NOTE: If you install it on Android 3.1 or greater, please do run this app at least once after installation or update, then the AirPin auto boot service can be registered to the Android system.
Forget AppleTV. Use your Android device or phone (Android TV/Set-Top Box/Mini PC are preferred) to receive videos, pictures, and music wirelessly from multiple devices.
Once the app is installed (and you've run it after installation) it runs in the background waiting to receive the media you send to it from another device. Just like you would for a DLNA/UPnP enabled TV or AppleTV.
Send music, videos, or pictures from your iPhone/iPad/Mac(iOS8 or lower) via Apple's AirPlay(Screen Mirroring is not supported, iOS9/10 use screen mirroring fpr photo streaming).Or use your Android Phone/Tablet/PC with a compatible DLNA/UPnP app/program to send media directly to or stream from a home media server to "AirPlay/DLNA Receiver" installed on your Android device or phone.Your "AirPlay/DLNA Receiver" device will show up in your other devices app/program as "ATV@" followed by a number. This is the identifier you will send your media to using your other devices. Follow your third party app/program instructions on how to send media from them.
"AirPlay/DLNA Receiver" is not a media server. It is a DMR (Digital Media Renderer/Receiver) only. It requires the use of other apps/programs to send media to it via AirPlay/DLNA/UPnP to play. Airpin logo covers half the screen making it impractical to view pics. I am about to uninstall it as a result.
Does exactly what it says an provides a wealth of information on how to learn to use a very complicated technology with this app.

I honestly don't know why it as so many bad reviews. I have this installed on multiple devices and it works just fine. Learn how to use it before bad mouthing it people. Nothing wrong with this app. Just one minor niggle needs more support for other video formats rather than just MP4 and MKV
Only works for youtube. Anything that comes from an app, like starz or amazon etc. gives you a useless error. I can watch youtube directly on my android tv, i don't need this app to do it from my iPad. Only reason I didn't give it one star, is it does work for in-browser streaming of very very very very very basic and simple things that you can probably do straight on your android device or Tv anyway. There's no way I would spend $$ on the pro version though if the free version can't even airplay from an app.
It was working fine until it updated and stop working in which gives me an error. I cannot play and watch videos anymore. The error that it's giving me says: "Built-in firmware player in your device does not support this format, Error code: 1-00000002". I don't know what that is. Please fix this. Thanks.
this app is great dlna receiver, works grear for video streams, for audio streams needs impovements, doesnt work with shoutcast , also need music art while music is played
Disappointed. The reason I got this was so that I could hook up my macbook pro to an android projector. I had to pay for the version that would even let me hook up to my mac. After it was working, when I tried to play a movie from iTunes it told me that because of drg I couldn't play the itunes movie on the device.
This looks great and is simple enough. But if you ever update this, could you please add decoding of unsupported codecs? Flac and the such. Hopefully it shouldn't be too hard cuz flac's free. Thanks.

I only want to cast photos and videos from iphone to my android tv box. but you can not because the app says that only the pro version supports screen casting from apple devises. very confusing.
