Both your app & website are garbage!! Neither one will let me login to where i can save the recipes!! It just keeps looping back to the login section when I'm already logged in because it says "welcome back"!! Needs to be fixed & updated & if you can't, then you shouldn't make the app or website because it doesn't do us any good if we can't log in!!
Very useful, but per usual if you don't pay, it's like waiting for paint to dry. Of course that then makes it useless! Been going through this for years with tablets, phones, etc..all new devices work with it for months, tgem suddenly back to waiting. And waiting. And....you get it, more waiting.
Used to love this app but the recent update took away the notes section and the ability to leave a review. It's also so incredibly daunting to share a recipe with someone. It won't allow you to just copy a link, it will only let you post it to Facebook or send it in an email. Who sends recipes in an email in 2022? I want a copy link button and a way to leave a review or notes! Even if it's just a link that will take you to the browser to do it or something. Just update your app! Come on!
This is my go to app. I do wish it were easier to scroll through an array of items without searching something specific. My home page used to scroll through a ton but now it's the same 10 or so for a whole day. I love finding new recipes but I can't do that when it only suggests similar items.
This app has lost so much functionality it's incredible. I can get to my Favorites list, but nothing else works now. I've also noticed that new recipes from Chef John don't appear, even when I specifically search for them by name. Why would a company try to force its users to go to its website rather than its app? This isn't the 90's.
No matter how many times I update the app, change my password, the app won't let me sign in. I can sign in just fine on the website, not on the app. Very disappointing, because I love the app, I just can't save recipes or access saved recipes on my Android phone.
I have an account already but when I try to sign in on the app it says my credentials are incorrect. Need to be able to sign in on my phone because I'm not willing to go back and forth to my PC to look at the recipe. Very inconvenient. 04/14/2022 Again attempted to sign in to us app on phone and STILL not able to sign in. If I could give a zero star rating I would, very unfortunate.
App works sign in doesn't. I signed in with the same exact credentials at the app and the desktop site at the same time and the desktop is now open and showing my account the app is telling me to check my credentials. Deleting app. I don't need this
Edit 4/21/22: Bye Bye AllRecipes app. Loved you in the past, until an update removed Collections & Notes. I kept waiting for updates to add these back in. Now I've found another recipe app to use. Whisk. I've had this app and loved it for many years. But this new update is horrible. What a joke. And what were the developers thinking?? To remove the Collections, Favorites, and Notes is a disservice to the users. So hard to find my favorited recipes now. PLEASE give us back these features.
Used to be a great app. Now. Filter doesn't work, and recipes are no longer kept in collections. Something happened to mess this app up in the past year.
App provider doesn't respond to customer complaints. So don't waste your time. Find something else. Can't login! Says latest update was March, but when I try to login it refers me to a page saying it's been down since February!? Just fix the damn sign in and let's get back to cooking! SMH.
I have used Allrecipes for years and have been able to submit reviews. Now since changing to an android phone I have not been able to submit reviews or recipes. There is no " I made it " at the end of the recipe, and nothing in the banner. I went into " help" which was no help at all. My question about reviews is still not answered after a few months. I also tried to submit a review on my PC, so not sure its an android issue ??
My only downfall for the app is the allergy section it need to have ot where you can loom up your food allergy and add it if it's not a common one so they can remove it from the options it give you if they fixed that it would be a great app
There should be a button instead of forcing users to shake their phone. It also needs dark mode. And worst of all, it rotates by itself despite auto rotate being turned off on my device.
They got rid of the ability to add your own notes to recipes. I had a lot of recipes saved with my own notes and now they're all gone.
Haven't been able to log in for months. It's ridiculous they haven't fixed this. If you contact support they just shrug their shoulders.
I have notification blocked and you are constantly notifying me. All day every day. I've uninstalled and I still get notification. I will never ever recommend or use you.
Nice reference tool to help take my cooking to the next level. Now that I realize most of the recipes are user submitted I can easily tweak any recipe to my families tastes.
I loved this app until it updated several months ago. Now that it updated I can't even see all the recipes that I put in my favorites.
Where to start? The removed the collections, which makes it harder to search by category. I can no longer leave reviews. When using the search function, it will often bring me to results from my previous search term, rather than the one I inputted. The shopping list often inputs incorrect amounts,and will not let me remove items I already have. The recommendations page hasn't updated in years. As such, until changes areade, I have deleted this app, in favor of Tasty and Big Oven.
It's been well over 2 years now since they made some sort of change to the app and it no longer let's me login using my Facebook account. You would think during that long period of time someone would fix the issue. I even tried using the website instead, where it will allow me to login to my account, but there is no way to view my favorites or reviews, it just sends me in an infinite login loop. So, as I type this, the app is useless as well as the website. Lost all my saved recipes! Yay!
Used to be quite good, but they messed it in the last updates by removing collections. I can still find the recipes I've saved if I scroll through all of them, of if I type the name; but this is a hassle, because I don't always remember the exact name, and because sometimes I want to see different options of the recipe categories (main dishes, desserts, side dishes, etc.). Solution: I uninstalled this version, and got the apk for version 6.5.8; now I can see my collections again.
Like everyone else I am unhappy they removed collections and notes. I don't want to have to break out my laptop when cooking and I can no longer browse categories for dinner ideas when out of the house and make a shopping list. Navigating saved recipes is a nightmare unless you use the search function, which only really helps when you know exactly what you're looking for. No more browsing categories for ideas. Will be looking for another recipe app to organize saved recipes to.
I have always loved the organization an customizable options of Allrecipes. But I was having trouble staying logged in on my computer (It kept telling me that I had to log in even though I just did) On top of that I am unable to find any recipes that I have saved. I downloaded the app to see if maybe that would work better. It won't even let me sign in, or try to "create a new account" Waste of time. I miss the old Allrecipes...
Update: Ever since the change to the favorites and feed sections, I've used this app less. Not a conscious decision but it's too difficult to find recipes for inspiration and to make. Old review: Great recipes with (usually) easy to follow directions. Would like to see an improvement on search filters.
The latest version deprecated the ability to leave a review of a recipe! That's a deal breaker! A very idiotic UX choice! The reviews are integral to the value of the app because they contain hints, tips and tricks for tweaking, adapting and/or correcting recipes, as well as help rank which are the more tested recipes. Also the Feedback button for the app is nonfunctional. I'll give it another update or 2 and see if that functionality gets restored. If not, I'll uninstall and switch to another.
There are many wonderful recipes on here. Searching for a specific meal or using a certain meat or protein doesn't work because it won't filter out other searches. It makes things frustrating when I know I want a chicken dish and it's throwing out beef, pork, and chocolate cake recipes when I asked for chicken. A few much needed upgrades and this could be an awesome app.
