Great emulator! Save states don't work in this version, but I'm hoping they will in the paid version. To solve the slow speed issue, go into the audio settings and set the audio sample size to the smallest one. Playing the original Chip's Challenge on my phone is a very satisfying experience.
Way too slow. I know Lynx is hard to do but I had a faster Lynx emu on my *200 MHz* Gamepark GP2X handheld years ago. With my phone being a 1.5 GHz dual core it should fly. The filter makes it look really out of focus too, could use more rendering options. Good start though.
It seems to carry most of the benefits of Handy, but a quick skimming of the comments turned up no mention of control pad issues. There were also no comments from other Galaxy S4 owners. I mention this because my iCade controller allows me to map the buttons successfully, but the games I've tried only recognize the onscreen controls. I did upgrade to Android 4.3 lately, so no idea if that's linked.
Very difficult to play on my galaxy note 4 due to the tiny on-screen controls. Whilst I can resize the screen can only seen to move the controls not resize them, would give a much higher rating if this problem could be fixed.
Got it up and running in minutes. Excellent. Reliving chips challenge. Just a small note I believe that Hasbro released the system rom into the public domain some time ago. May be worth looking into the possibility of including it in the install.
It's running like diarrhea on my nvidia shield. Trying to disable the on screen buttons is the only "game " I was able to play. It's free so I can't complain too much, but then again, it's really quite horrible..
Works great on xpira play took 2 secs to fix the screen problem. Dont get how other play users cant fix the screen stretch problem as it's so easy to fix
The games play fine, but the sound is very garbled even after trying the various sample rates. This would be a five star app otherwise.
Loved my Atari lynx back in the early 1990s :) this emulator is awesome :) very good implementation. Shame that it's hard to use the virtual buttons but I ain't moaning as I'm happy that an emulator of the Atari lynx exists for android :) keep up the good work
The bottom of the screen seems to be missing in landscape mode on Xperia Play, the filter option is greyed out so I can't adjust the image? Looking forward to a small update to fix this and buying the paid version. Excellent start.
I've never had issues with setting up emulators until I came across this piece of crap. It absolutely refused to read the bios. If there is some trick to it, the developer gives absolutely no directions on what it is.
I download the bios but it can't find them lame you should make a lynx emulator that runs without the bios needed.
Tried getting games and all available bios files are not able to open, therefore cannot be played.
Works but just not good enough to play games. Chips challenge and crystal mines just don't feel right. The sounds off and juddering. If my nexus 4 is too slow then God help other phones.
Until they fix issues with Android 7.X.X about setting rom and bios paths with micro SD card, this is the rating. Once fixed, back to 5 stars.
When in options you have to set the path to the BIOS image lynxboot.img, after downloading the BIOS and selecting the set path in the options it will not show any file extensions?? So you can not select it so there is no actual way to play any ROMs. Has anyone has the same issue? S3 and nexus 7
Works OK, but controls cannot reliably do diagonals this rendering every game unplayable. Real shame.
This is a very good emulator, I know that it doesn't have much competition as lynx emulators aren't in high demand. Deserves 5 stars easy.
Can't load the lynxboot.img. when trying to set it takes you back to the main menu. The app does not work
Crashes every time I try to set path for BIOS, can't do anything
Excuse me Rock88, I don't know how to install roms in the Alynx emulator.
Unless you're gonna program am emulator yourself. It hasn't been updated in 3 years, so it's definitely not perfect, but it'll do the job if you have a Bluetooth controller. But not touch screen. Buttons are WAY too small even at maximum size.
Fuc* i just realized i need an atari 7800 emulator. Not this
Great app but can't hide on screen buttons even after uncheck in options, still there.
The buttons are completely unpressable. What are the buttons for, ants? The thumbnails here show them as pretty big but in the actual game they're only 2mm wide.
Nostalgia at its finest. It's hard to complain either way.
I can't set the lynxboot.lnx anymore, the app force closes every time i hit the 'set' button
I think the 6502 emulation is a bit too sluggish to allow a decent frame rate on my Tegra3 Asus TF300T. Ideally needs a 6502 asm core then it will be great.
Audio skips a bit on my tablet, but not on my older, slower phone. Not sure why. Samsung Note 10.1 vs. HTC G2. Only tried with Chip's Challenge.
I would like to thank you to be the only ones to make an emulator for android so easy to use and free. But there is a big issue... even if the game emulation is good, the controls make it unplayable, which doesnt happen with gb emulators. If you only make the control buttons bigger and more separate from each other, it will be a perfect emulator.
