I have tried booking 3 flights in the past 3 months. Each time they successfully charged my card, issued me with a reservation code and added the entry on the app. All three times when I showed up at the airport the flight apparently was never booked. And I never received the email confirmations. I did get ticket refunds 10 days later for each, but who's refunding my taxi? To make things all the more comical, my app is named "Calendario" instead of "Alitalia." reinstalled but the problem stays.
I still have to understand how I can add boarding passes to the app, something quite straightforward and automatic on all other airline apps I tried (at least 5). Help on website is useless in this respect. Also, some operations like check-ins are carried out in the browser, due to a redirect to an external website. It's probably easier to just do everything in browser directly.
Very frustrating experience trying to check in, it doesn't save the data, the date of birth textbox kept disabled and nothing can be entered. Please fix this! Update: this is not working, i have booked a flight, no reference or email got my inbox, but it appears as my next flight, how is this possible!
The app works fine, but the e-ticket has horrible graphics. The QR code is close to the left edge of the screen instead of being in the middle, so this makes it hard to scan it (both me and Alitalia staff had troubles with it). This should be an easy fix, so please fix it.
App is extremely slow to open, green screen almost forever, no sign of activity, seems frozen. Occasionally I get the logo and I can access it. Not yet been able to use it, installed for checking in via smartphone but will revert to using PC. Useless. Samsung Galaxy S9+ on Wind (IT).
One of the worst airline apps. Scroll lists are not alphabetical which leaves you endlessly scrolling through to find the country required to enter your passenger information. Dates cannot be input directly into the fields so you have to tap endlessly through screens to input a date. Different entry formats across the app totally inconsistent. Random boxes to input which are meaningless to international travellers. It is quicker to check in at the desk at the airport than to use this junk.
Bad,useless app. You can't add additional baggage.I tried but then I had to call an operator and complete my additional baggage request only by phone!the operator said that it could be done only during check in...but with the phone call I complete my booking....so why don't you implement rhis app? it's an incredible waste of money to have an app for Alitalia that can't do anything this.
When my flight was canceled, the only way to reschedule was to call a landline, it wasn't done automatically and it couldn't be done through the app. After the new flight was booked under the same reference code, the app never updated my flight info, so I couldn't check the status of my flight, check in, or get a boarding pass.
Impossible to contact customer service. Due to Covid-19 travel restrictions original itenerary could not be kept. Attempted to make several calls to request cancellation or vouchers. Only once was I able to actually speak with a representative who confirmed my information and then abruptly was cut off and have had no communication since. Air France was not much better. Easy Jet, British Airways, and American Airlines did a great job refunding, rebooking, or issued vouchers.
Could better and could be worse...it worked fine for me. I didn't check in via the app, but getting my boarding passes on it was easy. However the app is somewhat unintuitive and could really use a new design.
Not only this app, but the site as well. Worst flight company i ever used. Our reservation is for 5 people and alitalia only let us check in 4. The last one gives error after error. We also get a error when we try to get the vouchers from the check ins it give us an error in every possible option...
Works fine on my Samsung Galaxy A70. Simple to use and didn't find any issue so far. I think the user experience could be improved although at the moment the user navigation is easy to understand.
Worst app I have seen. Only shows euro and not able to change to US dollars. After all I am purchasing my thickets from the US. Also I have been trying to set a millemiglia account and have no way of doing it from the app. no wonder why you only have a 2.5 stars. I believe that even that is too high. This app needs an overhaul. The only reason I give it a 1 star is because it will not give me a chance to post if no stars.
the app seems nice with a lot of options, but few can be really used. most of the times even the basic task (showing your flights details and your MilleMiglia balance) cannot be carried out. Since the last update, there's been some improvement
The app itself is nice until you need to actually get on a plane. After the check in closes, there is no way to get your boarding pass and the app doesn't even let you save it while its available.
Very impressive app. Booked my flights , checked in online, passed through security checkpoints and boarded my flights all via the app having never printed any paper. Good design and easy to navigate user interface.
Tried checking in. Entered all my details then it repeatedly told me check in wasn't open &/or errors. Eventually did it online through a web browser. Pretty pointless app if it doesn't do the one thing it's supposed to.
What a horrible company. Cancelled my flight and would of held onto my money if I didnt complain. Charged me 66 euros more to book another flight. Online app wouldn't let me check in cost me extra money at the aiport to check in. Woefully understaffed. Wouldn't recommend my worst enemy to use this app or this company. Avoid using Alitalia at all costs. Would give them a 0 star rating if it was possible. Terrible cusomter service. Hung up on me 3 times trying to get information.
There are no redeeming features to this app. Even if it did work (which it doesn't), the available functionality is so poor that you are forced to repeat the same actions over and over again. Not being able to check in your whole party at once is ridiculous.
Had to delete the app because each time I put in my choices it went into computer jargon. So frustrating and hasn't improved despite all manner of assurances. I'll have to go back to using the website again😩
If the app is as good as the magnificent, extremely friendly and hospitable flight crew which looked after my flight to Roma (return) many years ago, then it's a winner. My first ever flight was on Alitalia Airlines, a international flight to Roma via Singapore when Alitalia came to Australia internationally. Amazing airline and truly satisfying.🗾
The app does not work. I entered my booking number, my first and last name and ... ERROR message. I tried three times and then I gave up. I entered the exact same information on the Alitalia website and I managed to check-in so there was nothing wrong with the data I entered.
I tried to check in online with this app and it would not allow me to enter my date of birth !! After many attempts I used the official website which is even worse ! I finally managed to check in after over an hour !! Alitalia please do not tell me that in the whole of Italy we do not have a talented web or app designer !! It was years that I did not travel with Alitalia and now i know why I stopped !! Other companies simply do things better !!!!! Customers deserve better !! Covid will end
As others have said just get a 403 error message. The Alitalia website is the same i f you try to book a flight you just get a 403 error message. Must be a general Internet issue they have with the website is also affecting the app.
The app is rubbish.. it shows error code 403 . It seems like the app is not working at all . What's service Italian!!!!!! Italian job 😂😂😂
App doesn't let you check in, says unavailable constantly. Once you check in on your computer, the boarding pass downloaded on the app is not valid for the airport as scanners are not able to read thr QR code.
App easy to use but impossible to contact assistance, I should travel with a rabbit; and the only possibility to add it at my ticket is calling the customer service. I'm trying to call them since 4 days, 1 time I waited on hold for more than 1 hours and then the call simply hang up. I think that is impossible for a company like this not having a chat support, mail or a customer service that answer at your calls. (I try at least 5 times per day). Please, don't ignore your paying customers.
Good luck if you're trying to contact their call centre to change a cancelled booking. I've tried for a week and nobody ever picked up. Oh, Alitalia is also selling tickets to linate airport that is closed! This way they can make more vouchers or NOT let people change the reserved flights?
Unreliable. Sometimes works fine, other times - not. For example, can suddenly not download the boarding pass, or never email it. Flight search is cumbersome: if when searching change a date of return, have to start the search from start also for the first flight. When using this app you always have to prepare "a plan B" if it suddenly fails.
