AlarmDroid (alarm clock)

I've used this app for years, but I just don't get why the UI makes it so difficult to just create a countdown timer. I have countdown timers already made, so it was evidently easier in the past, but now I click on the +, then the burger menu to get a countdown, but there is still a regular alarm set as well. Very awkward.

I had used this app for years and it has had its moments when it's great and times when it's unreliable. On my Pixel 6 Pro it goes off reliably, but has issues with the lock screen. Sometimes it seems to get stuck and needs a fingerprint to dismiss. It's a shame it's not being consistently updated as I did used to like the way it worked.

It allows selecting a folder of mp3 and play them randomly. The problem is once tilt starts playing there is no skip button. Sometimes I want to hear something else. The playlist option wouldn't work saying not compatible with your version of Android. I have the latest. Please fix these two issues. Thanks

It used to be good but now there are a lot of bugs. When selecting/editing alarms, the app often doesn't respond and you have turn the alarm on before you can make any changes. Selecting a specific date for an alarm causes the app to glitch and you can't edit the title at all. I am letting this app go.

DO NOT USE THIS ALARM UNTIL THE CURRENT ISSUE IS FIXED. Like so many other recent reviews, I have used this app for years, paid for the ad free version, and loved it. However, I now have to find a new alarm app because this one is no longer working reliably. On several occasions, the alarm just doesn't ring. I've been late to work or nearly missed appointments because the alarm failed to go off. Everything is set correctly and once the time passes, it just resets as though it's rung and you've stopped it with no alert whatsoever. Contacted the developer with no response, not that I'm surprised by that based on all the other reviews saying the same. I'm disheartened and disappointed.

Buggy. Used to by a good app. Many years ago there was an app with the same name. It was flawless. But starting from one Android version it was not available any more. This app has the same name and similar design. But it is buggy. 1) For instance, after flipping there is a delay about 1 sec, then the sound continues, despite snooze time 5 min. 2) One more problem: The name of the selected own ring tone is not displayed, instead some number is displayed. A correct tone will be played, but you never know what ton you have selected.

I've been using this app as my alarm clock for many years and it's been pretty reliable overall. Occasionally I have to force stop it when it crashes streaming my radio, or it won't go off the next morning; but the features make it worth sticking with. I wish it had the option to start another app so I could have nature sounds for an alarm. Thanks for a great app!!!

same as others reported: worked great for years, but two instances where it didn't go off and was almost late for work. already made sure the lock screen option is selected, worked for two weeks, then stopped. it shows that the alarm has already rang and resets to the next day. cannot trust the app, and rely on this to wake up....no point keeping the app if i'm going to second guess it working.

It was great.... until it stopped working. my alarm has not gone off the past 3 days. been late everyday. I even set one for 315 when I have to pick up my daughter. of course I'm up and aware I have to do so but, so it was a perfect time to test the alarm. sure enough I watched it go from the top of the list as if it was next to ring and slide to bottom as it had rung already WITHOUT EVER GOING OFF!

I have used this alarm app for several years now. Has always worked great, minus a few bugs a time or two. But here lately the alarms have been going off later and later, or not at all. Set the alarm for 8:00pm and it goes off at 8:41pm, or 8:23pm, or maybe not at all. Each day is a new experience. I have also noticed that the developer has abandoned the app. Was last updated on Nov. 6th 2020. Very undependable now.

Not willing to give this a really negative review as it's been my go to alarm for years. However it seems like the combination of Samsung s9 (or note 8/9) and android pie has caused this app to become unreliable. Obviously there needs to be an update to address this issue. Mine's related to the flip and shake no longer working. **update. For those that are still having issues, go into settings->apps and clear the data and cache on the app under memory. Fixed my issue

I have been using this app since 2012, it's had its bugs over the years but overall has been pretty reliable till just recently. The last few months my alarms don't go off😵. I've messed with it, deleted and reinstalled on my samsung note 20 and can't get it to work reliably anymore. This has been a great app but not any more 😪 completely unreliable now. It may have been abandoned by the developers there hasn't been an update in over 2 years 🤔

Good, except that when phone rebooted, the alarms won't go off unless you open the app first, so that's easy forget. Also, if it had the feature to delete all unused alarms, like other alarm apps, I would give it one more star. Right now, we have to go one by one. Often ignores screen taps when editing alarms (at least on Samsung Note 9). I didn't even think responding to touch screen was an aspect that could be messed up, since no other app EVER has had this issue. Other than that, it's fine.

The reason I installed this app was to be able to select a playlist as an alarm. Unfortunately the app does not display any playlists when you try to choose that option. Fortunately you can select a music folder instead. Unfortunately AlarmDroid ignores your folder selection and just plays a general alarm tone that you didn't choose instead. Otherwise it looks like a sensible and flexible alarm app. Too bad it just doesn't do the one thing I wanted it for.

I've used since my first Android, a Samsung Galaxy S2. One of the big advantages over the stock apps has been the ability to save countdown alarms (I have a 30 minute and 15 minute saved for work breaks.) However, after moving to a OnePlus 9 Pro 56 and Android 11, performance is intermittent. After a while, alarms will refuse to sound with an "AlarmDroid: Cannot play back audio" error. So far, I've found no obvious permission issues. Rebooting, however, clears the problem and alarms sound normally for a few days. Reported issue to developer via email, as well as this review. (5* until now. 3* for now, since this is probably Google's fault...)

Edit: it has now been 2 weeks and the alarm has only gone off one day. I have had to completely rely on the factory alarm app to wake me up. I will be uninstalling this app. The app has generally been good, but 2 days in a row my alarm never went off, making me late for work. I can't have an alarm that is this unreliable. This isn't the first time this has happened. When I go into the app, it shows the alarm is set and shows the next alarm time as 23 hours away.

I used the app for years, but now most of the time when you open it, you just get (supposedly) a full size ad. It's just a white screen with the work "advertisment" on it which you can't leave. The app is basically useless now, or if I may say, adware. There also are banner ads on top of the full screen ad, surprisingly.

Great app but bit buggy. New update seems to made it worse. Everytime i try to change settings of an alarm such as change ringtone, it takes about 30 sec to a minute to finally open up with the options. i keep trying to push the options and nothing happening. Have galaxy note 9. This lag issue needs to be fixed. Other than that, still great alarm app

The alarm to wake me up for work this morning didn't go off. This issue has happened multiple times over the past few years, and across multiple phones from different manufacturers, although there's a lot of time in between instances of failure. But due to the unreliability of this app, after using it for nearly 10 years, I am forced to choose a different alarm app. Waking up on time is simply too important to tolerate even these infrequent failures.

I loved this app and have used it ever since I got my first smartphone. However, for the last month or so, it has been quite unreliable. Sometimes it goes off, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes the alarm only goes off when I open my phone and sometimes I can look at the time and see the next alarm was today 5 minutes ago and according to the app it should go off 5 minutes ago... Now I have to find a new app since I can no longer live with this unreliability

I LOVED this app as a heavy sleeper. The obstacles helped motivate me to actually wake up... Until the app stopped working. I tried to give it 2 weeks to work out bugs because I was determined bto use it again but out of the 28 alarms that should have gone off... Only 3 did. So sadly I will have to uninstall. Hopefully the problem gets fixed because it was a wonderful app. (Galaxy S7)

Another user putting in their shared experience: This app was absolutely fantastic, really great features with lots of customisation and great obstacles for someone like me who is a deep sleeper. Sadly, it has stopped functioning entirely in the last month and rendered completely useless. Do not download this app until the issue is fixed!!!

Like many others have said, the latest update has made this app completely useless. Several days in a row the alarm hasn't gone off. Tested it with the phone unlocked and looking at the app as it counted down and the alarm just didn't go off. Good thing my body knows when I need to wake up or I would have been late for work. Please fix this app. I've used it for many years and would be sad to have to uninstall.

I have to bang the screen numerous times just for the app to register I'm tapping it, then, once I finally make 1 single change, I have to force stop the app, and reopen it, before I can bang on it again in order to make a second change. This app surely isn't worth the time and frustration of attempting to use the dang thing.

I wish the three dots next to the alarms weren't so far right. I have a s22 ultra with a huge edge on the sides, and there is no touchscreen for the edge. I can barely press the three dots, need to be very exact. Apart from that, great app, been using it for years.

I have used this app for many years as it is the only one I found and liked that would play any music stream. However, since my new phone the alarm only plays the stream for 22 minutes and then stops. I've tried everything and nothing fixes it. Tried to email the developer and got no help.

Last night before going to bed, I opened up the app, made sure my alarm was set at the right time, made sure all volumes on my phone were at max, and closed the app. This morning, I woke on my own, realized my flight had already departed, and wondered why my app that had previously worked correctly had failed me. Opened up the app and my alarm started going off then. Unfortunately, for an alarm app, you only get one chance. I won't be able to trust this app anymore and will have to suggest you go with another.

i've used this app for years and it's always been reliable and easy to customize. in the past 6 months or so it has become increasingly unreliable. there have been multiple mornings where one of my alarms doesn't go off. if it doesn't do the one thing alarms are supposed to, then the other features don't matter.

I've used this app for years. In the last month or so and now all of this week, the alarm doesn't even go off. I've a back up battery alarm thank goodness or else I would have missed work everytime but it kind if defeats the purpose if wanting an alarm on the phone. I have had to move onto a better app that's reliable.
