Alamo Drafthouse Ticketing App

This app has a non refundable convenience fee for ticket purchases which I did not have a problem with, until I became a Season Pass member. I pay $21.64 for a monthly membership, you'd think that they either waive or offer a way to avoid paying an additional almost $2.00 in fees PER ticket purchase. That fee adds up in a month's time if you intend on using the Pass to it's fullest extent of privileges.

Their site says you can only refund tickets in person or via their app, which is a BS reason to drive down refund rate and increase app installs. But even then, you can't do a partial refund when some of your group has to cancel - you have to refund the whole purchase and risk losing the remaining seats you wanted to keep. So that necessitates a full separate trip out to the theater to do a partial refund, wasting a ton of time! DO BETTER, ALAMO! 🖕

Issues with the app and season pass: 1) If I want to see a movie by myself, I have to sit next to already purchased seats. I can not skip a seat even though it's in pairs. 2) The seats are not labeled, so I have to take screenshots and send it to my significant other. 3) Convince fee?!?! Really? It's 2022, save your paper and the world... 4) Why do I have to put my card on the season pass and the app? If AMC, can do a pass without being annoying and uptight, you should rethink your pass...

I don't really see a point in using this app. Sure you can buy movie tickets through it and use it to show your ticket at the theater but past that It doesn't offer any useful function that can't be done elsewhere Movies seem to get added randomly and there's no way to alert the user when tickets go on sale. This is a major complaint I have with this movie theater chain. This seems like the perfect function for an app but they don't do it. The app also doesn't even show when a movie is sold out.

Total disconnect between app and local store. App has "Rewards"/discounts available for my account, but local staff says they decided not to use them. If they have the technology to add a rewards ticket into the account, then they should have the technology to add a "these rewards are useless so don't come in expecting to use them" ticket too. Additionally, it would be nice to see, or identify, which side of the theater has the entrance when choosing seats.

Will not accept my debit card. Tried it five times and always unsuccessfully. I went through Fandango and my debit card went through each time. Always go to Drafthouse so was looking forward to joining their specific program since I'm there 4-5 times a month. Disappointed. Going back to Fandango and maybe another theater since no one was able to help fix my problem.

EDIT: looks like the bug is fixed! The lastest update seems to have a bug that makes today's date unavailable. It lists tomorrow's date twice, and then "tomorrow" in the list of selectable dates at the top. This of course makes it impossible to purchase a ticket for later today.

Meh....The basic functionality works. I can purchase a ticket within seconds. But beyond that, not much to it. Use to be able to preorder meals with the ticket purchase, but for some reason this went away. Shame because it was so convenient. Guess it was confusing the heck out of the staff haha!

Best and easiest way to go to the show! However, it is not as feature rich as it could be, at least not yet. I am a patient man, but i would really love it if they would let me do a partial refund if a friend can't go, and giving me the ability to reschedule or edit for a little while after I place an order would be so helpful.

Been using this app since it came out, and it's been great, and keeps getting better! Does exactly what you would hope. So easy to browse show times, buy tickets and merchandise quickly, and use to show my ticket so no need to print out or wait in a line.

Pretty good app, but the embedded video trailer playback doesn't work very well. (Clicking on page text pauses the video for some reason, and there's no way to Cast the video to another device)

Convenience fee is a scam you have to pay this plus additional tax on season pass tickets and you can only use the pass with the app. Even better if you have to return Season Pass tickets it doesnt refund the convenience fee. Better off grabbing tickets online.

Wouldn't let me check out when I had opening night tickets for Star Wars in my cart. Spent 2 hours refreshing while I tried to get the problem fixed. Then I screwed up adding more time and lost the tickets. Customer Service was no help at all. I'm annoyed and disappointed.

The application itself works right, but if you buy tickets thought it, it charges you an additional fee for what's essentially the cost of doing business and shouldn't be charged to customers, and I'm not sure how such fee is calculated since if you're paying $22 dollars for two tickets it charges you $3.00 on top but if you're paying $14 for two tickets, it charges you $3.12 so it's not a percentage

The app hangs when I apply my season pass and click the next button. This has been happening consistently since the last update. I'd love to be able to go to the movies at some point. 😠

Would be REALLY helpful if the "pay now" button actually worked. You get all the headache of trying to find showtimes and seats but without the hassle of being able to actually BUY TICKETS AND SEE THE FREAKING MOVIE.

App works fine but if you try to buy a movie with 2 minutes left it won't let you and says it's passed the time. This happened to me twice and the second time I had to pay for my ticket instead of use the movie pass.

There are a few things missing. I feel that I should be able to load in my gift cards like a CC and save the information. Also save any passes other items. There is more that could be done to improve this app, this is a somewhat simple one.

Doesn't work, can't login, getting this error: "unable to authenticate email. No matching loyalty user or bad password." I reset my password and can login on the web fine, but app remains useless.

Fairly easy to find movies and book tickets. It would be nice to be able to modify or add credit cards in the app or on your website rather than having to wait to purchase tickets to add a new credit card.

they add a "convenience fee" to every transaction that is not refundable. so is it convenient for you to save money by not hiring a cashier and charge me an extra 10%? complete BS, im so glad they also advertise for some donation so they can wave their social virtue flag as well. what happened to providing a good product and not wasting my time?

I downloaded the update, switched my Alamo pass from my old phone to new phone, and now I cannot check out at all. Every time I get the error message "something went wrong, retry". I contacted support, help!

Useful app. Needs to have a full month calendar view. I don't like having to click on every single day individually to see what's playing.

The house rules in the app won't load. It says "try again". And the website isn't recognizing my season pass.

Very simple to use. The digital ticketing works better than any other movie theater app I've used. Also able to pre-order food and drinks!
