Not actually airdrop. Just uses the same name. What it does do is creates a web server that other devices can browse to using a browser and then download things. When they connect they have to have a pin that is time-limited and appears on your device. So yes an iPhone can connect to the web server but it isn't airdrop.
Please correct me if I'm wrong. I downloaded this to allow my friends iPhone to send pics easily to my android Samsung note 8. The app appears to be useless and only tells me to go online on another device. When I did that I see my files downloaded on the web to share from there but I see nowhere to receive anything and my Friend could never connect our phones anyway. Also, why would I want this app if I have to use an external device? I'll Change this rating if you can solve this. if I don't hear back soon I will leave the 1 star and just uninstall. Thx.
I gave 4 stars 🌟 and and not 5 stars 🌟 because sometimes the app crashes itself but sometimes It's not and I really appreciate your application because If you have this app you can share yours and his/her files even if he/she doesn't have this app in his/her phone/laptop/anything else .. all you need to do is to teach him/her what to do like connecting to your hotspot and going to the ip address of your hotspot then give the code that shows in your phone.. but some sharing apps need to be installed to who you are going to share of your files or from who you are going to receive a files before you can share those files... So that I really liked it ... 👍👍👍
This is like the worst app for sharing files ever, so hard to do anything on it. It asks you to connect while you are connected, you cannot open URL it asks you to open, like I am going to remember the URL. Don't waste your memory space. It is so not worth it.
The permissions for this app are very intrusive and unnecessary. Why would this app need permission to make and receive my phone calls, messages and read/write anything in my storage without my knowledge? Goodgle needs to review this and publish the results before I would consider downloading or using this app again. Can anyone involved in creating this app justify the permissions and reasons for them to me please?
A joke. Crashes frequently. When it runs, it doesn't provide any way to send specific files. As another reviewer wrote, it seems to turn your phone into a file server giving access to all files on your phone. Not useful to me or, I imagine, anyone else since Android offers this functionality natively. Uninstalling and moving on to something with a better name - I just want to "beam" a few files to someone's iPhone.
The sender should be set permission to user to access the file or directory. But on this app's setting no option to do so.
Advertised that Android to iphone sharing capable. No evidence that that's true. Asking for authorization code but never gave me one. Help button opens a slow moving, unhelpful video.
This is the first time i have ever reviewed an app which is an indication of how bad this app really is. Not very user friendly and now it crashes every time i open the app.
So I read a lot of the reviews after downloading, and they're not true. 1) Yes, you have to access a site on another device in order for it to work. 2) Yes, you'll need at least wifi for it, I'm sure. Or data, if you have it. It doesn't take much, to be honest. 3) There is a little plane icon in the bottom right corner. Tap or click that on the external device to upload to the app. 4) The authentication code pops onto your app screen, and I'm pretty sure you're timed to put it in. For security reasons, of course. 5) Honestly, I bet most people who tried to get this app didn't pay attention at all, and just trashed the app from the start. 6) It's meant for android. So either you're dumb, or.. You're dumb, there's no other explanation.
Keeps trying to turn phone into hotshot. No other connection options. No help.
Agree with the previous reviews. Doesn't work from iphone or mac to android. Plus app crashes every 2 seconds.
Would not access any files to share, deleted almost immediately. No user support or how to guide.
It didn't work. I couldn't send anything to iOS devices and iOS devices couldn't send anything to me so it's pretty much useless.
Downloaded pictures which took up space on mac but files could not be seen or accessed. Made this useless.
Tried many times - app just shuts down , dont waste your time
I'm not usually a negative critic but, I just can't recommend this. Difficult to navigate (not particularly user friendly) and the claims it advertises are misleading.
Unable to use for anything, person sitting next to me has the app on an iPhone and we can't share
Download some images from my phone, but halfway through the downloads became empty zip files. No way to filter files by date to get the rest.
This airdrop really works on MacBook pro 2017; but I did not see how to share from external sdcard on my phone to MacBook pro, I just see on my mac all files from the internal phone and very easy to copy them to my mac.
I downloaded this app in spite of all the negative reviews. I must say this app definitely a disappointment and was a waste of space
The app gets stuck when I want to exit and I haven't managed to share data with other devices! Don't know why it can't detect my other divices!
The app worked with ipad and iphone and win 10 pc. Would be better if it allowed permanent authorization for trusted devices.
This is not the Apple app. It does not work the same, and I could not get the thing to work properly either. Will be uninstalling as soon as I have finished this review as it is a waste of screen space and storage space.
This is the worst share app I have ever tried!! Not only is this hard to use, this reconfigured my mobile settings without even asking permission!!
Bogus 3 seconds timeout on authentication code could not get it in time, dumping the app
It says you can have airdrop features with iphones. In reality i does nothing close to that. Basically useless
Tried using Xiaomi Mi Max v1 with Macbook Air 13" 2017 and it was an absolute waste of time. App and Macbook unable to link with the app crashing everytime it tried. The app has remained v1.0 since 2016 which tells you a lot about the lack of debugging support. It even uses Apple's feature name, Airdrop. It should be removed from Playstore. Watching paint peel is better than a second spent on this app.
