Best file viewer by far... no annoying audio/video ads interrupting my moving, deleting, renaming, launching files as with other file managers and it's stable and can select multiple files ('select all' or long pause select individually). Initially didn't recognize saved html pages; refused to launch browser to access html files. But now works correctly for all file types. Only annoyance is it duplicates large viewed or played files from SD to download folder maxing out storage needlessly.
It is nice file manager but when I want to open some SYSTEM files, it says "Can't open file" but not tell the reason that why it can't open that file. Also when I edit any '.txt' file with its Text Viewer, it can't save those changes made after my edits and says, "Unable to save file". Plz fix these issues to get 5⭐ from me. Well, I like that this app can also clear memory and it is ad free. Thanks😇 !
Excellent so far! Compress files & applications ✓ SD card✓ Can't seem to figure out how to select multiple items though...so I have to scroll, select, and execute an operation each time for each item... But it does work well. Is it possible to make zip file more compressed??? THANKS ALFile! EXCELLENT if you need a file utility with compression and backup capabilities,(automatically backs up apps to folder, w/option to compress/uncompress. REALLY handy if you just wiped a device& need backups)

This is much better than what came from Google. I prefer independent data service management. The material on my device feels like it's under my control. Taking it off the device leads to lazy personal data management. I prefer Jocko's idea of "extreme ownership" so will be moving my cloud storage off to a secure provider soon.
Five stars. No better light manager than this considering the size. Small size. Fast. Does not hang and freeze. Good provision for selection. Most of all no annoying ads. No requests for suspicious permissions. Keep it up.
Been using ALFile as my default file browser/ manager for months now & it has been excellent. not sure if it updated without me knowing but it now can't access my SD card without crashing, is it me? not sure what changed.
Just downloaded ALFile. So far, so good. I will of course need time to really use it but I have to say, the last ten I tried, I uninstalled immediately. If it continues to serve me well I will upgrade it to 5 stars in a week. So far I have found it to be very user friendly. I like the way it's designed. It seems fast & from what I've seen in the 5 minutes of use, it seems to be accurate. Lets hope for best!
Note 10+ running on Pie. Like the apk but when I try to scroll down on say a picture folder it keeps bouncing back to the top. Can't scroll past the second "page" rendering it useless:(
Half the time nothing shows up in internal storage or SD card, have to force close app and clear data for files and folders to appear, then everything dissapears next time app is opened. Useless!
I have searched and searched and then searched a little more for a file mangment app that I liked and wasn't confussed by it.I'm confussed naturally any how don't need help from an app.Friends and neighbors this is the Rolls Royce of file managment apps'Easy to understand works great with Chromebook.No adds it showed me files I did'nt know I had.I highly recomend this app.
So far so good. Thank you for letting me lock the app with a pin. If we could lock individual folders, as opposed to the entire app that would be wonderful.
Like this app very much except can't move or delete more than one file at a time. Give us that and I'll give 5 stars. Apart from that it's fast and easy to use and no adds.
REVIEW UPDATE: 10.07.2021 TERRIBLE! After a whole year app STILL There is "NO MOVE FEATURE" and side bar menu is writtin in black cant see it and those are just some of what needs fixing until fixed. UNINSTALLED
All I needed was a simple file manager that would enable me to 'move' files to other folders....3 previous downloaded apps had fsiled....this one DIDN'T. Thanks!!!!

Used it for the first time today. Seems solid, well-constructed. Allows deep and easy access to files and alterations.
So far the app seems to do what it says on the label...gives good access to full file structure - and no ads/pop-ups.
Very good, but where are the bookmarks?. Also yet-another-file-manager lacking Storage Access Framework support (e.g. the Simple Text Editor from Bill Farmer supports it!) so I can't browse my files in Termux home. In the next Android version SAF blinded browsers could become totally unuseful.
Great EXCEPT 1) renaming makes file disappear until app restarted, cache is reset. 2) scrolling to end of list puts you back up to top again, making bottom selection hard to get

It actually displays folder sizes (after enabling in settings) - few apps can. But, its sorting by size does not work.
Folder size option doesn't work. Files keep loading and it doesn't show anything. Also i cannot copy and paste files from ftp server ,
It is good application. But, when searching the apps, the name become default , such 'com.google xxxxxxxx' therefore I feel difficult to find them. Please make the name of apps as it should be. Thanks
This has been a flawless replacement for the original stock Android file managers on several different phone models as well as my Samsung tablets. It has no adds and is small in size so it doesn't take up alot of internal space. It also displays everything quickly and does it in an easy to view fashion. It also perfectly shows you how much space you have used and what free space is remaining. If your phone is stuck and doesn't work properly it may be because you have completely filled up all it's space. You can use this App to delete files, photos, screenshots, videos, songs and even other Apps to get you device running smoothly again. It has a simple and minimalistic color scheme which can be changed to what you prefer in only a few seconds. No disrespect to the world famous Astro file manager but this one is simply much better.
