Aladdin Connect

It works great and and has some details and logs of actions it takes. It does get frustrating at times when it loses "service". I don't know how that happens but when it does, it says the garage door is open and close randomly. It isn't internet connection as I have no issues during that time, but it can also be happen during then and during power outages. Also, one time we lost power and the garage opened itself up when we got power back automatically. Not sure if it's the app or the hardware.

It's absolute garbage. Lags all the time, often the services unavailable for no reason. Very inconvenient. I've learned to open my phone and start the app six to eight blocks away from home. Sometimes that is not enough time for the app to get up and running and me to open the door before I get to my house. Much easier to use the keypad remote. A completely useless feature. Sad as it was one of the features that led me to buy this product. Hopefully an update can fix this

PLEASE FIX THE SERVER - This is a great app, when it is working. It works great with my Google Home. However, the Aladdin server seems to go down approx every 1.5 weeks, rendering the app and its connectivity to Google Home ineffective. It is impossible to remotely determine if the door is open. In one instance, just before the server went down, the app sent me a notice that my Garage Door was open. I was on vacation. As you can imagine, it was distressing. I am now exploring alternatives.

The app rarely opens. Get notifications that garage opens or closes but app just stays on logo. Doesnt actually open most of the time. Alexa controls about 75% of the time but the 25% of the time is when i actually need the wifi control which makes this even more frustrating to spend extra for a feature that doesnt work. If you are looking for occasional wifi usage then not a bad choice. It is quiet.

05-13-22 App showing service unavailable. Lately has been giving the notifications very late. Sometimes my car rear view mirror programmer doesn't want to connect to the garage door motor and I can't open the garage. 10-20-2020 Lately the app doesn't communicate with the motor. I keep getting connection errors. Getting off line. Sometimes I have to close app and restart it. Its not reliable. I just installed the app in two phones. So far is working fine.

For last month or two, randomly logs out. Keeps giving errors for hours. There is one job it has to do... Keep the service up and running and let open and close the door. If that is not working, doesn't matter what other updates or features you put. Get the basics right and working. It was working fine for months until recently something (i am guessing some update) broke it.

We bought this and started using the app back in February and it worked flawlessly until last week. The green light keeps flashing on the unit...(our internet is not the problem)...the app has error messages and I keep getting random false notifications about my garge door being opened and closed. By the looks of all of the recent reviews, there are a lot of people having the same issues.

All 3 garage doors are blinking green and the app is not responding at all. Then says some error , max load cluster and I can't access anything. So it's been about 1.5 months since connecting the wifi and they ran perfect aside from 1 door losing wifi connection 1 day. Not sure why since the other 2 did not lose connection. I like being able to control the doors from anywhere and be notified when they are opened and closed. Quite a nice function, when it works. This should be a 1 time thing.

The app used to work fine, but now, despite showing the garage door opener is online and connected via wifi, the app no longer works when I ask it to open or close the garage door. I see many others have run into this issue, and yet no fix. What's going on, Genie!? Update on 4/2/22 - The app is now working seemlessly, and perfectly well. I think the latest update fixed the issues I was having because nothing else worked.

I have the app hooked up to 3 different doors, straight to 2 openers and 1 retrofit unit. The retrofit unit lately has been having issues about saying that it's offline in the app even though it still has a green light on the unit itself that means it is connected. Frustrating!! I've called in and had to unplug everything and delete the door then add it back to get it to work again. That lasted about a week and here we are again. Please fix.

Overall the app has been okay. There is no geofencing and you have zero smart home functions if their cloud servers go down. The most frustrating part of that is; the lack of communication from the company. I troubleshooted my system for 2 hours. Could of been avoid if the company made it known to consumers that there is an on going issue.

The app WAS working just fine for about 9 months...however today and last month, terrible. I would give this app 5 stars, but in truth I can't because of recent service disconnects, and errors showing the garage open when the door is actually closed. Aladdin's IT dept needs to step up it's game...seriously. If this keeps happening, I plan to disconnect the service and go back to the entry pad. Right now this is extremely frustrating, so today, I am giving a rating of 2.

Garage door mysteriously opened minutes after we left for a long trip. Security cameras recorded both instances. After attempts to close it, it shows "Disabled - Operate Manually" So how is that when no one is there to operate it manually? We plugged it to a smart outlet so we can reboot it if something like a network failure occurs . Instead of being able to override issues that can be solved by a reboot, Alladin disables it until we return to an empty house - so we can manually operate it.

This app is always having connectivity issues. I find myself Uninstalling and re-installing weekly because it has problems finding my garage door even though I have full wifi connection. Lately the error is "too many requests" even if ive uninstalled and reinstalled the app to try and "fix" the issue and it is down for server maintenance daily. I would suggest finding a different company to use for a wireless opener.

This app is very buggy, it does not update the status, but updates the status incorrectly at random times, even in the middle of night several hours after garage door is closed. It also seems to lose connection to one of the sensors which disables the garage door completely. Needs major update on both harware and software.

Not working anymore at all. It was fine for four months. Now it is completely useless. No access whatsoever from my phone... "Too many requests" or "cannot connect, contact customer service". Then on my wife's phone it's nothing but notifications every minute telling her the doors are opening and closing. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, and cleared data. I can't even access my account from the app and you would think something like that would at least be server side. Not very satisfied

Hot garbage. Just by design, the app has a crucial flaw: you have to long-press on the icon to open the door, but the app registers your press as a swipe and keeps trying to refresh your door list. Frequent crashes and connection failures plague the app itself, while Genie's Aladdin network is constantly down. I bought this specific opener not only for mobile access, but also Alexa integration and name recognition. None of that works. I 100% regret it.

This app is GARBAGE! Who ever developed it should be ashamed of themselves. Read the reviews! Mostly 1 start! Does that tell you anything!?! They don't care about the customer or their product. I had it installed for a few months now. Never worked correctly. Issues connecting. Once it connects it fails after 1st attempt to use it and disables controls through the app. It's going back to the store and will be looking for a different brand.

In general this works very well for my family. Helps eliminate house keys for all the kids and it's nice that we know when it's opened and closed. We work out of our garage and are able to give the app info to friends and family that are regularly in and out our garage. We have had a few bugs. We get notifications sometimes that the door is closed when it wasn't opened at all. Also would be nice and very convenient if, in the future, there was a smart watch compatible app!!

Unavailable, not working. Login doesn't go through. Been only 2 or 3 days now with zero chance of working but so intermittent I don't like it. Not reliable enough. I've had it for no less than 4 years now and it's too much of a pain. Get a different smart Garage opener.

Great, then complete junk!!!!!! Worked for a few months and then it will not connect to WiFi, control won't broadcast network to reconnect, reinstalling is pointless and tech support knows about as much as I do, they did nothing more than I already did multiple times.

What Happened? The app worked seamlessly at the start. I could check my elderly mother's garage status and close it when she forgot. Now the app won't even open. Just the cover screen and nothing after that. Installed the app update too. Uh, what happened? UPDATE 12/8/2021 Thanks for the update on the server issue. UPDATE 3/7/2022 App stopped working again. Exact same issue after app update installed.

There we no power outages!! OK guys my app keeps randomly telling me the door is open then closes. If I open app it crashes and tells me to contact customer service. Not good when almost asleep and it's telling you door open!!!

Worst app ever! Constantly reads "Service unavailable. Try again later". This is not acceptable especially for the service it proves. You are just out of luck getting into your home via the garage on a regular basis. Always unavailble and non-responsive at the most inconenient times. App providesno ETA or contact info to repair issue. Just "try again later". Terrible.

Wall mount door opener is fantastic. Built in Aladdin Connect needs some work. As others have said, goes offline frequently, then comes back online. No reason why. Not my network. Editing my original 1 star to 4 stars. Developers updated / fixed all the disconnect issues I was having and app works great now. Thank you!

App has major issues. Cache must constantly be cleared or it stops working. Once cleared you are logged out. Once logged out no going back in until you change password. As of right now, I'm locked out of account. Customer service is impossible to get a hold of. As soon as possible I will be replacing this troubled product.

What else can I rate an app that doesn't work 30-50% of the time? It says the service is unavailable and never loads anything. Even when it's working, I've never gotten the scheduling to work. It's supposed to notify me when the door has been open for more than an hour, and it never does. It's also supposed to close the door at midnight if it's been left open, and it doesn't. Some cool ideas/features, but that doesn't matter if the nothing actually works.

Keeps shutting down and telling me service not available. Uninstaller and re-installed. Won't let me log back in to MY ACCOUNT!!. I need to get in MY GARAGE. I got rid of my wall remote. Dumbest thing I've done I think. This is the 2nd time I've had to reinstall app. What is going on?

App suddenly showed "door open" almost 2 hrs after closing it. I opened the app and it wouldn't let me log in via biometrics so used my password - wouldn't accept it, so attempted a password refresh - tried every address I have and it can't find my email, then it did but errored out when I tried changing it. The app/feature is now useless to me. I took away a star because the app still doesn't work. It says my door has been open for two days now. I'm looking right at it, it's closed.

Connecting the garage door to my wifi was easy. But the interface was a little convoluted. Once I connected it to the wifi, I had to uninstall and reinstall the app. After I did that, it worked like a charm.
