App was great worked exactly as needed till just recently when it now forces you to leave a tip after you get money out without the ability to hit no. Especially when you pull money you automatically have to pay 6.99 for instant to bank . Or 3.99 or whatever for their debit card. Which it's going to albert with that fee so that is the tip. Now forcing you to tip you have to pay their minimum tip$3 more plus the 6.99 you're already paying. It's insulting and shady business forcing a new fee.
It's ok. Easy enough to sign up. Better than nothing but as some have stated...it will put money into savings randomly. I DID select monthly, yet it did it whenever it wanted. I finally turned it off. The first time I borrowed, I received $75. Now, it's $50, so it's a little confusing....considering my income did not change and I paid on time. I don't trust them enough to have my direct deposit set up through Albert. Nope.
It's a decent app and I like that I can borrow money when needed but they say the tip is optional but it's definitely not. Your options are choosing between different amounts for the tip. There is no way to take it off. Why do I need to tip $3 when I'm already paying a fee to borrow? Makes no sense. Other than that it's an alright app.
My experience with thia app was terrible. Processing is slow and the debit card would not link to the account even after the authorization deposit and withdrawl was completed. It is not very user friendly and seems to have a mind of its own. How to unsubscribe and remove linked accounts is almos impossible. I was never able to get the needed funds, but they were able to withdraw savings amounts from my account and held the funds for nearly 14 days. I would not recomend this if you're in a bind
The app was great when you could just use it for savings. Now they constantly push their debit card, and force you to use the genius. The app is also buggy. The card glitches in my screen, I can't get my investment preferences to changeand it'll just crash. I used to recommend this app, but no longer.
Terrible. I used an advanced and it charged my card back normally. But then it takes forever to process and when I tried to pay the remaining amount. The app crashes and send you back to the sign in screen. I tried to reach out the customer service but the number it gives you is no direct line to someone. Just a dial tree and the number it give you to text you get no response. App was fine for me until I realized you can't get help to save your life. Would not recommend.
This app is definitely taking your money, don't bother downloading it and download something more credible. I have had a transaction pending for withdrawal for several weeks and still nothing. The auto savings from the past several weeks are still pending but just took another $24 out of my bank account. When you ask for a new card it doesn't give you an option to put your apartment number and I tried texting "genius" and still haven't heard anything back. They're taking your money, stay away.
-10⭐!!!!!!!!!Just not worth the time and hassle! It's been months and still my local bank account won't link up! Says unable to update credentials but worked fine in the start! Sent my verification statements and a month later they asked again for them and haven't been able to link since and to no resolve after countless emails/texts! Everything they suggest hasn't/doesn't work and they still do nothing! No calls either! Just email and texts! Don't waste your time or money!!!
This bank is useless. I've had my paycheck (which is direct deposit) unable to deposit into this account twice now, with Albert unable to explain why. On top of that, there's no way to talk to customer support aside from texting, which can take hours. You pay a fee each month for "genius" support....yet when you actually need help with something, it takes ages and is usually pointless anyways. Lastly, god forbid you need to deposit a paper check. It takes ten days to clear. Closed my account.
I'm very pleased with the opportunity to be able to invest in stocks, separate income from bill payments and regular spending. The only thing I have a slight problem with is the instant advance. I meet all requirements & have utilized two instant advances but the app status states that I'm still not eligible due to the first five requirements. Albert automatically withdraw the funds as soon as they post so I've never had an issue with repayment. I could use extra funds now but don't have access.
First the UI is terrible it's a really hard to get into some functions of the app, any money you put into either account isn't available right away even though it's your money that you're supposed to be able to do with what you want and that isn't expressed until after the transaction happens, and the help center is just a bot with generic responses there isn't an actual person messaging you. Better to stick with your regular old Bank or any of the other apps like chime or Dave.
Would not reccommend. Had not used for a few years. Had 20 in savings from when using app. No longer had access to accou t linked to app so added current bank. App would not allow me to transfer money out of my Alberts "savings" but would allow me to transfer between Alberts "savings" accounts if creating a new rainy day account. Reached out to their genius support with no meaningful assistance. Reached out to have account deleted and was then charged for a subscription on my new card.
It worked great at first but it would not sync with my bank, so it kept saying I didn't have enough money to repay my advance. Eventually I had to just reconnect my account and then it FINALLY let me repay but now my account is suspended and when I contacted them for support, they basically say I'm out of luck and can't use it again for months. Definitely won't use it again if this is how it works.
I have never had login issues using this app. I find it highly suspicious that I log in just fine to retrieve a referral link, then the next day when I try to log in to get my referral reward all of a sudden it doesn't work. I have changed my password multiple times and still cannot log in.
Overall positive. The app occasionally screws up dates it reads from your bank but the level of communication from the reps within the app community has improved substantially. They do make every effort to fix systematic situations. The evolution of the app over time and new features are kind of neat helping understand your banking matters better. Be careful when tapping through that you don't unintentionally sign up for a feature you didn't want. Some move money. Take your time in this app.
Worst app I've ever installed. I only gave my bank account info to open an account and start savings. I never authorized transfers not a subscription. Albert now charges me 6 dollars a month and transfers money out of my account in whatever amount it wants. Cannot cancel, cannot get my money back.
Edit: After getting ahold of support they did refund me. The app itself is nice and easy to use and dispite the issue I had I will continue to use them. Original: Good luck getting ahold of someone when they charge your account for something you never signed up for.
Worst of all of these credit builder or/and advance apps, additionally the sign up process including the questions they ask (made me say what every bank transaction I had basically was) which they will say is to factor in how much we can help you but yeah, out of all these apps it was the biggest hassle. In fact I forgot about it, until I received a random text. And yeah they randomly take money out of your account which I thought I turned off and they charge the most of transfers.
I have been trying to get in touch with them for over a month is disconnected and they shut down my card and I haven't been able to use it but yet they continue to take money out of my bank account. Now they say that there's an optional but when you go to leave 0 because you can't afford to tip with the loan it forces you to leave at least $3 due at repayment. And they still have keep taking money out even when I don't have it in my account and causing me major overdraft fees
first and foremost I want to say that it is extremely user friendly. but first, my direct deposits took considerably longer like days longer. second, the whole genius thing where you got you own personalized person. that's a lie. I've tried texting back like the app tells me to do. I NEVER get a reply. lastly, my debit card, the one you have to use to go to atm or really anything, has been on the way for over a month. it's been arrived 2 separate times but I'm still without my card. I have more
The most you can get out of this application in the beginning is $10. Big whoop! What a waste of time. Then they didn't show me that there was two different accounts connected to me on the same account so maybe I could have gotten more. Who knows. Too late now. Have to repay the first one before getting another advance and that's 7 days away. Another waste of time!
Terrible app and if something goes wrong you are on your own. They text you but it will take hours at best and then no helpful information. Takes over 9 days for money transfer and never during EST business hours, always late by hours or days. Will not let you deposit checks unless you use them as direct deposit. Adds random %15 if paying or food or hotel though this is not stated clearly. Also delays and holds onto wire transfers. As soon as the transfers are complete I am closing this.
Great little banking app with tons of potential great customer service as well .I highly recommend this to anyone looking for q straightforward easy to use banking app. I love how easy the made it to play around with investing. Only thing that kept me from giving 5 starts is that I got my girlfriend to do referral rewards and never got mine.
Was double charged for a transaction. Sent them the receipt for the transaction and they didn't resolve the issue. The charges are still on the card and MY money is STILL just in limbo. Also my instant cash has been suspended because of a problem on THEIR end. I thought this would be my new bank. I don't recommend albert. Already contacted customer service twice and nothing has changed. EDIT TO RESPONSE: Albert:"BANKING" on you, clearly you are not a bank, as you cannot count.
Predatory UI design, very difficult to close your genius account, or even to figure out the options to do so, requires you to go through multiple steps in different areas. If you forget to do anything itll continue to charge you for the service.
SCAM!! I was very happy with them at first and they were very helpful and I did receive 2 advances that I paid back on time but after a while they stopped allowing me to get advances and stopped responding to my questions even though I paid for the membership fee so basically if you use them and do what your suppose to and pay the extra for the membership fee they punish you for it instead of appreciating your business and money which makes no sense to me and feels like a scam to me!
I set up my direct deposit a little over 2 months ago and the app still says I haven't. All my cash back options are locked pending direct deposit I've contacted support to no awnser it works as a banking app alright but the offers of cash back and the like seem not to work and can't get support for it that's why 2 stars if my problems are addressed will change my rating
I love my albert account just so easy to keep track of everything and I'm sure I haven't even began to get full use of the apps potential. Customer service helped my figure out albert instant cash advances, and I've never enjoyed a banking app as much as albert. There is $9 a month genius fee but I think it's worth it.
I now give one star because of a $2.50 ATM fee unless you pay for the upgrade. What a rip off. No more of my money will be going into this account. To many other alternatives that charge no fees to get your cash out all over the Play store to deal with paying ATM fees on this one.
I have been using this app for 3 years without an issue. Now they're putting roadblocks in so I can't transfer my money out, like saying they need to verify the bank account I've been using for deposits and transfers for three years(collectively, probably about $1000) - "for my protection" because the account may not belong to me, and they said they require that for all new accounts. Their customer service stopped replying when I pointed out its not new. Not worth it, & now they're lying. 🙃
