Height above mean sea level (AMSL) is the elevation (on the ground) or altitude (in the air) of an object, relative to the average sea level datum. GPS elevation considers the entire Earth as an ellispoid. Differences up to 100 metres (328 feet) exist between this ellipsoid height and mean tidal height. The alternative is to use a geoid-based vertical datum such as the global EGM96 which is what this app does !

It seems to be incredibly accurate based on what I can tell but I only want to give this app 3 stars since it's Terms of Services and Privacy Policy is either blank or will not load. Also, when you try to opt out of your information being sold, you have to be specific on who you don't want to sell your information to. Now, I'm not sure if you need to be specific because of a law or the company who made this app decided so but it's still concerning that you can't just easily choose to opt out.
Great app. Seems quite accurate. I've done loose testing in fairly remote areas and the app has yet to let me down. It's pretty cool to know your elevation change while hiking, biking, driving. Some surprising results for property areas we've been checking out.
Assuming the numbers are accurate (& if I had a calibrated altimeter to compare I wouldn't need this, would I?) this does what it promises, easily displaying elevations to satisfy idle curiosity while touring.
So far, so good! Elevation and location is quick to respond.. Will explore to find out what else it can do, saves? Searches? Good for estimating elevation, location and practical use for tuning large Ham radio base antenna's for maximum preformance and range, of 'Skipping' radio frequency signals off the ionospheric conditions at given times of day or night! Works quite good and accurate , i am a pilot and use it to check terrestrial elevations on touristic travels and it's been accurate.Unfortunately my phone doesn't have a barometric sensor which i assume would give more precise readings.All around nice application worth to keep
Seems correct. I don't know if the readings are from sensors on my phone or GPS.

Gets results quickly and relatively accurately compared to another app. Works offline - even onboard an airplain. Very simple to use - just start it to see measurement result.
A simple, yet accurate and informative with a nice interface... It's good enough to be downloaded to my phone.. Enough said.. 😉
I wrote down the longitude, latitude and the altitude of several different places and went back and rechecked them and they all read within a couple of feet of what they did the last time. This is a great tool when used when racing your motorcycle in the mountains with much varying altitudes you can make a quick fuel air ratio change in a straight away and consistently win the races with full power while the competition grows quite weak as the elevation rises. This seems to be a very good app!!
As far as I can tell it is great. Works off-line but sometimes I have to close the app and open it again to reset the new location. But that's okay, considering I have no service at those times.
Pretty good app. The future looks bright if they continue to improve the UI & functionality. Great start.
I was at Clingmans Dome in the Smokies and it was only about 10 to 15 feet off from the official elevations (6,643 feet). I am happy with the accuracy of this app.
I like the choice of GPS or Borometer to measure the elevation.

I don't buy applications from people that won't show me what I get by paying extra. I've been a programmer for 40 years. I started with shareware - something you're not even familiar with. Shareware then became crippled where were the main features were turned off - something you are familiar with. Either show us a features and limit the number of times they may be used or you don't get my money. As it is you only need three satellites to get my location in five to get elevation. Get it right.
Seems to work good. Needed to get an altitude source for our Ford Explorer since the included navigation system doesn't show altitude and I use that feature constantly, or used to in past vehicles.
Clean and simple in doing what it is intended to do, without additional extra junky features too clutter - just what I wanted. (It'd be even better for me, if both feet & meter info was displayed together right there on main page, or at least having an easy-tap/toggle switch on right main page, instead of burried in Settings.)

Accurate and easy to read. Several cool features.
I was hesitant to even try it. But we hike in the mountains a lot so I was tempted and went ahead. Very pleased with it so far. And yes it is accurate. There is a brass placque at the peak with the altitude. Yes same as the app within 6 feet. Good enough for me. I rate it 5 stars.
There is accuracy and precision. The measurement gives one or two decimal places (precision). But the accuracy is plus/minus 11 feet at best, according to the display. Maybe sufficient for some uses but not for my needs.
Does exactly what it promises. No maps, just altitude, address and coordinates. Like that it shows the error range. I live very near the coast, and both my Garmin GPS and my phone apps always read 5-20 feet BELOW sea level when I'm safe on dry land - this app matches reality!
No ads is awesome !! Seems very accurate, L&A adjusts as you move around and checked good against my Garmin. I cant see the address at bottom but that might be my screen settings ? Keep the Simple, easy to read/use, & NO AD apps coming !!
The app seems to work (as do similar ones). I am concerned that the privacy policy says they will sell my location data...and the only way to "opt out" is to install a 2nd app, extract my Google Advertising I.D. number, then enter my Advertising I.D. number onto their form. (?) I plan to uninstall this app due to the difficulty of this privacy procedure.
