Similar to others here - this was my go-to alarm app for years. Paid for pro to show support but apparently this app no longer receives updates. When I switched to a phone that allowed Android 12, the app no longer pops up on screen, requiring me to unlock the phone and find the app to interact with the alarm. More than once, despite enabling all override permissions (Do Not Disturb, Force Sleep) features for the alarm, it's failed to go off.
Same as other reviews. With newer phones, the app won't unlock phone or open, so you have to fumble around. That was bad enough. Now... it auto snoozes itself. Thought I was losing my mind when I woke up late for work and saw "snoozed 7 times". Finally sat and watched what was happening. That is/was the last straw to making it totally unusable as an alarm.
Have used this for years and paid for pro version. Reloaded for each phone upgrade. But on this new Note 21ultra I can't figure out how to get it to open the app when the alarm rings. I have to open the display and unlock the the phone then I open the app. It used to automatically open the alarm screen when it went off. It's a pain having to go through all that when you are half asleep and fumbling fingers. Very irritating
I've been using this alarm for years! My favorite feature is that I can set it to solve a math problem to dismiss it. This stops me from accidentally dismissing when I mean to snooze so I'm not late for work! I would prefer for next update the alarm pops up over everything else like it used to.
This has been my go to alarm for years. With the latest version that I have on my phone, the alarm does not pop up over top of what I'm doing. It used to. Now I have to go hunt for the icon to open it and then turn the alarm off. In addition, when I dismissal an alarm the app goes away. Normally it would stay on top but it just disappears.
Same bad experience with an Android 12 device (Galaxy Z Fold 3). No matter if the app is added to apps allowed to not sleep, if I disable all optimization and do not disturb the app still won't fire off alarms after the screen goes off overnight. I wake up to the "Alarm did not go off because the app was force closed...". This never happened in all the years I used it, even on my last phone, a Pixel 3XL which was on Android 12.... I think the app just won't work with Samsung or the Fold phones.
I've had it for many years, but after some update it stopped popping up on my screen when an alarm goes off. I usually get in there to snooze the alarm through the notifications. Today it wouldn't open at all from the notifications, it woke up everyone I have had to switch off the phone. Im uninstalling I've had enough.
Hasn't been updated for three years. Will not wake lock screen on Android 11 to show dismiss and snooze buttons. You have to pick up your phone and unlock it first. I'm referring to the premium or "paid" version. AVG Labs is notorious for not keeping their apps up to date and they continue to do what they do best, Shaft Their Customers!
Improved apparently means more cumbersome and less features. Instead of individual tabs at the top for each tool, now you have to open a menu to access them. Advanced alarm options (fade-in time, max alarm volume, etc) have been completely removed. It used to be a really nice app. Now, not so much...time to start looking for a replacement I suppose. UPDATE: Increased score to a 3. Found the fade and max volume, where you choose the sounds for the alarms. It makes sense, but moving features that have been in the same place for a very long time just causes confusion and frustration.
This latest update is terrible! I have been using the paid version of this app for years and have never had a problem and always loved it. I don't care that the layout has changed because I only use the basic alarm. I had already added it to my allowed app list for battery usage and it is still not working properly. The alarm doesn't always go off when it should and I have been late to school and work because of it. It will randomly dismiss my alarms when I haven't pressed dismiss. When I hit snooze, the screen won't go away by hitting the back button. And the screen goes dark before I can snooze it, usually about 2 seconds after the app alarm starts going off, which is long before my screen timeout is set to go dark. Very disappointed.
I've used a lot of alarm apps over the years, and this is my favorite. Others overwhelm you with ads on the free version, or make it so you can't silence an alarm or change settings without the screen frozen with an ad. This app doesn't do that. The free version has been wonderful and does what I need, but I like to support really good apps when I find them! Thanks for this, guys! Really good interface, reliable, and easy to use.
This is the first item I ever reviewed, and changing my review from 5 stars to one breaks my heart. I have loved this app for years, but recent changes have made it terribly buggy. "Skip Next" for skipping the next alarm never turns of, it just rolls over to the next day indefinitely. Timer no longer works in the background and has become basically useless. You have to unlock the phone to turn off alarms; it no longer works with the lock screen. And sometimes alarms just fail to go off at all.
I was using the paid version for years. With the latest version the alarms don't even go off. I see many other complain of the same problem with the latest version, so if you know about the problem don't wait and bring back the old version! The new UI is super confusing that I can't see a single advantage in it. I don't have any app optimizers to force close the app, and besides, nothing else changed on my phone except the update to this app! Please fix, or at least allow installation of the older version as a separate app.
Used to love the app. The alarm clock still works well. I love that I can do a math problem to make sure I don't inadvertently turn off my alarm. What isn't working anymore is the timer function. We use this when we drive for breaks. And with the lag 2 updates, it is very inconsistent. Resetting itself. Not going off when it is supposed to, etc.
This was a great app! Customisable, difficulty levels in the dismiss puzzles, so you don't just fall back asleep. But it suddenly stopped working. Maybe it is closing itself or android is closing it. I have looked extensively through phone and app settings menu and can't find an obvious solution. This has unfortunately made me late to work several times. Any help would be great!
Previous versions of this app were excellent. I have loved using this app for several years. However the most recent update is junk. The timers are unreliable. The the app is unstable. Less important but noticeable is that the graphics are worse than they previously were. I have no idea why this update was sent out. The previous version should be restored.
BUYER BEWARE!! I have used this app for years because I love setting my own music choices for alarms and the feature for forcing myself to have to complete a task to snooze or turn off the alarm literally wakes me up in the morning. Until this week. Suddenly, it's failed me twice in a row because the app isn't responding. If I'm late to work again I'm going to be out of a job doo sadly I've got to go to a different app.
This used to be my favorite alarm app for years! I loved using the math problems in the morning. I very much enjoyed being able to swipe between alarms and timers and the rotary numbers are way better than the keypad. There's other things like different backgrounds that are missed but not necessary. I just wish you left it as it was. This isn't even the app I paid for anymore. I might as well just use the system alarms and timers because your app is basically no different.
Loved this app for years. But the latest update has broken it. If an alarm goes off in the middle of doing something, hitting snooze would put you back to where you were Now the app blocks the screen and you either have to dismiss the alarm or switch apps. The new mountain interface is nice but should have been an option that could be chosen rather than the only choice. I use multiple alarms during the day and now the text is too small for me to read the alarm name. Also if one alarm goes off and you snooze it, then a second alarm goes off it just shows the first alarm which you have to dismiss so you can snooze the second alarm. This is a problem for me as I use the snooze as an hourly reminder. Having to dismiss the alarm breaks this paradigm.
I have used this alarm clock xtreme pro exclusively for the last 6-7 years or so and enjoyed the simple color theme and interface. I am just not crazy with this new color theme and interface (or whatever you call it) update a few weeks ago. AND, seriously I don't need news & articles in my alarm app. Thank god, I can disable it. For goodness sake, it's an alarm, thus, keep it simple.
I use the timer several times a day and for different numbers of minutes. Instead of the timer I'm using alarming, all the timers near it turn red and have to be reset. This is a waste of my time and very disruptive of the task I'm doing. Otherwise, the app works well. Update: The previous preblems have been fixed, and the app works great. KUDOS!!!
Loved it for years, until this new update. Much less user-friendly. The new 2x1 widget's alarm-time text is way too tiny; the old 2×1 widget was easily readable. And after update, you can't quickly switch in one click between alarm, stopwatch, and timer anymore. Plus, the update moved the alarm names to the right, where much of the text gets cut off. Also not a fan of the new, bright blue color scheme, but that's a small issue.
Every time this app updates, the Xtreme the app changes to the pro version and you lose all the features of the Xtreme version like themes, etc. What's worse is this is the second time they've done it to me. I have never seen such a lame update that reverts your paid version. They probably want to increase revenue and that no one will notice. I did and for the second time. While the app is ok, it's definitely NOT worth the hassle. I can't recommend this to anyone due to the uptating issue...
This was my goto app for years. It worked across multiple phones in the past. But last update changed something and it wouldn't work as it use to. The alarm would come on but not open on the screen so I would have to unlock the phone, find the app and open it to turn off the alarm. That's really bad when it's the morning alarm. So I uninstalled and tried again with the same results. Sorry but I had to find a different app.
I've paid for and been using this app for years. It worked just fine. But then I stupidly updated the app, and now it's broken. The first ring is fine. The snooze button turns on. I press snooze and it turns off and the screen goes off. But the next ring the screen stays blank. I must press the on button to turn it on. To compensate I now set it on auto snooze/dismiss. It's...okay, I guess. But knowing that it's broken and the developer can (and should) fix it is annoying as hell. Please fix it.
I have had this app for years, but the most recent updates have broken the app. Alarms don't seem to go off every time, and the timers are completely broken for me. They don't always count down; they just sit at whatever time you put, and then when you come back, nothing has changed. I tried installing the latest version, uninstalling and reinstalling the app, and clearing the cache, but the problems persist. Very disappointed and would NOT recommend at this time.
This new update is terrible and unexpected. when I hit snooze, it jumps to a screen that gives me a dismiss option and will not go away until I hit dismiss. What good is snooze if you are forced to dismiss? They also changed the way you set up the options, and I don't see the customization options for size of snooze button and other features that were perfect before. I tried many apps before I settled on this one years ago and now it is ruined so I have to start from scratch. I really wish developers would stop fixing things that aren't broken!
Love the app for the most part - alarm doesn't come up on screen anymore, only in notifications bar. I have gone through every setting on my phone and its just not an option. This is super annoying, and very frustrating. Other than that, I wish it would expand alarms to music on platforms like YouTube Permium, Spotify, Apple Music etc.
