After a brief test, this App seems OK. Quite simple to use with a some customisation options. I don't know about battery drain or other problems because I uninstalled very quickly. It displays a calendar (month view) but I'm seeking an AOD display showing upcoming calendar events (ie not simply a month-to-view calendar). I'd need to buy PRO to even seen what other views exist. I'll have to seek elsewhere.
This app is great. It is easy to navigate through, runs smoothly and not complicated. I understand time and effort is put into this and you have to make a living how, but only 2 options for the clock? You're given the basic, plain digital clock to use, or the analog one that's not labeled. Everything else unlocks when you purchase the app. I understand. Only the option to have 2 is the problem.
If you're like me and can't stand to have a blank screen when your phone is off and want consistent access to your notifications, this is the app for you. I paid the little extra for even more features but the free version is still very good. If it weren't for this app, I'd never know when I have notifications unless I was next to it to hear every sound. And I love the double tap LG-like feature as well, and all the customization options. Job well done to the dev of this app, thank you 😊
I pretty much love the app it does exactly what it says. And it's pretty customizable the only downside i really found is that there only are 5 gesture options. And none of them i really like. For instance i would love to see a one tap gesture or a gesture off some kind that you can see your inlay of your in display fingerprint scanner and use that to open your phone immediately. But if that's there it's definitely a 5 star app.
Decent. Missing color choices, etc. in free version. Too much emphasis is placed on donations to unlock the so-called premium features. Several of the so-called premium features should be included in the free version -- similar to other competing AOD apps offered. in summary, it send to perform okay. But it is extremely basic with no options for the free version. Developer needs to include a few more options with the basic, version in order for me to change my rating from 3 stars to 5 stars.
I like this app but one thing that could make it great is if the notification icons on lock screen would appear in it's original color not what color I selected for the time. I did check this feature on and off and it made no difference. This would be helpful because I assigned colored icons to specific contacts for texting, this worked with other apps but not this one. It would be helpful to know who is texting me without having to unlock my phone and check. Please fix the bug so they can appear in it's original colors. Thanks.
Loved this app until the time started freezing every once in a while. I was in the middle of something important that had an end time & was thinking I had 20 more minutes when I was actually a minute over already because it got stuck on 7:38. 😩 There's also a bug or something that causes the screen to go all the way bright when you unlock it in the dark (ouch) 🔆💀 Other than that I love it for the customization & simplicity, just cant trust it with those 2 major things.
Certain features I want are locked behind Pro, and it's kind of frustrating that I can't disable it with the power button, and the fingerprint scanner can't be used while its active. I eventually gave up and just made it "raise to wake" or whenever I swipe my hand across the light sensor. Since my phone has it it's a decent compromise, but I'll probably be rooting my phone if I want the feature for real.
I bought the app because I thought it was a cool idea to be able to customize my screen. It does work, just not the best. Still needs a bit of tweaking. The problems I have, are that it wont let me unlock my phone using my finger or power button, it registers it and goes to a black screen then pops back up on the lock screen. Sometimes it will just freeze as well. It's in beta so bugs are to be expected. Im kind of glad i bought it so that when it is polished it will be worth the money...hopefully
I like that the app is smartly designed to move around enough to avoid burn-in (although I think it should move even more because some pixels remain lit even with the movement), but the one feature I would find useful and have only found in similar apps (within their analog clock features only) is SECONDS! I often need to do something for 30 seconds and opening an app takes more time than I have available for that particular task (so I've resumed wearing a cheap LCD wristwatch since a smart watch isn't practical in my line of work and would get destroyed quickly); having seconds displayed with the time would be so invaluable and I don't understand why this is SO ABSENT in Android and unavailable in the default lock screen. How many techies don't have tasks to do that are measured in seconds? I do constantly! PLEASE ADD THIS OPTION! It seems that this would be easy to do and so utterly useful!!!
I was looking for a clock to replace my bedside alarm. I was using a different app but it needed to be turned on manually every night. I fall asleep to YouTube videos and wanted something that would turn on automatically once the video was done. This app fit the bill. However, it is always on, even after setting it to only turn on during the overnight hours. Because of this, it chews through batteries and I have to charge my s9 during the day. Nice app but I'll likely go back to my old clock.
Using this on a Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus. This does exactly what I wanted it to do. I had to pay for the pro version to get the things I wanted, but the features and abilities of the app make it worth it. If you're worried about burn-in, there's a wave-to-wake option among others to help with that. I style my phone's UI like Samsung's, and the pro version ($1.99) lets me do that and support the young man that made this. Responsive, stylish, and functional. I'll be using this for a while!
The app works on my LG Stylo 4. However it took away the ability to wake the phone up with the fingerprint scanner. So now I have to choose on if I want the time and date to display or I want the functionality of waking my phone with the fingerprint scanner kind of disappointing. I wish I would have read a few more reviews before downloading and purchasing one of the $2 text options. If this app did not take away the fingerprint scanner from the Sleep screen I would gladly rate it 4 stars I could not give it a full 5 because there are microtransactions for the additional text options. I would much rather there be a flat rate for the app with all the options included.
It's better than the stock in that I can customize the brightness. Customization still needs some work and wish there were more clock faces. Somehow it doesn't cover certain widgets that hover unless you set it to turn on only on lock screen. There's a noticeable battery drain as much as 7% more per hour. Sometimes it can go up to 10%.
Could not display AOD custom image and despite having Android Pie the animation option was grayed out. Great concept but not as functional as hoped. Only 3 digital clock options but plenty of analog and an inordinate amount of odd fonts. Geared toward advanced users & not so user friendly as it could be. Please keep developing this though as I'm sure in time it will improve. Best of luck with this app to the developer.
I generally love the app but I'm not sure how long I'll keep using it since there are a few issues with it: I can't use the power button to turn on the screen & I can't instantly unlock the phone through fingerprint (instead I have to 'close' this app first). Also, it seems like the app drains the battery quite a bit too much.
Does not work well on the OnePlus 6T, as the power button can't be used to unlock with the face recognition, and the pocket mode turns on when you cover the camera(should be disabled when locked, but the phone thinks it's unlocked so enables this feature). Double tap to unlock also doesn't work very well. When you do manage to unlock it, it opens the settings if the Always on app. The beta testing on the 6T can be very helpful in developing this app further for the 6T, but this is a great start.
When AOD is set to only turn on while charging, and if the screen is already off and you begin charging, the app doesn't pick up the fact that the device is now charging therefore doesn't show the AOD. Reverse is also true. If you pick up the device from the charging dock while AOD is on, it doesn't know that the device is now on battery... maybe this is a limitation because I've tried a few apps and they all have this issue.
The app has been working fine for me 90% of the time. It does what it's supposed to do well. Only reason it is not getting 5* is because I seem to encounter an error where the time occasionally just stops updating and freezes on a specific time. This is only fixed by restarting the app completely.
In theory the best app of its kind, and it would seem the only one that displays in landscape mode. Except that it doesn't. Select preview and it shows a brief landscape shot, then twists it to portrait and then goes back to the app. After that, no landscape, no previews, no AOD. This after buying the app too. Uninstalled it and got my money back.
It certainly deserves more star ratings but for now I am rating it 3 because the app is a great start and quite helpful for people whose phones don't have Ambient Display, but it needs a bit more improvement. I use it as an Ambient Display and not the Always On way, so for me the Raise to Wake feature doesn't work quite well. It's always a hit or miss thing. Tried tweaking sensitivity but no help. When the device gets locked it takes a huge time to get activated. Double tap to wake doesn't work
I have to say that this always on display app is very good by far the best one out of all the others which I find are absolute rubbish ! BUT there is one very annoying thing about this app and that is when you power on the phone it can take a very long time for the always on display to actually kick in and show up it can also happen sometimes when coming out of apps and locking the phone if this was to be fixed I would give this app a 5 star rating all day long.
I literally just installed this app not 10 minutes ago and am already unhappy with it... I went ahead and paid to unlock the Pro features- which, if memory serves me correctly (which it usually does), included the removal of ads. However, even after tapping the restart app now prompt upon purchasing the upgrade, I've still got the same stupid ads at the bottom of my screen.
I bought this app to support the dev a while ago but the app didn't reach my expectations. I reinstalled it today to see if anything has changed and unfortunately the app is still horrible. Here are some reasons why: - Unlocking the device requires waking the screen before using fingerprint sensor. - Not sure what settings I changed, but one second the clock showed up upon locking the device, then the next, the clock wouldn't show up even though the S8 simulated home button showed up. - Settings are unintuitive and confusing - App requires way too many permissions (albeit somewhat necessary) - Dev does not care about its users/customers
I get that the app is handy for telling the time and stuff without turning on your phone, but if you have a LCD display I don't recommend getting this, just because the whole point of Always On Display is to disable some of the pixels to save battery, which isn't supported on a LCD display and could drain your batterya lot. But if you have an OLED display then it is fine, because it can turn off some of its pixels. Phones with OLED displays usually have this feature built-in.
Works as expected on a Oneplus 5T and a Oneplus 7 pro.. ambient display and move to wake not working but not a big issue to me since waking the device is just a swipe away.. it does seem to consume a significant amount of battery.. but with fast charging available i think that can be discounted. it would be nice to be able to set the interval of the movement of the widget to desire. personally would like them to move more often. and also move them over the whole screen instead of just small shifts (which I only seems to observed) overall .. since this is still in beta tag. i believe it'll improve. until my phone manufacture decides to implement a native AOD.. this makes a good alternative!
Excellent app for the missing feature on most stock Android. Quite close to OnePlus! Many customization options. Plus, how seamlessly it all works without lags or crashes. Although, there are a few bugs and improvements I want to point - 1. 'Pickup Wake' does not seem to wake the phone even after adjusting the sensitivity from lowest to maximum endpoints. I would appreciate if the Ambient display will only work when I pickup the phone. 2. Edge glow seems to disable the display altogether.
It drained half a battery overnight (just for a clock on minimum brightness), only for that reason it's not worth. It's a little buggy. Doesn't show notifications. Edge lighting is wired. I'm with side-mounted fingerprint scanner and the device unlocks when I press the power button (+ fingerprint), whit this app it unlocks on touch and I didn't find a way to change that. It's unpractical for me.
