Update: 9/18/19- I downloaded the latest version(1.0.8.7) and it does not work. It just crashes or turns into a black screen. Without the app, the camera is useless. The app used to work until 9/11/19. Now it just crashes as soon as you turn it on. The other thing that needs to be fixed, is that it doesn't remember the country code, and defaults to China. I'm in the US, and I shouldn't have to search for it, every time it says my token has expired.

App is still crashing on my Samsung G-S9. And I pay for the cloud service. Thanks for the update, I'm now able to log in and then I only get as far as a black screen and it times out (close, wait, send feedback). I've now sent an e-mail to support to continue this conversation a little more direct and will edit this. I bumped up the rating one more star just as an average of my experience with the device and app; it was great when I first got it, but now so many things are wrong with it.

The cameras are great for what I paid for them but the app needs some major improvement. Every time they get disconnected from the internet it's hours over days of waiting and waiting and waiting trying to reconnect them. I do everything possible to get them connected, clear cache, check setting on my phone, the app and router, reset the router, deleting the cameras, uninstalling the app and reinstalling, whatever their site suggests, etc. and much more. Then out of nowhere it might work.

Video saves to phone with no option to save to memory card. Needs to constantly be recalibrated often. Think the contacts on the switch relays need to close for longer than a second as it takes several attempts to open or close the garage doors. Ne version of the app does not connect to my wifi. Message "the current network is poor, please try again."

Device was confussing & not clear using the instructions. App doesn't auto open nor dose app icon show in my apps library. Have tp go to play store each time to open the app. No display settings, doesn't allow screen rotation, only opens with a landscape/horizontal image in a portrait view in the top 1/4 of the screen. To see the image correctly you need to turn the phone landscape but the image is small, hard to see. Speaker & mic leave a lot to be desired. No vol cntl, audio in/out mic/spkr!

Just installed the camera & App but I cant seem to connect Google home to the app. I tried Google home add (works with Google) add Alcidae and sign in/accept then it says linking but fails every time! Tried with 2 different phones, two different emails with no luck! The app does however open the Garage door on its own but id prefer to integrate it with smart home devices. Im not sure if i should return the device or if there is support for these products?

I can view the camera and open/close the garage door... That's where the good ends. Constant errant motion detection notifications. No way to toggle off motion detecting. Clearing motion events is very tedious...bad UI/UX. Google cannot connect to Alcidae to link accounts. There's no way I'd consider giving more money in the form of a subscription with these glaring software flaws.

Box says Works with Google Assistant but I cannot get the Home app to connect to my Alcidae account. It goes through the log in process but when it goes back out to the Home connected accounts screen the Alcidae account is not listed nor does the camera show up in the list of devices. I guess the Alcidae app works fine on it's own but I don't want to deal with two apps to check both of my cameras. Dissapointed. Would have bought more cameras if this worked with home.

Update 11/6/2019 - cleared data and cache and now the app is working again but who knows for how long. - Broken again! It says network is poor and won't open the video steam. The network speed is fast when measured next to the camera so that's not the problem. It's been this way for days. I would think twice about buying any of their products.

Simple but functional. Camera works very well but needs update of software. Update- After 2 years, these cameras & their app are still working fine. Has motion detection. I hope they have an outdoor unit too.

First, this app seems to break volume button control for media volume, it forces control of in-call volume on the volume rocker. The only way to regain media volume control is to force close this app. Second, why is this app using in-call volume channel for the audio? It makes it inaudible unless you hold the phone like you're in a call! It should have been on media volume channel! Third, the amount of network traffic this thing generates is ridiculous! I can send you logs if you like.

All cloud playback videos fail to load. I've cleared the cache on my phone for this app and even reinstalled it. I try to play a video and all it ever says is "Cloud video playback failed". Glad I'm just using the 30 day trial right now. I can't see paying for something that does not work.

The instructions were a bit confusing to me but once I understood it I was able to successful install and configure the device. tips, 1). change your phone temporarily to 2.4gig 2). there is an easy wired setup to enable the app to open and close your door. 3) if you have a chamberlin, like me, you may jam e to look for lift master instructions instead. 4) I am not sure if I can get Google assistant to work with put a hub but I will try.

I have updated the application to the latest version and it's crashing all the time... Also the way notification are made through this app are useless... I won't let this apps open all day long to see that someone open the door. You guys need to have the notification sent to Android Notification system.

Camera has worked flawlessly for months. Now all of a sudden I keep getting "poor connection" and won't open. Only way to fix is to reset camera and reinstall app, but this only is a temporary fix and stopped working again soon after. First few emails to support were standard reinstall app, reset camera, ect. Now no responses.

Horrible integration with Google Home. Can't just pair like other devices on Google Home. You'll have to jump through several hoops through Google "Assistant" and the Alcidae Smart Home and just keeps coming up no devices found or some other excuse. Will be taking item back for refund. Useless to me with out integration.

Cannot even set up an account to use it!! I sure am not going to pull my dusty laptop and go thru all its updates just to set up an account. Very poor verification screen. And yes I have a current android phone.

April 2022. Still has bugs. Freezes at 97 percent. For every time my ring door bell goes off line. This goes offline 30 times. My rating went from 3 to two stars.

Wireless cameras are amazing! Even if all the lights are off, you can still see clearly as if it were daytime. Quality cameras and the guys who do the set will help you with any questions.

This software need a lot improvement. (1) after connection of wifi it goes to add device. Can be continued for setting up. (2) Video is unable to store in micro SD card. Giving up!!!

1) Camera that I bought had instructions that told me to download this app, but that camera is not listed in the setup options 2) using set up for a different camera option seems too work, tells me it's connected but offers no option to finish setup so I can use the camera, and going back nullifies the setup. Returning cameras and uninstalling the app. Junk.

I love this app!! Being able to set the temp in my house through the app is amazing. You can also access all the videos from your cameras. Everything in one place. Highly recommend.

Garage Cam works for a few days then stops loading. Have to remove and then re-add the camera via the App. That fixes it sometimes. It's good when it works but is mostly very buggy.

Getting error "the current network is poor" all the time, my network speed is very high. I think it is another error and that the app just says network, very disappointed 😢

Absolutely love this service!!!!!! Having the Alcidae alarm system makes me & my family feel safe. We have not encountered any problems with the system at all. The mobile app is awesome as well. I Love it

Need to improve the Cloud playback UI. would be nice after reviewing a clip that the liat doesnt return to the top/most recent. Pain to have to scroll down after each review.
