Terrible app. It functioned once for its intended use. Immediately after closing the app and returning to it, the data usage failed to display. Now I am unable to access the app completely, after several reinstallations. After skimming through the plethora of one star reviews, I acknowledge that the developers have no intention to correct these issues. If you are using Mifi, do not download the app it's a waste of time. Hopefully, the issue is resolved in the future.
I give it 3 stars because ultimately it works. 2 stars off because after connecting to the WiFi device, You have to log in (normal), then you get the device control panel, but it does not allow you to do anything and the timer just flickers. Next, it will boot you to the login screen again saying you have been "kicked off"..then you have to close the app completely, then log back in again.. THEN you can unlock your SIM and run. AFTER that, the app just launches itself randomly.. So, Yes it works, but not without testing your last nerves. Used with S5 and Note 8
Not impressed, the point of these interfaces are to control access, configure the device, and most importantly - check balances. A pocket router typically has a set amount of data. If I have to take the SIM out of the router every time I want to check balances, what is the point? Look at the Huawei HI-link app as an example of how it's supposed to be done. On my MW40V this is more trouble than it is worth. It is doubtful that I would buy an Alcatel device again.
I purchased an Alcatel Hotspot device on my MetroPCS Plan the day prior to them switching to Metro PCS by T-Mobile. The very next day, after the switch, I received a firmware update to the Alcatel Linkzone device. Once the update was installed and I rebooted the device, the Linkzone App no longer recognizes that I am connected to this hotspot. It is funny, however, that the day I bought the device, the app worked flawlessly. I have been in touch with MetroPCS and they have replaced the device, app still doesn't work. I have been on the phone with Alcatel directly, and was told there were no more updates to the app available.
This app is pretty bad. First thing I get is quick setup (even though it has already been set up via computer), but the quick setup wants to enforce 16 or less characters for the passkey whereas the passkey I used when setup via computer is longer than 16 characters. So if I proceed with the quick setup in the app it will reset the device with a different password and other devices will have to be configured (not to mention the password will be shorter than I prefer.
It needs some serious improvements. The app starts malfunctioning after a while, the data plan bugs out, you can't manage connected devices anymore, among other things. The developers should really look into these issues. The concept of the app is great, but these issues seriously compromise the effectiveness of it.
Well, the same comment seems to be running through all the reviews The app works for a few days and stops It worked the first 2 days for me as well I kept getting a prompt that a new version was available for update. I did the update and that was it. I have never been able to login again!. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app, reset password to factory default but still not allow me to login I surprised the developer says nothing about this issue which runs through. Disappointing!!!
it will not accept my password for admin. i have reset too .many times and e ntered admin pass from booklet
Excellent service excellent product and I didn't use this product but I did want to I never seem to have the time to be a deep anymore I am making rock music and happy to say that this Alcatel is pretty good phone when you add that it was a hundred bucks and if you add a 64 gig MicroSD it really it really works high production like a mohawk production it really puts out production on the next one add another microSD and add the .9t
Since the last update, the app is always giving an error message when you try to sign in. Even after restoring to factory settings, the result is still the same. I uninstall and reinstall the app. The result was still the same. It is always saying "current password is wrong".
The app needs an update. It works like a brower whereas huawei wifi app works like an app should. Also when changing network mode between 3G and 4G it always requires us to disconnect data and then come back to toggle when it should automatically close data when we try to switch and then auto reconnect again just like other wifi app do
Not working on Android 10+
I've only used the app for a week and it started out working fine but over the past few days, I've been unable to check my usage or battery levels as it keeps saying that a link is broken and to connect to a mobile hotspot when it's connected to wifi. I've uninstall and reinstall it but the same thing. Not connecting.
so far its seems I paid for this thing for no reason, seems a bit ridiculous to pay for a device for hotspot anywhere and time (*still have a ton a data left on current month) then the app for said device won't show that phone/laptop/tablet is connected even if phone/laptop/tablet is showing connected to hotspot/wifi. Once issue is fix and app does as play store description I will review and provide updated amount of stars and review.
Was not able to connect at first with my password while password was working on browser. However at setting up this app it noticed my network, but the SSID was too long. Shortened the name, still could not login except on the web. Cleared cache, removed the app, re-installed the app and now it connects flawless. Actually wanted to give 4 stars for the trouble, but it works with no further issues encountered.
This should be removed from the app store it's a waste of data and space
Not working most of the time. This is very unreliable app. If you can't log in, before you make factory reset on device, first try to connect through browser. Most likely you will succeed and will be able to administrate your device. In most cases problem is with app which is simply not working.
Won't let me login : "invalid password". Reset to factory settings, recreated password with same result. Yet I can login with that password in the browser. (Have the MW40V little pocket router.) Used to work. Lots of issues since last year. I use the browser instead. This app now won't log on at all.
The latest update caused a major malfunction of the app. It keeps showing an error message when one tries to access the app with the usual password. The error persisted even after reinstalling the app. Luckily the web application still functions perfectly; rendering this app useless.
The app is pretty good, it works well but since l started to use 1. l can't switch of wifi on phone it automatically switches on. 2.It lacks option for accessing sd card. 3. I cant access USSD dialing via app but only if l use browser 4. It access microphone permission therefore if possible lets call via it But it a great app, l appreciate your effort
Unfortunately this app fails before it had a chance to succeed. Having set the admin and wpa2/psk passwords up using a laptop and browser, i attempted to access the linkzone via this app on an android, access was denied. After an hour or so of trial and error i isolated the problem down to the app see's special characters as being an invalid option even when those special characters meet the conditions it recommends.... long short... i choose strong password security over convienience of the ap
First time I installed the app it was working fine, but after a day (and may be after the last update on my LinkZone), the app started disconnecting and inviting me to login again a dozen times. And it doesn't give access to USSD section (which is available when using the browser). Waiting for the app update to fix these troubles.
The app is okay. But I have trouble with it kicking me out everytime it reaches a time of 5min. With no option of setting it to extend the time limit. This gets irritating as I have to frequently connect when it automatically disconnects
The problem is in the password validation in the app. You can use your favourite password with special characters for Web interface, but app will tell you that this nice complex password is invalid. Stupid. You will have to change your super secret password to something with letters only to make it work in the app.
