Album Art Grabber

It used to work well. Now it does a search, gets to 4 (out of a few hundred) and then goes "nah" and falls over. It's a shame, as there does not appear to be any other apps that updates album covers automatically, and it's a real pain going through hundreds of songs and manually updating the covers one by one and fighting apps every three or four, which is what you need to do in the nearest competitor.

From 5 star to no stars. The app had worked very well on Samsung Galaxy phones. However, following the phone operating system updating to Android 10 and Samsung One UI version 2 it no longer works . The album artwork, which had previously displayed in Google's Play Music app, disappeared. It also disappeared from the Album Artwork Grabber app. That app will still search for artwork, but won't save it, either to the app or to the Play Music app. I note others have commented that the app has stopped working for them. Looks like the app has compatibility issues with the updated operating systems.

I've had issues getting album art on Google Play Music since switching to a Motorola phone. (I had an iPhone before, and it was pretty easy to add art there) This has become my tried and true method after trying and failing to go through Google. Very simple and easy to work once you understand it! Love it!

10⭐s for retrieving Album cover artwork that iTunes and Windows 7 Media Player couldn't. I ripped all my CDs with iTunes and synced them to my phone ($80°° Motorola) with WPM. Playing songs with a great app called Music Player. AAGrabber took me a few minutes to figure out by trial and error. Tap the GRAB button first. Didn't work. Tap CLEAR, then GRAB again - Bingo! Fix any (?) ones by DELETING problematic artist/album name then inserting correct info. This thing is 10 yrs old and it works !👌

WOW! It is simply AMAZING how many albums this app can't find covers for! It finds some of the rare stuff but can't find relativily common album covers at times! LastFM is all that works, Musicbrainz doesn't work at all! Rather dissappointing, I expected better! While I am loading album art from this I don't recommend this, it is simply inadequate! The album art acquired DOES NOT DISPLAY IN VLC! Uninstalled this junk!

Album Art Grabber is a pretty good app, operates solidly. I like that even if the app cant find the art work, it allows you to use art that has been downloaded to phone. My only gripe is that I have tons of music and I have to scroll forever to find an album. If developers add a search bar I would gladly give 5 stars. Recently my phone(Galaxy Note9) updated and deleted ALL of my album art. Phone mssg now says app is for older version and needs to be updated. I hope the developer updates app.

Exactly what I needed, a simple app that changed the (often explicit) album/song covers for my songs to whatever stock image I wanted. It is easy to use, simple, and useful. The tiny thing I'd like to have added is the option to narrow down what specific folders the music files are from because all my ringtones showed up on this app and was kinda annoying to scroll through them. Other than than that great app.

This app was excellent! Absolutely brilliant but now with the latest UI update every single album art I had has disappeared, the app now crashes and when you actually can use it, the album art will not save. I know it's probably useless saying the same thing a 1,000 other people are saying but can we get an update please?

Overall, I'd say this is a good app. I was able to easily find artwork for many of the songs I have saved on my phone. My one gripe is that there is some artwork for albums that aren't on this app, but that I know exist. There is an issue where an album would have an artist in the "artists" section of the file, but would be marked as "various artists" in this app. It is also impossible to search by album. I would suggest to the developer: tweak the app, and expand the artwork library.

What junk. All this app did was corrupt a lot of my album art for my current mp3s. I tried to correct what this app did by deleting the songs on my phone and re-uploading them. No luck. It's like there is a cache and the wrong album art is stuck to the album and songs. Even after deleting this app, it still can't be corrected. Thanks for wrecking my phone. My fault though...I got what I paid for...which was nothing.

Was originally great, but they haven't updated it in ages. The newer your phone, the more buggy it is. I just got a Galaxy S22 and it no longer works at all. If they ever do an update this review may become irrelevant, but for now this is like installing Windows 95 and hoping all the 2022 websites work.

Unusable. Since it hasn't been updated in 6 years, it can't find any art from anything in that time- but that doesn't even matter, because even with older albums, the app crashes as soon as you select one. Why on earth is this at the top of the list when you search for this type of app?

Absolutely fantastic app in the past, got all the artwork for albums or inserted my own if needed. However, since the android updates (which incidentally has also ruined the indexing on my music collection), cant attach any artwork and app keeps stopping. Used to be vital on my phones, now dont bother.

It didn't work when I tried to grab the art and when I got my own image it set one image for every song. When I tried to change it, it wouldn't work. So now my Samsung music app has the same pic for every song, even though I deleted the app several times.

No longer works. This app hasn't been updated in a long time. It no longer performs the bare minimum functionality of getting album art. It does, however, still serve ads.

It used to work. Now it can only find about 10% of the album covers. When I try to manually assign the cover, it errors out. I paid for the upgraded version without ads. Not a good value. Android 10. Pixel 3a.

Cool app with an unreliable search engine. I search for a famous artist like Judas Priest and it says it can't find results. Retry the search a few times with no results. Back out of the album, go back into the search and it works 70% of the time. Sometimes the search works first try. It doesn't yield results often enough, causing me to write this review to warn others. That should tell you how frustrating it is.

Seeing how this app was last updated in 2014 probarly tells you it's been abandoned by the developers as it won't work on Android 10. It did work on Android 9 to a degree but I still had to search for many album artworks and download them from Google Images. Look elsewhere this app is hopeless now.

This app has become trash, another casualty of needless updates that dont seem to ever make things better, better for customers anyway. Anyone else having this issue should switch to the Star Music Tag Editor app, it works the same way this one used to. It supports Android 10 & up, works just fine with my Galaxy S10+.

I don't understand the positive reviews of this app. Acts that it gave the wrong cover to on my phone include: the Beatles, the Magnetic Fields, David Bowie. It can't find loads of covers even from big names and when you have albums called 'Best of...' or 'Greatest Hits' good luck on whose cover you get. Waste of time.

This app is really good if you're looking to find missing album covers, but the only drawback it's not currently up to date for newer albums released since it's last update, if they could add more search choices it would be perfect.

I have tried this app for a few weeks now and it works OK but has a few limitations that I hope can be addressed. Firstly many artists have albums with the same title. This software only seems to look for Album name NOT band name So once an album cover is downloaded for One album it will apply to any other album of same name. Software should search for Band name and then album and not just album name. Secondly, I have found Album Art at DISCOGS to be far more accurate and complete than LastFM and MusicBrainz put together. So this software would be a far better product if it used sites that had more information.

It failed in finding almost any of the artwork. Unable to identify most of my music files. I can't see why my search for the best album cover finder rated this. I certainly don't, it's pretty terrible.

I loved this app, it saved me so much time looking for art and downloading then findong the golder and uploading ect ect... this was awesome until this last samsung update and most of the 800+ albums that had art no longer do, nor will it let me set any new ones! please fix this! Thanks

It worked like a charm for a year or so, then it just randomly forced every single album to have the doors' greatest hits as the cover. Disappointed because it worked perfectly for so long.

my go to for changing the album art on my phone, my only complaint is that sometimes it just randomly closes when I try to use it. but if I open it up again it doesn't seem to have any trouble :)

Garbage. Works initially but always reverts back to wrong artwork, never "saves" what I set the artwork to. Uninstalling. Would not recommend.

Was great app. Updated version would ONLY match music on Google Play... Music there already has artwork. Wanted cover art for my own cds I had digitized. Says it can no longer scan SD cards. Worthless? Yup. Uninstalled!
