At first I was impressed with all the calculations that ART provides, but there is full page pop up adds in the free version, so I bought it to get rid of the pop-ups, the free version has these full page pop up adds that are absolutely annoying 😠😡 plus there are several of the calculators that are blocked preventing a true evaluation, not enough space to say everything I found rong with ART, but I will have to say, the coax calc is in not accurate, and it's not the only one. Not enough space.
This app is doch on features but a hassle to use if you live in an area where the imperial system is used. The app does not remember you preferred unit and you have to change each field individually. So if you have a calculation with 10 fields that give you length values, you have to change from meter to inch 10 times. Would be great if the app had general settings it would remember.
Very handy app to have for ham radio operators and general electric or electronics users. Good starting point and accuracy for any project a person wants to do, before the real world application. From building antennas to simple by-pass filters. You get an idea of what it's needed before you go buy what you want so you don't waste money. Greetings to the developer in the Netherlands.
Poor quality implementation. UI is poorly done. Visibility of main page is very poor. If you have a regular display, you may need glasses to read the contents in layout. Calculator UIs are poor. Many "features" are just graphic images, all of which start out so tiny that they are unusable. There are usually simple tables that are now reduced to poor quality pictures - not easily searched or read, and not usable in any other format. Geo/distance tools are not very usable. Not the app for me.
I tried it for 5 minutes and it is great! I bought the app within another 5 minutes, it works great on Chromebook. Wish you could expand the data window for old eyes..ha ha no biggie, you can see it very good on a 14 inch screen. Good job!
I installed it thinking that it would allow me to enter my own antenna design but it only has several very basic antenna designs built in. All are very simple math so a very basic app with a nice front end.
All tables are unreadable scans. Tiny texts instead of simply put them as text on screen. There is zoom for it but lack of text formatting put positive user experience in question
Gives great calculations for getting the best performance out of most any HF, UHF & VHF antenna configuration. It will also give functions for calculating resistance, impedance, swr, capacitance, about any tool a ham operator would need. If I could only find a way to plug a connection into my phone to analyze my antenna. Boy wouldn't that be something? This app can provide quite a bit of useful data for most ham operators.
I used this App the minute I downloaded. Very impressed and it takes a lot to impress this old Ham. I only wish for more information on vertical antennas like length of radials for certain frequencys, number of radials. Vertical antennas are only half the system, the radials are the other half. How about takeoff angles for verticals. Include all this and I will be a pro member for life.
Generally useful but needs a tuneup: 1) Antenna diagrams don't respond to pinch gestures so diagrams are too hard to read. 2) Long titles run off page and can't be scrolled. 3) Antennas show element lengths but not impedance or element diameters or effects of insulation. Samsung Galaxy S10
Good idea but poor implementation. Text and tables with codes are copied as images. Seriously? Is this app for mobile phone? Images of antennas are not zoomable, something is odd when editing the numbers, pethaps because there is no vertical scrolling....
Lots of little calculations which are available anywhere and everywhere on the Internet or in ham books. How a function is justified as "pro edition" I'm not really sure. If compendiums are your thing it's a nice little collection otherwise it's just about OK.
All the complaints are valid. Cannot rotate or zoom on a tablet (Samsung Tab 10.5). Developer has not addressed any of them. Only a newbie would find useful, every thing can be done online and better in many cases. Uninstalling. USA Ham Extra license.
It is refreshing to see this App and others . This reminds me why I studied for the hobby , the Bling radios now do all apart from make you a coffee , Swr , gone up ? they dont check the Antenna ist , they check a menu or flick a switch . This is great for people studying and who have passed the RAE , Ham Radio course /exam . Great work guys . G7WDH
Provides lots of good information and calculators, but the tables are in such tiny text they're almost unusable. There's got to be a better way.
Seems useful but there is one main issu every calculator i use on it the result shows up but the top half of the text gets cut off its most likely my phone it has a weird display ratio the display ratio on my phone isnt 16:9 its a Samsung Galaxy A10E i don't know the display ratio its a good phone but it has a weird display ratio
Qcodes screen is what looks like a jpeg. It's also got the back button draws over the top. Feels a little like you're paying for an entire toolkit with lots of different, special tools, when all you needed was some screwdrivers and a hammer.
Heaps of useful calculators and reference guides. All work the way they should, does have a few too many AD's in it, but the APP itself is rather good.
Excellent application. I don't buy very many apps at all. But this was an exception. I have bought maybe 4 apps my entire life, so that may give you some kind of inclination as to the quality of the content. Thanks and keep up the great work
A very handy little set of tools which saves me from having to remember a whole bunch of mathematical formulas... great for the fast construction of various antennas.
Seems to work ok for simple antenna designs, but beyond that it fails with the inputs for calculating a high pass LC filter, it only provides for rc or rl. other functions suffer similar limitations.
Heavy on the math, light on the basics; a good toolkit should have both.
if it wasn't for the ads that you keep getting popping up every 2 seconds it would be a very good app the only way way rid of the ads you have to pay for a premium app
Great for info. Data is formatted for PC. Requires much manipulation to be readable on smart phone. I'll use it, but Pro is a no.
This is a thoughtful collection of tools, however some of them are unfinished. You should be able to enter information on more lines of each formula, to work things backward. For instance, if I have a 28 foot long piece of wire, what frequency will it resonate if I make a loop out of it? The readability strength and tone section logo says readability tone and strength even though that's improper. There are some other little nuisances, but all in all this is a handy set of tools.
