Would not connect to my ws-2602a. Did not have a scan button. My ws2606a has connected to WiFi but this app never sees it. Followed the manual instructions many times. Simply does not work. There is a dodgy chinese version of this app that works considerably better but it still doesn't connect. (ws tool). Apparently my firmware needs upgrading but I can't talk to the device.
Never could get my weather station to connect using this app on Android. However, it works fine on Apple products. Fortunately, I was able to load it onto my iPad and connect the weather station that way. Once the connection was done, the weather station shows up on the Android app and you can use the Android app to set the remainder of the passwords (for Weather Underground, for example).
I've been dealing with the WiFi connectivity issue off and on but lately when I switched to android phone OS I can't connect the app to the Ambient Wifi panel at all. I re-checked all the steps listed in the factory manual making sure I'm limiting to signal beam to 2.5 GhZ but no luck. When the wireless icon is flashing there's no signal send out to the network gateway it's just like the device's completely undetectable. I used Linux machines and Windows to search for the signal even Wireshark but no arp, no ip , nothing. The only WiFi connection I can see's between the outdoor unit and the WiFi panel. That's it. I'm very disappointed with the WS-2902 station. Even though the price was pretty reasonable but I wIll not recommend this setup to anybody.
Switched Verizon Jetpacks from 791 to 8800. Ambient 2902 would not connect. Fought it for 15 days using both apple and Android OS. No joy. Support useless - did not even engage, just said the 2902 doesn't work with "hotspots". Well, yes, it does. Worked with the 791 and is now working with the mifi 8800. Changed the channel for the 2.4 Gh band from auto and selected each channel separately while trying to connect. Didn't take long - connected on channel 2. Working fine now.
I never could get my 2902 weather station to connect to wifi using this app using a chromebook. I have a cisco dual router, and I did disable the 5G. When I ran this app, it would always time out. I tried a bunch of settings on the router and chromebook, nothing worked. I tried incorrect passwords for the router, it just would time out, which means the devices never "saw" each other. So I got my son's ipad, doownloaded the eqivalent app from apple, disable the 5G and boom, the console connected.
Does not work on current version of Android, on a Galaxy S10. If you try it, you'll see
This app will not connect to ws-2902a. The problem is not the app, but the manual that comes with the Osprey ws-2902a. The app to connect the 2902a is AWNET. I had to do a bit of research to find this out. This app works with ws-2902 but not 2902a. If Ambient Weather had put this information in the manual, it would have saved me a lot of time and frustration.
The app automatially freezes when want to see anything...wind, temps, cameras, your dashboard...everything. The creator of this app needs to fix a lot of stuff. Weather Underground was mangeled by IBM, but at least it still works.
you have to have this app downloaded to be able to stream your data from your ambient osprey weather system to the internet after that you can uninstall this app and your information will still be available on ambient weather website for up to a year. It gott my ambient osprey working from the weather module to the internet 20 thumbs up for ambient formatting of the data collected from the osprey to their website it's beautiful streamless. Now Weather underground on the other hand wow that's nothing but a cluster Fu*ck, there's so much information on that website it's ridiculous but I guess it's good if you really like the weather you got a simple website and you got a more complex website, the one upset about Weather underground is that they log your data forever so I'm happy very happy at the both of them
Followed the directions and does not connect. Please update/fix this app. Using WS2902, Motorola Android 9 phone, Nighthawk C7000v2 5g disabled and verified connectivity using other devices. Update... Thank you for the response and failed remedy; however, there is still no connection. After reviewing other complaints I share this same exact issue with many. Why aren't you reading the complaints?
Tried with 3 different Android devices and none would configure an Osprey WS-2902A with this App. Note my Wifi Router is 2.4 GHz only and one of the tried Android devices has no mobile data connection. In the end used the AWNET app instead of this app to get the configuration done
App is very unclear / magical about its operation, keeps crashing when it should be connecting to wifi. Why can't the console just pop a wifi node so I can enter what settings to use, why has it got to do some complex dance?
Doesn't work with Android 9. I upgraded routers and tried to reconnect, no luck. Went back to the old router and now the ws-2902 won't even connect there.
It wont connect and just sends me in a circle of dysfunction. There aren't any troubleshooting tools or options available to assist with problems.
The model WS-2901A doesn't connect to Wifi OSPREY function at all and I didn't receive any response from support. The worst purchase of the year!
Does not work on Android, turned off 5ghz, turned off mesh, connection keeps timing out. Tried samsung note 8 and 10
This application cannot detect the SSID being used by your phone under Android 9 -- basically if you have a modern phone then this will not work for you

disaster on Android Pie. not working with latest Android devices. Gladly i had an old Note 4 lying around to get it to work.
The graph section of this app does not show additional sensors. I have 3 addon sensors and none are displayed.
Will not connect to my wifi once it connects to the 2902a. garbage. support is a joke since I have 5 times in the last 3 days and no one available and have left messages.
I have to give this app only one star so far.I have been trying for three days to get my Ambient WS-2902A Wi-Fi Osprey to work with Ambient Weather or Weather Underground.
Do not use this app. It does not work. After a week I gave up trying to connect my PWS to the net. Use AWNET instead.

App refuses to connect to ws-2902 in over a year. Guessing this is intentional. Android 9

This app doesn't work if you have an Android device running Q (Android 10). You'll need to use the AWnet tool. However...if you're prompted to upgrade the firmware on your console...DO NOT DO IT...it doesn't work. You'll be able to connect the console to WiFi but, it won't stay connected more than 30-45 seconds. I appreciate the console and am glad it still works. I miss the internet connectivity but, I guess for the time being, I'll live without.
