This altimeter assumes you are an altimeter savant. It tells you things in meters with no choice of options. It asks questions without a place to answer. It jumps right into sharing photos as if the mastery is already there, and I couldn't even get a reading. It launches without the participant. I couldn't spend time on it because it's for experts. It even told me that I could put in my altitude so I could calibrate... I do not know my altitude! That's why I wanted the app!
Couldn't get out of the permissions. It did work but frozen now. I'm uninstalling the app it's now a big frustration.
Once it gives the altitude, it won't update unless you close it, and re-open the app, even when set to update every 60 sec. A no go when im driving in the mountains and want to see my elevations at regular intervals. The ads have no trouble popping up regularly, however.
I love it, it settles a lot of arguments. After I gave it five stars and said I love it I went back to the app and found out they still want me to rate it and I can't get rid of that. Gerrr!!!
Pretty accurate. It even shows the current altimeter setting to correct for pressure changes.
App works very well. Actually kind of surprised it works as well as it does. Would be nice to have longer on time or permanently on when plugged in. Kind of distracting when trying to drive and having to turn display back on. Then it would be a 5.
Too many ads, it may or may not be a good app, every 1-2 min ( if not shorter, a full screen app pops up, then there is also the constant and active ( animated or motion) ad at the bottom of the screen. Thanks, but no thanks
Couldn't get it to work and the adds were deceptive. Example: Dangerous Storm in your area. Click on that and it tries to sell you a weather checking app. I'm a weather spotter. I don't need false info staring at me all the time.
A fun app when driving through the Alps. I like the camera feature that adds altitude to a picture taken through the app, but would like it to be one step, with the picture going immediately into the gallery, and the app ready to take another.
There are ads, but most apps have ads and they don't bother me. I've tested this app against an actual physical altimeter and the app is very accurate. If you need an altimeter for business or play, this is a good choice.
So far so good. This is to be updated as I use it more. Just wanted to say sure send me the english language texts that you have and I will correct any grammar or word usage for you for free. I am a native English speaking person and have lived in England and Canada so can make sure that both English and Canadian aka north American English speakers will understand what you are trying to convey.
Installed the app prior to a road trip to British Columbia. We found that it was very inaccurate . Driving through the mountain passes it was out by as much as 500 ft as compared to the road side altitude signs. Very disapointed.
seems to work well. trying to figure out how to get the elevation numbers to stay on my home screen without having app open and controlling my screen, I need to have a map app up and running more than the altimeter on.
Loved the app used it often until the last update which would not install. So I uninstalled it and now it will not install. Let me know when it's fixed. I cleared the apps catch, rebooted and still the update would not install. Message pop up could not install. Fresh install gets same message, downloading, installing , could not install.
I like the app very much. It is accurate. Easy to use. I use pressure reading for my altitude. Works great the reading is within a few feet of my photo app.
To be fair, I have not upgraded to the pro version, but this app works great for seeing how high you are, and the barometer is accurate for seeing inclement weather as it approaches.
Calibration didn't seem to work. I went to a water body of known elevation, turned off the pressure sensor (increasingly overcast day), set the elevation, then walk UP a little slope. Elevation now reads lower than the water body.
Not sure about how accurate this app is, but it works good enough for me. Plus it's just plain fun. It's sensitive enough to register a difference in height raising and lowering it while you sit still.....
a good performing accurate barometer ... unlike some others i have tried.
Works as advertised. To those complaining of differing elevations at each viewing, of course the elevation changes, especially since it gets data from satellites...as the satellites move, the preciseness changes. As far as coupling the app with barometric smart phones, unless you can adjust the altimeter reading on the device as the pressure changes, it'll always be inaccurate. That's why before every flight and during flight the pilot has to adjust his altimeter for changes in barometric pressure or the altimeter won't be accurate. I know this after being a military pilot for 18 years. This app can never be exact but then you won't find another one that is, either.
