This is a great companion app to your TV service. Unfortunately, my cable co sux & this destroys this app's functionality. I've encountered many issues w/ streaming from the app. Good mix of options included. The interface is a little clunky and could use +favorite shortcut on currently playing station, as well as some other cross-functionality between sections. Needs a dark theme, too. Complaints from others are due to their tech ineptitude & not reading app description.
App is useless since it can't be installed on the Amazon Firestick. Update the code to make it compatible with Firestick. Can't be too hard since Firestick uses Android OS.
No longer playing. I have tried restarting my phone, checking for updates to the app, running on wifi, running on cell service and every option puts in a seemingly endless scroll of the loading indicator. I jave used the app for years and enjoyed it, until now. Is there a problem with the servers??
doesn't allow for casting to a screen. really seems unnecessary given all other TV apps seem to support casting.
An enjoyable app! I wish more channels were able to be viewed out-of-network, and that all of the Starz and Encore channels were available On Demand. Perhaps, then, all movies would be unlocked to us in the Starz app.
I downloaded it and can't see squat and if they can't answer the phone and be bothered then someone can take it back where it came from, and I'll go back to Direct TV I can watch TV on my cellphone but on a brand-new laptop I can't see nothing says it was installed but it's not on the laptop anywhere and when I call to get help I was on hold over 35 minutes not a good start
This app sucks. The live TV never works I should have stayed with my old provider.
It was great for the last 6 months and I even recommended it to people. Now lately I can't watch what I have record. It says to try later. I'm really tired of this problem! About ready to move back to Direct tv! Well it is several weeks later and it doesn't work at all! I did Uninstall it and reinstalled and now when you want to watch something it just has that little circle going around and around and then it disappears and the show does not play. I am so upset with this whole thing!
Overall app is okay and a decent companion to the TV service. That being said, the picture quality as of late has been abysmal at best and looks as if it's from 10 years ago. And it doesn't matter if I'm on wifi, 4g lte, 5g or even 5g uwb. I'm one of the lucky ones who's app actually works, just the picture quality is probably the of any app I've used in the past 5 years.
The app keeps saying I'm not connected to my home network. My home network is the only connection I have on this device. Can't really do much with this app. Can't watch any programming. It's just a digital TV guide. That's it. Pretty useless. Edit: I responded to the developers response as instructed and was given the run around. Back to square one. This app is still useless.
Only up until today, I had no major problems with this app. Then today it starts freezing up. That happened repeatedly over a 2-hour period. During that time, I closed and re-opened the app, restarted my Samsung tablet twice, and the just left the app alone and went to apps that were functioning properly. I come back later, after several hours, and still had the same problem with the app - there was an error playing this video. I reinstalled it, cleared the cache for nothing - same msg.
It works well most of the time. The problems begin if you close your phone. When you unlock your phone the cable box will change channels, sometimes multiple times. Other times when your phone locks because of inactivity you may have to reconnect the app to the cable box. Then it doesn't always work until you go to the guide and pick a channel which finishes the reconnect. The guide always starting on channel 2 can be annoying as is the fact that the guide doesn't have the times marked out.
It does not allow me to see my account or pay my bill. Otherwise, I have not had issues with the app. Now trying to reach a human on the phone is VERY FRUSTRATING! I have only had the service for 2 months, and have had 2 remote controls (still doesnt work) and cannot go thru a week without having to reboot my box. I have to use my cell or ipad for remote functions. WTHEEEZY! INSANE and FRUSTRATING!
When I try to play a show I get an error message code 35-5 and told to try again later. It's been almost 2 weeks later and still getting the error code. It worked just fine then bam! No more videos. I see there is a similar complaint a year ago. How can this problem not be fixed. I may just cancel my cable all together. I can pay for hulu and Netflix just the same.
Up until the past week, I wasn't having issues with the app. However, now it is telling me that certain programs don't exist when I search them (although they are appearing when I use the search feature on my tv), it is telling me I need to subscribe to 90% of the channels I already have a a Premier client to view descriptions/show details...just an unhelpful and underwhelming app
This app has always had problems, requires logging in multiple times, quitting if you press the skip 30 seconds or rewind 10 seconds button. The guide appears sometimes. I can hardly play my recorded shows on my device without an error message. You still can't connect a smart tv or firestick. They've had the app out for too long for it to still be this terrible.
I had optimum cable and internet &phone for over 35 years. I upgraded to Altice One about 3 weeks ago The box all work off of the main box through the yifi. It doesn't work , every box has a different issue. When I call service they want to charge me for the technician to come back to fix it. They didn't set it up right in the first place and know they won't fix it .stay away from this company. I am calling Verizon.
This applies to Android and Apple apps (Apple TV). It's great you can watch but this is complete trash when I pay for DVR service and CAN'T REWIND, PAUSE/PLAY LIVE SHOWS. Of course you can't fast forward because you can't pause or rewind. SERIOUSLY need to update the app functionality on BOTH ecosystems. Who wants to record a show just to pause it and then when you record it's only from the time you started recording not from the time you started watching that channel or program. Get it 2gether!
just switched to Altice/Optimum from Verizon FIOS and have used this app for about 2 weeks. The most frustrating aspect is that video stops playing if you open another app or minimize it. YouTube, SiriusXM and FIOS all continue to play so you can keep your video playing in the background. I've searched for a setting to change this but havent found one. Also, Optimum claims that they're Internet speeds remain constant regardless of high traffic times. This is not our experience at all.
This app doesnt even deserve one star. Its the only way i could post this review. I logged in once and now i cant get back in. It loops you in error messages. You cant even call to get help from anyone. I tried so many times to get this to work. I would love to see my recorded shows while om away from home. This app in inferior and so is Optimum cable service. You get what you pay for i guess. Verizon is expensive but reliable. I will be switching back.
The app shows you all the networks but you can't watch 80% of them because you are always sent to the app store to download the networks apps. This means that this app is useless. If I wanted to download additional apps, I would of have done it my self without the need of Alice one. When I had Xfinity (Stream) and Verizon (My fios), I could watch all the channels lineup in one app at home and about 60% of channels out of home. This app is totally useless to most folks.
app seems to reload in the background. If using the app to control DVR it will randomly load what you selected over a day ago while watching live tv launching the dvr once again. Thought something was wrong with my cable boxes until I closed the app running in the background and problem solved. I have since uninstalled app to avoid this issue moving forward.
The DVR feature of this app never works and always displays the same error code as the cause. Without fail, every time. It also crashes to an app restart when I exit viewing one show or channel but not until I find and select something else to watch. TV service with Altice One is terrific. This app makes me frustrated and annoyed.
This app could be great if I didn't have to uninstall and re install several times a day. Constant problems with errors. Calling Altice several times got nowhere as I was told they couldn't do anything about it as it wasn't under their control. This all started around July 2019 and still persists in spite of updates since then. Is anyone at the company listening?! Update. Still no response after twice contacting above "support". What a overpriced POS this company is!
I have read a A LOT of reviews that say the quality of the streaming channels is incredibly substandard (it never says its in HD). Every time, you suggest emailing your support team to address the issue. Either fix the issue or post why it has something to do with OUR phones and what settings we need to adjust. In a time when more and more people are cutting thd cord, you'd be best served not giving your customers the brush off.
I type in my user ID, it says that it doesn't exist. Terrible. Especially when I pay so much for television. About getting that time to cut the cable. I thought cable want suppose to be spotty. It's worse than when I had DirecTV. CTN_ code 0-23 it says the user name doesn't exist but again, it does. ctn- even with the update, I still can't log on. maybe it's just Suddenlink customers.
Useless app. THE APP won't connect to wifi so can't watch TV on my phone. This has been in the last month. The response from them below is a joke and they don't understand the issue. Not one person at the company even gets you to the right place when you call. Neither does the automated system. They can't even transfer you to the right place even when they try. Absolutely atrocious with no help no matter how many times I try and how much time I waste.
you cannot playback recorded movies get error code 35-5. Technical support is clueless and said no one has ever had an issue with the app and because it's free i should not complain about it. The tech placed no value to the fact that we $150 per month to Suddenlink mainly to have this feature work. We don't have a choice in our neighborhood. My suggestion is OTA.
Freezes and resets constantly. Does not find the boxes only minutes after loading. Lags, like that horrible bluetooth remote, then fails to work. I am stunned by how much of an all around unfinished product Altice is. Boxes, remotes, and app are all amatuer products. You should be ashamed at the quality of what you offer.
Like the App, but found when trying to use the Remote Control feature, there is no option to raise or lower the volume ... nor to mute! Is there a plan to include those functions? Would be quite helpful while working at home to be able to lower the volume when on calls or virtual meetings without leaving the desk to do so.
