SERIOUS DESIGN FLAWS to this service. DC, MD & VA are connected by the metro & people cross state lines daily. Alto doesn't even cover the entirety of DC. The service area is a small part of DC then the rest of DC is an extended service area so it takes longer to get a ride & booking in the area is for members only. Service is nonexistent in MD & barely in VA. I can't book a ride from MD to DC but can go from DC to MD. Makes NO sense! Also there's business hours, no early or late rides on wkdays
I noticed an ALTO car from your fleet today and did some homework about the brand. Your product marketing and story is very compelling so I downloaded your app to review the experience. My only concern, and this is a probibitive concern, is that you are only accepting credit card as payment. You are a startup whose data privacy and security maturity level is unknown so I will not use your service until you begin to accept Paypal, an indirect payment service whose assurance level is acceptable.
This rating is entirely based on the user interface. I'm visually impaired and find that virtually all components are quit small and difficult to see. There's a small label that prompts you to input the pickup location into a relatively tiny field. There are very small icon on each side at the bottom and only a previous user would understand what these are for. My wife has worst vision than I, and though she might prefer a safer ride experience, it would be impossible to use this app.
I saw someone using this service as I was walking near downtown Houston. When I woke up and caught the bus for work the next day, I saw an ad on Instagram about it so i decided to download the app. Sometimes companies think that if you put credit card information early, it causes for an easy and smooth ride booking. But that's simply not the case. I would like to see the rates and figure out how to navigate through the app before I start putting my card information.
I can't read the text in the app? There is white text on a cream background how in the world am I supposed to see what it says? Is that a setting on my phone?
No way to see ride history or select which promotion to use if multiple are on the account. Cannot tip drivers in app and also not able to update profile photo (Pixel 3 Android 12)
Not in my area had we me through the entire sign up process and add my credit card and become a member for then to then tell me I am not in their area. Now I have to go and cancel the membership for the subscription service before I forget. Will stick with Lyft and Uber
Can't create account. The verification code doesn't work, and it won't send another one. This app is a joke. Deleting.
Downloaded, signed up and paid my monthly fee thinking that with employees and such I was paying a premium for a more reliable service. Booked a car for the first time, two days in advance for an airport trip. They no showed and we called and they have no idea why the car isn't on the way. Ordered a Lyft and it was here before Alto could even figure out what happened. Do not recommend.
Alto is the most comfortable and enjoyable ride hailing service I have ever used. I highly recommend them, and I will be using Alto exclusively from here on out. The cars are extremely clean. The drivers that I've had have been so great. It's very clear that Alto is providing an overall safer, cleaner, and better service then Uber and Lyft.
An indispensable alternative to other ride-hailing apps when in the Dallas area! The customer service and increased feeling of safety more than justify the affordable monthly membership. I definitely notice the difference when I travel outside the metroplex and have to rely on other means of transportation!
Easy to use app, prompt service, professional uninformed drivers, no suprises or creepy drivers like Uber and Lyft and I'm a platinum member with Uber. I will only use Alto when in Dallas, worth every penny. And the do not disturb option is a fantastic idea because some times when I have to work in the car I feel like I'm being rude to the driver, never a problem with Alto.
Wow, I downloaded this app, and I had a 100 promo card. I ended up deleting my account after 5 minutes. It was that difficult to use; what an astounding failure of an app. In 5 minutes, I was: -charged for a free trial -overcharged for a ride (14-17 $ for a rude that cost 7 on lyft) -it wouldn't allow me to add stops -IT WOULD LET ME USE THE $100 PROMO CARD (it said it was going to charge my card. At work,, we handed out these cards so people could get home safe on new years. Brings me shame
Very easy app to use. keeps you informed at ever step of your riding experience. I feel safe using Alto. Company owned cars are good and all the uniformed drivers are excellent. I don't miss my car at all, thanks to Alto
Dallas loves Alto! Alto has done such an amazing job at elevating a service that we're all familiar with. it takes ride share to a new level. Safer. Rider is more in control. And my favorite part, the driver is an actual employee!!! The app is simple to use and the support team is fast and friendly! We love the Alto crew!
This was a courtesy ride from my car dealership and so I got the app for the service convenience. After installing the apps and asking for very intrusive card information it quit working. I'm not warm and fuzzy with this app now eventhough my ride earlier the car was nice and clean and the driver is very good.
Awesome place just professional at all time. Houston is beautiful and I will be using driveAlto forever now.
Yes its true, Alto is a better, safer than Uber,or Lyft, But they are a lot more expenive. There app and web page both need to delited and start form scrach. Not user friendly at all. And as an employee if the rates are as high as they are becouse of the type of vehicle you chose, then maybe consider switching to a differant type of fleet vehicle. I don't even use ALTO i take Uber to and from work. So also consider something other than free membership for employee's. I enjoy working for Alto
Unauthorized chager when I set up account. You have to put in all your personal details, including credit card info, beforehand you get pricing info. Not worth it.
The worst, expensive, dirty and unprofessional service. No one is responding questions or complaints.
$61 to go 7 miles. Driver didn't follow all the rules. Drove way too slow (10mph under the speed limit)
Prices are 2x to 2.5x times Uber X. It's 30% less if you buy a $13/month membership. Still more expensive. If you use Uber Black a lot then comparable pricing. App worked fine for me but promptly Uninstalled. They should be more transparent with pricing before people waste their time. Will be a niche crowd who uses this... Will limit their growth. Not sure I want myself being cloud recorded by a VC backed company at 2 AM either. 🙄
Too much risk.. Before I can't even see what the app is about, they want too much information. Name, number, email, CREDIT CARD INFO?? Without even knowing if I want sign up for this?? Let people login to the app and browse around before asking for payment method. Let people earn your trust, I never heard of Alto, not willing to add my CC info just because.
The app keeps taking me to a start page asking for my phone number and treats me like I'm a first-time customer rather than a returning customer-- also, I would really appreciate if you had a web version of this that worked on a laptop or a desktop-- thank you
Just used this app to see what's up. The app works great on my Pixel 2 XL. Actually, I would say the app is beautiful and a great user design. All these one star reviews are from people who don't read. Come on people! Read before you sign up for a membership! Lol
**this review is solely based on the app experience!** I heard great things about this service and was excited to use it, but they only accept credit cards, not debit cards. I will never use this app as long as this is their rule.
Wow. Wanting me to be a subscribing "member" to use an uber/lyft alternative. No thank you. I don't rideshare enough to justify a monthly membership. Good luck.
I wouldnt mind checking the app out but requiring a credit card upfront without even seeing if cars are available and what the pricing is? No Thanks.
I work with a lot of riding chairs but this is fun the best they took everything from the other and condensing the one picture perfect app
Pretty decent app I enjoy my rides with luxury experience, prices are not bad at all, especially for the vehicle type size and room comfort. You may bring up to 5 friends with you maybe 6. Not to sure if they will let anyone sit in the front seat, maybe if the car is full they may have to make an exception. HAPPY RIDING😎🤑🤑🤑
