When it was connected to my old phone. Any false alerts it sensed you couldn't double tap the watch and hold to stop it 90% of the time, have to use the phone almost always to cancel the false alert. Tapping it to look at the time is a surprise if it does work. I bought a new phone, and now I cannot get it to connect via Bluetooth no matter what I do. I followed all the steps the support page said to do and it doesn't work. Wasted my money on this watch. I'd rather go to the ER. Wasted money.
Glad I have this safety resource, but since the last update it seems to have been less reliable. The connection drops regularly even when my phone is nearby. I'll sometimes have to turn Bluetooth on/off if not restart my phone. Additionally, alerts do not come up on my phone with the 15 second window to cancel them. I can still cancel them by touch on the device itself. For reference, I have an android phone.
Constantly disconnects even when my phone is in my pocket. Unacceptible when other bluetooth devices can stay connect through walls to the cell phone in the car outside. Have to basically sleep with my phone in my hand. If I role over it may disconnect n loose it's ability to work. If there was another option to use my HSA to pay for. I WOULD BE USING IT. Had a seizure near my desk where I was working. Got disoriented and walked 7-8 paces away and went down (no notifications/lost connection)
Very good. I actually feel safe to do stuff now: working, hanging out with friends, going for walks alone, etc... However, there are ALOT of false alarms, especially when running or cooking. And it's not always easy to tell when an alert pops up I think the app could be GREATLY improved by sending sound notifications to the phone when the countdown to sending alerts pops up. I also wish I could setup times for the Rest Mode feature to turn on and off automatically.
False sense of security. When I walk with rollator it sets alert off. I turn off caregivers when I have someone with me, but what about when I'm alone? Also, disconnects from bluetooth almost daily. I have to restart my phone. Feel somewhat safer, but don't have full confidence it will work when critical. Just downloaded new update. Will update l8r based on how update works. Needs to identify seizures vs. life activity better. I don't feel safe going out alone, but if on it alerts too much.
Wonderful for security, though I've had issues with the sensitivity....I work at a big box grocery store and when I'm pushing a shopping cart over a tile floor, it will often send the notice to my 'important' people...so, I spend lots of time either pushing the cart with only the hand with the alarm wrap on it, or ill put it in my pocket, which is obviously not what I should do....my wife has tried to change the settings to make it less sensitive, but with limited results....
This is a great app and device for people with convulsive seizures. It's helped someone be there for almost all my seizures. However when my connection drops or I'd I switch from my garage wifi to my house wifi I have to force close the app to get my embrace 2 to connect back to the app. I've been doing this for 2 years now hoping there would be some update to fix this issue. I had the app first on my galaxy s9 I figured it was my phones problem but now I have a galaxy s20 and it's the same.
When the watch works, it's great. Recently however, I cannot get my phone to connect to the Embrace watch at all. I've followed the troubleshooting guide on their website but that didnt help either. A little disappointed with this product because the subscription fee and the watch itself are NOT cheap.
I no longer am having disconnects in my sleep after purchasing the new watch. It's worth every penny and I can finally relax. No crazy false alarms either! If you or a loved one has generalized epilepsy, this is a miracle product.
Disconnects a lot. Had a seizure while it was not connected....thank God I have a service Dog🤦🏽♀️ fix connection issues and maybe the watch will be worth the money I spent for it and the subscription. Otherwise the app works accurately! Does what it's supposed to. Great to give records for my doctor
I got this watch with the hopes that it would help someone get to me while having a seizure BUT i went through every step in the set up and did EVERYTHING it asked and it wont stay connected to my phone and wont work cuz it keeps saying that my service agreement wasent signed when i signed it idk how many times and even says i signed it! Very very very disappointed as i have never even been able to use it nor will i be able to use it more than likely
i got this for my 5yr old daughter, it is good but the connection is terrible! i got it for peace of mind when shes in bed or in another room, but when shes in bed it disconects!! its brilliant when its connected, she hasnt actually had a seizure while wearing it, as the med's seem to be working. i have to use my phone so i dont actually get alerts so im not thrilled about having to get her a phone, but the other care giver does, as we have had a few false alert (due to her activitys)
I love it, except lately I having problems. It's not holding a charge and after I charge it 3 or 4 times. I have to uninstall it and reinstall it. It disconnects from the bluetooth. Otherwise its was a life saver.
More than 24 hours to confirm the email and access to the application, I believe I made a terrible deal as a first impression, very slow support. Even after confirming payment method data, I can't connect to the app.
drops in and out when connected even within a metre. no WiFi connection available. detects seizures when there clearly isn't any happening. doesn't detect when having major clinic tonic. will be attempting refund with 30days. will keep you posted.
Feels like a lot is missing. The wristband disconnects and reseting Bluetooth doesn't help. Must kill the app and then reconnect the device afterwards. Feels useless that Mate and Alert is not the same app.
I'm an epilepsy technologist, I do EEGs, and I have epilepsy. Yes there are false alarms. However, I live alone and once I had a seizure at night-the paramedics came. Because of this watch. It could save my life and I've learned to accommodate to avoid the false alarms. It is very sensitive medical device designed to detect epileptic convulsions. If you think about it, of course it gets it wrong sometimes...! I recommend for generalized seizures who need that extra safety net
Poor connection, won't stay connected for very long. Disabled Bluetooth, enabled Bluetooth worked once. The phone is only 2 years old, updated and current on software updates.
Every time I charge the watch it is no longer paired with the app and the app "searches" for the watch and sometimes finds it but usually Nope Very Frustrating!
It takes forever to load up. I had to put the watch on the app to scan it and had to redo at least 4x both times I got it not to mention it oversensitive and hasn't scanned the seizures 1 time I had.
Disconnects from watch a lot and has a service fee when it uses your phone service to send the text to caregivers. Google "Open Seizure Detector" it runs on your phone and connects to a Pebble Smartwatch (discontinued 😥). And all without a service fee💲😀. Uplkll 10of10 100%) seizures detected and caregivers alearted) successfully on the last seizure my dog (a pitbull) hellped aleart my caregivers.
Seziure, now i seem to have them every month or so. The watch works nicely for me. I had a pairing issue one time but xustomer servious was very helpful now i wear it everyday. I charge it at my desk at work normally for 2 hours or less.i bought this watch to give me a little independence back since i never know when a seizure is coming on. It also brings my 9 year old daughter piece of mind knowing if were not in the same room an alert will go out and i will be ok.
The watch is garbage and for it to be of any possible real benefit (gps telling caregivers where you are) the cost of the subscription is unreasonable. The watch gets most its data wrong, or the app claims no data was collected. Even when the company has admitted to me they screwed up, they fail to make an effort to correct things.
Highly disappointed.Bought this, plus a phone for our 6yo when he started having seizures & diagnosed with epilepsy. We werent thrilled about buying him a phone but did for the security of a seizure alert. Sent us seizure alerts while he was in art class coloring, not a seizure. Did not detect his sleeping seizures as convulsions arent always present. Should also detect oxygen, heart rate, temp. Since the app & connection were an issue, stopped using. Now we cant connect at all. Useless.
The Embrace itself is faulty at best. If the device goes off, the double tap and long press rarely works; I'm always running to my phone to turn it off. It's even worse when in the shower, where it detects every drop of water that hits it as a touch, making the already bad touch detection even harder to turn off. Living alone, I do need to wear it, but sometimes it seems to be more trouble than it's worth. Two stars because the app isn't that bad, it's the device that's terrible.
