but that doesn't really matter. What's important is it checks you in fast and it remembers your information and eliminates repeated entry. Bravo AC.
This app is so dumb! I try to sign and it asks for a verification code sent via email. Okay, no problem. But when I try to go to my email on my phone, the app resets and I need to enter my email and password again. In other words: I HAVE NO WAY TO ACCESS MY ACCOUNT
Useless. Using the same booking reference I used to check in on my laptop and the app keeps giving errors when I use it for the add boarding passes option on the app. Keeps saying reference not foud and if i try again gives another meaningless error. Tried to sign in to my Aeroplan account from the app and that also gave an error.
Even AC staff reps suggest to not use the app. Too buggy... shows, for example, that I have upgrade credits and turns out I don't. Difficult to change profile stuff - works best through the site on a browser, and on a desktop.
I never had a problem with this app until a month ago. Now everytime I go to look at my flights a different one is missing and just says "upcoming trip". It is infuriating.
My itinerary on App is wrong. Does not tally that I have in my email address which is correct. Air Canada changed the flight via email. The same change is NOT showing in the mobile application. The Application seems to be having buggs.
Will not allow you to create an account. You fill all the details in and press create account and a pop up message just states something has gone wrong try again. No matter how may times you try the same happens.
Horrible. The app was at one time working but then would not update. I uninstalled and have now reinstalled numerous times and now I cannot get any of trips loaded as it comes up with an error.
Original review: Cannot sign in to Aeroplan. Links to a browser do not open and there is no other method to sign in. 0/5 Update: Above problem fixed by setting Chrome as default browser temporarily. Links still didn't open to other browsers but setting Chrome default auto opened on sign in
You can't even find no vacation on this app, the only thing it allows you to do is book just flights and get online boarding passes. Plus this app is not user friendly!
Convenient but faulty. The Check In and Boarding Pass options are very handy. But I've encountered some problems that their team should fix -if the flight gets rescheduled, the option to check in pops up again unnecessarily -i didnt get boarding notices via the app notifications for my 3 connected flights as they happened (though requested text messages did come through). But a full day after my flights they started popping up at 630pm with clearly the wrong date in the notification
My government support funds (taxes) are obviously not going to app development. Still continuous errors when booking flights. I received an error while finalizing a flight and to try again, was brought back to the booking link, which I did, then the same error again, repeat. End result: 3 exact same flights booked and 3 charges on my Amex. To top it off, the cancellation process for an error, not of my doing, was ridiculous... 3 hour wait time. Ugh...
Can't log in. It only lets you log in through chrome or my Samsung web browser. Neither link works. I downloaded the app to use the e-card wallet function to collect points and for my flights. I literally can't use the app.
For about the last 4 weeks, this app has become useless. The information for current trips only updates about once every 5 times you open the app. The boarding passes only show original information, and do not reflect seat changes or flight changes. It's impossible to do the most basic things. This app used to be great! Now it's being uninstalled.
