This altimeter app, to measure altitude uses:
- GPS satellites triangulation
- works without internet connection,
- barometer pressure sensor (if available in your device)
- high accurate data; if internet connection is available it calibrates itself to improve accuracy,
- online networks location services (wifi and other)
- need internet connection.
You can use each sensor separate or all together.

I liked everything about this app, and bought the pro version. Today I went on a bike ride with a 900 meter peak and a 990 meter one, the app reported them as 400 and 470. If an altimeter is off by 100% then it is a failure however good the UI might be. (I checked the altitude with both google and open maps to confirm my opinion that they were a lot more than 500)
One of the best altitude gazing apps out there. Quite accurate too. Simple UX and very easy to use. Has other features, such as, Record Activity (Distance Covered) but don't use them much. BEST PART, it work offline! Very handy for a hiker.
This app has been the most seamless and intuitive altimeter app I have ever used and it works constantly no matter the speed. I personally use it for road trips cuz I like to see my elevation. I did pay for the premium $2 is well worth it
It is good as any other Altimeter out there, but best part it works offline, doesn't rely on internet everytime you run it. So while hiking or on a plane, where there is no Internet connectivity, you can use Altimeter to check your Altitude.
Tested Accuracy in my area based on topographical map and it's very accurate! Nice and easy to use the app, and a simple and effective UI! Bonus features included such as a Map with GPS and altitude history! Good job guys, give us another! :D
A good tool; but does not recognize dark mode on my phone. Results in unreadable black text on a near-black background in the notification. Only way to see data is to open the full app.
I like it. It works well. Paid $1.99 for it. I can record my bike rides with it. I tells me total distance, average speed, total elevation change and probably some other stuff that I don't pay attention to.
Using it a lot for trekking and hiking. It works for non-barometer phone too as long as have clear sky even in a forest or between cliff. It's more accurate if the phone have gps signal - data network signal - built in barometer. Thanks !
Inaccurate altitude. I took altitude at the top of a cliff and then at the bottom. This app said it was only 67 feet different when it is at least double that.
I apparently descended 10 feet in elevation when I stood up and walked into my kitchen. Then I climbed the hill behind my house until I was above the roofline, and this app told me that I was at the same elevation as sitting on my couch. I actually watched the recorded elevation descend as I hiked uphill. This app installs itself as always on and does not work.
I installed this while traveling in the southwest, and it was wrong from the start. Not sure why, but It hasn't measured accurately at all... Like 2000 ft low!
Generally very good. One small problem in the settings menu you cannot set calories to kilojoules. Calories are not metric as the app implies.
Exceptionally INACCURATE, always 100 to 400 feet in elevation LOW, then 300 feet HIGH! Remains VERY hard to read, print is small, and unadjustable, black and whit during day is blur, at night is all glare. DON'T BOTHER WITH THIS ONE IT EANTS MONEY CONTINUALLY, BUT NOT SURE WHY ANYONE WOULD PAY FOR THIS TRASH!
not precise at all, about 6 meters error correction needed. for example when the app says ur altitude is 146, either u are at 140 above sea level or 152.
Hi all. I used the app and considered altitudes of some cities from app and also from available data. The comparison is saying that app is accurate.
Works as advertised... But it's constantly running in the background with no way to exit or stop the app within the app.
As a realtor in the mountains, we are often asked for altitude of a property. This app is always my first source and its great to be able to tell people immediately what altitude we are at!
"Great idea, confusing implementation" sums up my experience. The tiny "record hike" buttons are tucked away in a corner. In one display the altitude gained/lost matches the displayed max/min. In another place, a 300 ft gain was displayed as 11,000+ ft! Trying to display two separate walks in one day failed. The only route shown was the last, ½ mile, walk. The 1.5 - 2.0 mile walk couldn't be displayed. The free app has ads, the $1.99 Pro app doesn't. Overall, the app is disappointing.
