Alpina Smartwatch

Crashes 9 times out of 10. Had high hopes for AlpinerX but with not working app the watch is nothing more than just another ana-digi watch with unjustified high price tag. The watch will not connect/stay connected no metter what.

Would be good if you could add more than one watch to the app, ie Alpina X and Seastrong smart watch

The watch out of nowhere is showing the wrong time with the analog hands but correct on the AMOLED display. The second time zone changed from Chicago to London. And everything is resetet steps, calories..... .The battery went from 65% to 11%. I thing we are very patient with you to sort things out, but everything has its own limitations. I have said it before and I'm saying it again the watch in this state is unusable.

This app really isn't good and is a very poor imitation of the iPhone version. There are major connection issues with the watch, so much so that my alarms don't work anymore. My sleep coach is in French(!?) when I have my language set to English. Trying to analyse sleep isn't useful because when scrolling along your sleep cycle in detail it will change tab. There are a LOT of aesthetic things that aren't quite right. The loading screen at the front has dark filter overtop, however it doesn't stretch edge to edge and you can see the sides of it. The overall app looks low resolution, especially the image on the front loading screen. The colours are incredibly saturated in comparison the the iOS app. Overall, I'd expect better for the price of the watch and the brand it's coming from. The app looks like a cheap Chinese imitation of what it should do - focus on the user experience because, at the moment, it's very lacking!

Disappointing - Poor interface between app & watch. The app doest synchronise with the watch. Often the watch gets "stuck" and its difficult to get it working again despite new battery. Very disappointed with the watch and the whole concept of alpinerx. I have a garmin 735x and it's works effortlessly with the app. No drama, no complexity. I would not recommend this watch to anyone. It's z flawed concept.

Better than the last version, starts transferring data more reliably, but still buggy. The app often unresponsive and invites the user to close it down. Watch now transferring data to 99%, then freezes. On another aspect, altimeter is very unreliable - altitude moves our of correct range very fast. It must be possible for this to be better as the pressure sensor works fine, and there's a smartphone often within range!

I purchased an Alpina hybrid watch just over a year ago now. Since the end of last year I've had several issues with the watch: 1. It often took several attempts to sync with the app. 2. It stopped aligning hands so the time was permanently wrong. 3. The new Alpina app is available and I can no longer sync at all with this app. I kept hoping with each app update that the issues will be fixed. Unfortunately it's still not working. I'll be trying to get a refund.

Testing with the Alpiner X Alive. A lot of bugs and problems. At first the development team was responsive. But that stopped soon and not much progress is made to solve the remaining problems. Support for notifications is still limited to a few apps. You cannot see who's calling you or accept or reject a call. The app is slow to start and often crashes. Connection to the watch is easily lost , so chances are you will miss the few notifications that work. The watch will not reconnect by itself if connection is lost. This is the biggest problem with this watch. Emoticons show as question and exclamations marks. Vibration is too soft, you never feel them. Battery sometimes goes from 100% to 11% in 5 minutes. Simply said: stay away from these watches.

Useless app in Android, tried a number of android phones and cannot connect to any of them, however when trying to connect watch just to bluetooth the phone sees it and connects. Then borrowed a friend's Apple and it connected immediately. Don't bother wasting your time trying to get it to work on any android phone. Waste of time and money.

Don't buy this piece of junk. Total waste of time, effort and money. The AlpinaX constantly loses connection and does not autoconnect. You need to manually check that it's connected and reconnect manually. Thus notificans are unreliable. Also, marketing photos are deceiving - the LED screen is faint, the notification tone can't be heard unless the watch is under your ear. No vibration on notification so pretty much an expensive piece of junk. Tried to contact supplier but no response. Update Feb 11, heard back from the Alpine Team promptly - however, disappointingly their advice didn't amount to much more than the old delete the app and reinstall accepting all permissions. Well, I've done that and still need to re-launch the app every few hours as the connection is extremely unstable. What's more, not only is the local distributer washing their hands from the problem, they refuse to import the new AlpinaX live even when I'm prepared to pay for it.

After 5 months for a warranty repair I got my AlpinerX and it didn't work so it got sent back for another month. Now, it won't sync with the app. I've spent 2 hours messing with the AlpinerX on three phones. I've deleted and reinstalled the app approximately 10 times. Their troubleshooting procedures do not work, at all. Send help!

I would like to give the app and the watch a higher rating, since they have the ability to be great product. I have an AL-284. After a few dsys, the watch becomes slow (display) and then resets itself and after resetting, displays the wrong time (hands) which is very annoying. The only workaround ist to manually reset on a bi-dayly basis ... also the App needs a forced stop once a day as it hangs during sync. I have opened Tickets with alpina, but no response after several weeks now ....

The build is good and sensors are sharp the whole set up is quality, as started to work well with app recently. Downside too much vibration (i.e bang a door) knocks, the watch will reset due to freeplay in hands but it is needed for other functions and livable. The other anoying bit is that without continued connection (1-2 times day) with app then the watch resets and you cant tell time.

Nice interface, but there is nowhere to view calories, also no function as mentioned on last version to toggle BMR calories on or off

Love the watch. Love the app. Manually adding sleep needs some work. It's glitchy. If you add some sleep, say 1am to 5am. Then try to add more later, like noon to 2pm, it doesn't really work. Same if later I try to add 11pm onward. Etc... Also sometimes the data for the day is blank. Like January 10th, so I go back to add some sleep but it says there is already data for that time. No, there is not... Other than this problem, I really like the app. I have the old Alpiner X, all navy blue.

Today I got an Alpinerx watch. I see some problems with the app. 1. Even if I read a message on my phone notification is still on watch. There is no need to stay on watch when I read messages. Only notification what was not sean. 2. After some time the phone is not any more connected to watch. After I open the app then it is connected. I'm using Samsung Note 20 ultra. Thanks!

Same as the other reviews. Constantly unpairs and locks up my phone. Android. It's now June 2021 and seems to have the same issues its always had. Also, notifications do not work whatsoever. Please do an auto update for all devices. Cant download the app because it forces my phone into a constant cycle of pairing notifications. Have to delete app and reboot my phone. I want to support swiss makers, but my fitbit does its job a million times better. Please fix! Send us a message when fixed plz

This app and the software in the watch is a drama! Bluetooth disconnections many times a day, notifications you can't read most of the time, there is no way to power off the watch and the heart sensor is always on even if you don't wear the watch (what a clever software!). So even if you don't wear it, the battery drain is about 20% per day!!! Alpina I thought you were a serious company. Simply putting a cheap Chinese module with problematic firmware, software and hardware is not acceptable.

App does not respond to the watch, and synching is the only way for the watch to display the correct time. Never expected this gift for my mom would prove so challenging to set up. If I go to my Bluetooth the phone sees the watch but the app doesn't.12/2/2020:Support team was very responsive and after a few emails I was able to resolve the connection issues and my mom is enjoying the watch without issue.

Bug report: 1. When initiating a phone call, the watch persistently displays an alert for 'incoming call'. If I'm the one making the call this is not needed! 2. WhatApp notifications do not work from app to watch 3. The app is a battery hog- it consistently appears on my high useage list 4. Notifications do not disappear from the watch if cleared on the phone 5. Automatic reconnection doesn't work - having to press the crown button every time is not a good solution. 6. No differentiation between app notifications. I have Gmail for personal and another email app for work- I don't want the work notifications to ping to the watch, but the app recognises "email" as any email receipt from any installed email client. 7. Temperature on watch is in F and cannot be changed to C. I'm using Galaxy Fold 2 with my Alpiner X Alive. Please improve the app to match the quality of the watch! As there are so few reviews of this watch, I suspect many people will come here to see what's good and what isn't, and it's such a lovely watch it's a shame to have your customer base negatively impacted by poor app support

Fluid and smooth UI, connect easily with the watch. One downside i have not resolved though... i have managed to get the temperature in deg [C] for the weather on the app, but on the watch it is still in deg[F]... a bit inconvenient. Doez some one has a tip for changing the weather settings for the watch?

I was using the MMT365 app, but now see I have to use this. I can't see the advantage yet because it looks like I must create an **optional** account to proceed?? I don't want to do that... so I've abandoned this app after about 1 minute. Edit 2021. Still terrible: you've fallen for the model of grabbing all our data with accounts (didn't need accounts before). Now the password reminder service isn't working. So I can use my watch. Software is hard right? Just stick to the decent hardware...

Great update! I love the new design and functionalities. I regurlarly look at my steps, sleep, heart rate and workout, which are well displayed. It's accurate and easy to use. It makes a super partner with my watch.

Waste of time. I really hoped that one day it will work like a charm but I lost my patience. When the app is working, the sync with the watch is so random. Since the last update, the app is crashing. Where is your Quality Service ? The watch just came back from RMA. I don't know who to blame. The developer or the manufacturer. This is my first and last time with both of them. 900 Euros guys. Come on. This is not a toy. EDIT: I did what you asked. This is not working at all. Still same sync issue.

Great app. Wish it took less taps to set up a custom nap length, otherwise it is very intuitive. Having the data plotted into charts whenever I open the app has really changed how I think about my sleep schedule after years of unhealthy habits.

A Waste of Time - Took my watch out of the drawer for the once a month app update. Tried the new July update, still doesn't link with the watch. I've been trying now for months, even Alpina stopped corresponding with me about the app. Tried everything they have said except standing on my head. What was once was a nice watch spends all its time in a drawer, I've resorted to using my mechanical watches. I would love a refund from Alpina but they ignore my email. If I could I would give it 0 stars.
