Update: seems like the ads recently have really increased!I'm uninstalling. .........I enjoy this but sometimes it seems like the game is designed to force you to die so you have to either restart, watch an ad or spend your rubies. It can be frustrating. I sure wish there was a non-ad supported version that doesn't use all the standard mobile game tricks to try to make you lose or spend money. I'd spend money up front just to get a better gaming experience. Also the forced Facebok connection for leveling up the kg is a real problem.
I loved the Katamari games as a little girl so I just love this game. Honestly I would have given it 5☆s HOWEVER I have been having an issue, by the third time I "size up", the app starts to lag sporadically and frequently.. like a strobe light essentially and when that happens I end up unable to dodge obstacles and I always get pounded to the ground. This is becoming so frustrating that I'm starting to lose interest in the game.. even some of my friends have noticed it too. Also is there different levels? I would really enjoy mixing up the scenery from time to time like is the old playstation version!! But yea overall thanks for creating such a wonderful nostalgic game!!
It had a great concept, but it was ultimately ruined by the controls and Facebook integration. Controls: Please add another control scheme that fixes the jump controls. How about, though right to go right, left to go left, and both to jump. Facebook: I don't have a Facebook. But even if I did, I don't have any friends that play this, nor will I attempt to bug any of them into playing. Why should I get punished for that? Now I can't complete the king's challenge because of not having a Facebook. Remove that challenge
Good game and really fun. Runs like a typical runner-game, only Katamari and I love that. Unfortunately, you need Facebook connected to complete one of the quests. And even though I HAVE my facebook connected, it keeps saying I have 0 friends. (Even though I KNOW I have 3 because when I first connected it, or when i disconnect and reconnect, it shows 3 friends. but as soon as I play a game, it goes back to showing NO friends). They really need to fix this!
Runs very poorly. Katamari was always a bit of a magic trick on the ps2, and all of the little details managed to work together. This is a cluttered, stuttering mess. If we're just going to do an endless runner, there's no real point to all the different stuff except making it look like a katamari. This just isn't an interesting use of the property.
A lot of lag makes the game incredibly difficult to play, the control isnt always accurate so I end up jumping when I don't want to and ads are mostly 30 seconds long. The graphics and music are great however and the long run concept as a katamari game is clever. FYI it is not on three rails like some runners so the skill level is quite high. I imagine I'll get frustrated with this game pretty quickly.
I got really excited to play this because I've loved their other game. Only to find its nothing like the original. Maybe if you get far enough it is, but it is way too aggravating to even attempt. In the older one it was so much more fun because you got to explore, interact, adventure, etc and it wasn't so easy to "die" or go off course or anything. It was fun and hilarious, while this is more of a colorful, aggressive temple run. Not to mention it whips you around the menu and it doesn't really make sense? But, maybe I'm just too biased.
I really love this game, it reminds me of when I was younger and would just roll up the world! I feel like the game should come with like a built in Facebook friend, since no one i know plays this, so I'm stuck on a mission also it won't connect to my Facebook. I also think it'd be cool to send more than one rocket at a time! the coins could be more than just upgrading the cousins it could be like a certain amount to start out somewhere else (idk how that'd work though lol) or for the a multible rockets idea, but yeah I love this game 😺
Great game at first, but then once you get fujio, who seems entirely optional, then becomes a part of completing one of the missions, which kinda turned me off. More levels would be nice, and another song besides the one that always plays when you start playing. Not even gonna complain about ads cuz how else is a free game gonna get their revenue.
One of the most important factors when criticising this game will have to be the controls. Games can be challenging but fun if the player feels did they have proper control over their character. Don't waste your time downloading this, the bright vibrant visuals cannot mask how terrible and awful it feels to play this game.
This game is barely like the Katamari console at all, except that you have a ball that you roll to pick stuff up. But instead of freely rolling around the world like in the console game, you are forced to roll through the game in a single lane, constantly moving forward like Temple Run. Also, the bigger your ball gets the faster it goes, which makes this game frustrating and stressful to play instead of fun. If you like temple run style games you would probably like it, but it's just not for me.
Very disappointed.. I was hoping this would be more like the normal game, with free will to go where you want. Instead it's just another running game, except with a Katamari twist.. I wasn't expecting a storyline or anything, but this would be so much better if you had a whole room to explore instead of running in a straight line over and over...
Another pay to win model. Fun if you're just looking to play for a min or 2. Annoying if you're trying to actually make progress. Huge frame drops at times make controls unresponsive causing instant failure. Hitting anything can throw you across the road into a black hole making it almost entirely luck when paired with the previous issue.
disappointed!! I loved playing But If there is a bug that prevents us from passing a level then there is no point in playing!! can't complete the fujio missions! I know it's only a game but if you invest a lot of time in something and then realize you can't complete it, you can get angry!
The primary mission will eventually require you to use a "cousin" that only appears if you connect your Facebook account. Seems like you also need friends who have connected their accounts. Because I don't use Facebook, I'm now unable to progress as there is no alternative, and no way to opt out. Shame, was a lot of fun while it lasted.
I really WANT to love this game. I've played on ps2 and ps4. However, the fujio mission--even after soliciting friends in the Facebook community--is preventing me from continuing on in the game. Regardless of how many times I disconnect and reconnect Facebook through the game, it doesn't recognize that I have any connected friends--and I have at least two. I've also read that you can't advance beyond the 25m mission. Please update!
Takes the original game and makes it basically a Temple Run style game. The game takes way too much rubies and you have to keep paying for those. you don't get many in game upgrades without purchasing basically to win the game. The continues cost way too much. Just takes the original and just makes it a money grab kind of game.
There is only one level in this game and all you do is keep going straight in one direction repeating the level over and over. There is no free roaming like the console games. It quickly becomes repetitive and completely lacks the ingenuity and charm of the original games. This app is also plagued by constant ads which you can't skip. Just another cash-grab mobile game based off of a beloved game series. My advise: go play Katamari Forever on PS3 or Katamari Damacy on PS2/Reroll on the Switch.
Fun but buggy. My "fujio" won't show up even though the game says I have 2 friends connected. Because of this I can't complete any more missions and the game has become completely pointless. Developers need to fix the Facebook-Fujio connection or include a way to skip the King's missions. Before this bug the game was very fun but now I am just frustrated.
Absolute waste of your time, requires a facebook account with friends to get past a certain rank, map progression is purely linked to size but unlike the actual game theres no clarification of such. Endgame consists of them punishing you for growing too big, but not allowing you to be big enough by locking early game items that help to do that behind a shallow unexplained constellation system. A shallow attempt at a cash grab with no respect to the original, splash ad before main menu every time.
I really liked the original game, and i appreciate the app version bc its challenging...but the one reason i played the original is bc it was relaxing. Therefore, i would like to see a challenge mode but also a relax mode where you just enjoy growing as big as you can visiting the worlds or whatever. A lot can be done w the game concept.
Terrible controls are imprecise and unempowering. It really makes me sad that anybody could think this level of advertisements interrupting gameplay should ever be ok. It's absurdly overbearing and completely destroys what little environment the game was briefly able to conjure up. Not worth the data it took to download.
Game is great I love the series but I have discovered a glitch that I know you can fix: when you pick up Marny and shrink, if you do that right when you roll into one of the black holes and revive, the prince will remain shrunk for the remainder of the run. Oh I forgot to mention that this persists for every single run unless you close the game
I mean, it's Katamari on a basic level. But I much prefer the timer over the needing to avoid things like in this version. Especially because the joystick doesn't always work and you end up hitting things when you're trying to move. Overall not nearly as good as the original.
Game is fun and enjoyable both for nostalgic reasons and the slight addictiveness from trying to hit a new high score. However the game is riddled with bugs. The 2 I have encountered in the 1 day playing this is first, starting a round and having the character lose the ball and just in emptiness (presumably) under the stage where you have to exit using the home button. The second was in the stage with the buildings, monsters, and flying robot. Halfway or so through the stage, I hit a building (with Macho cousin power) and the game crashed. Was absolutely upsetting because it was a pretty good run prior.
