The app use to work great. Now it impossible to buy tickets without it timing out. AMC has been contacted and nothing changes. They never have a problem taking my monthly membership fee though. Reading other reviews I am disappointed thus issue hasn't been corrected. I'm going on 2 months with this issue. Thinking of canceling my subscription since its causing more frustration than happiness. AMC why don't you have real live customer support?
Love the movies and the process for reserving your seats is fairly straightforward. The one thing that is quite annoying is not being able to reserve tickets through the app because of a potential lack of efficiency, an error code keeps popping up on the most important feature of the app, which is reserving some tickets haha. Almost a great app.
Apr update: app seems a bit more stable, but why did you switch from a calendar to a list of dates??? 2022 update: Still good for getting tickets, but a few issues now. 1) They took away the feature to watch the trailers that played at your movie :(. That was really cool, especially when you go to a smaller film that has trailers for movies you might not have heard about and won't remember the names of later. I'm sad 2) The seating maps are not quite accurate for the smaller theaters.
Don't like the updated version. Way too big. It takes forever to scroll through the movies and times and harder to compare what's available. They should have just enabled it to become larger if you needed it; like you can when selecting a seat. And I preferred selecting a date by calendar than a scroll down list. Wish I could change back to the earlier version.
This app used to be great. But for the last few months, when clicking on the theater address, it will no longer connect to Google maps. It returns with a message stating Google maps is either disabled or not installed. However, I can click on an address on other apps, which will take me to that address in Google maps to navigate. And if I check multiple movies, the app will close unexpectedly. Granted, it opens right back up but it's a bit tedious.
The app is a little slow, but gets the job done. Sometimes when you try to make a reservation for a big movie coming out, you are unable to make the reservation and you keep getting error messages. Some cool features include being able to pre-order fod and order food from your seat. A list stubs membership is also definitely worth it if you see movies often.
Benefits are fine but this app is super poorly designed and confusing to use. Even after a few months using it I still feel lost during the checkout process and constantly get frustrated trying to figure out basic things. I just never have an easy time using it, there's always a usability roadblock. And this is coming from a millennial who studied UX in college. It's honestly one of the main reasons I'm switching back to a Regal subscription.
I'm not sure if the app has to do with it, but when trying to connect to the WiFi at the theater, I have ZERO success. After asking for my email and password, the screen refreshes, requiring me to enter it all over again. However, it just refreshes AGAIN. Since the movie tickets are digital and accessed through the app, it makes it very inconvenient if the theater has no signal through my network, nor any WiFi connectivity. I need to take a screenshot of the ticket, but don't always remember.
Been an A List member for 3 years now and the app has consistently been fine and functional. The most recent update changed the date selection to a simple list rather than a calendar which is much worse. Secondly, you can only see the most recent 10 movies you've seen in a particular time period rather than everything that year and that really bothers me. Third, they removed the restroom break suggestion placements which were great for long movies. Undo these changes.
It's a good straightforward app. easy to use. I like the option of being able to order your concessions from the app and have it delivered to your seat. I just dont use it. I wish the app had a feature where it asks you if youd like to use your points during the checkout process. instead of having to preload your points in $5 increments. Thats really my biggest complaint, not enough to lose a star over.
While better than it has been, I still find the app very buggy. Choosing seats is fine, adding concessions is fine. Something always happens for me at payment. Today my gift card wouldn't show in my wallet. Then, all of a sudden after 10 minutes of placing and cancelling the order, the balance showed available (though the gift card never did!) and then a processing error occurred. What was supposed to be a quick transaction took about 20 minutes.
The app needs an overhaul. It's been glitchy for a few years even with updates. Try fixing the issues that customers complain about the most FIRST!!! The movie history is NEVER right. My Points sometimes disappear without an explanation. Other times I can't even login...it acts as if My username and password are wrong. They are saved in Google and correct!!! Lastly, The theater's near me or further away.... DON'T have reclining seats. Not worth the money IMO anymore. Just my honest opinion.👂🏽
We love that we can reserve seats so easily in the app. Even better with AMC A List!! We can see 3 movies a week for just over $20 a month. We've even booked 3 tickets for one day before. The app makes it so easy to figure out the sequence to book the tickets, because the length of the movie is right there. We just walk out of one movie, and right into another. It's great!! And another thing really good about pre booking tickets so easily, is getting great seats right when they go on sale...
...I've had this app for some 2 or 3 years. I decided to get the membership and it's been great. Up until the other day when I updated the app.. "says can't authenticate".Idk, but I bought a new phone, all my apps are flying..but AMC. I think I may cancel membership. But...I'm Uninstalling it. Let me know when you can fix this bug. Thanks
AMC A-LIST is the greatest thing to happen to movies since IMAX. If you see one film a month this subscription basically pays for itself. Movies I would never have taken a chance on ended up being some of the best ones I've seen such as the recent Everything Everywhere All At Once. Sure the app isn't perfect but in my humble opinion the service is.
The app works good so far and it hasn't let me down. Lately I have been getting ads of other offers when I book my tickets now. I have had this app for 2 years and never had any ads pop up until the date of this review. It's super annoying to click thru the ads to get to the confirmation screen after buying tickets.
Haven't used the app in 2 years. It wasn't great then but it at least functioned for movie times. Recently started trying to use it and it wouldn't load properly, so I checked for an app update. Now that I've updated, it says there's a problem with my wifi (there isn't, I'm full connection) and won't load movies or times!
Always crashes when I click to open any notification. Bad experience overall with the app, needs much much more work to be done. No significant changes i have seen in the recent updates, i have been using for almost a year in few months 2022 updates App has improved significantly, but it still crashes sometimes. Hope it gets addressed soon
Really buggy. I get notifications that take me out of the app to the website and I get discounts in my inbox that never work. Oftentimes when picking a seat it just errors. I've only tried to order food ahead once and when I got there it wasn't ready and I almost missed the first part of my movie because I couldn't get anybody to help me figure out where my order was. Definitely never ordering food ahead again because you just never know who's going to be preparing it.
Pretty good app! I love that Google Pay was finally added as a payment option! Would be cool if the movie end time was included, however, rather than how long the movie lasts. A movie theater company does this in Korea & it makes planning that much easier if you can see the actual, precise end time rather than doing math or estimating. Just an idea for consideration.
while moving from movie ticket to amc rewards card is a bit clunky. the app works well and finding your theater and showtimes are easy. it can sometimes be disappointing to select a movie at home screen only to realize it's not showing at a theater nearby. having this tailored to you favorite theaters available roster of movies would be great! otherwise it has been very reliable for me for the last 3 years.
The app works with no issues when purchasing tickets. However, ordering food is horrible. It crashes, stops responding every time I try to order food prior to my selected movie time. I have no problems with viewing my acct info, rewards, activating rewards; it's just the food ordering that causes me such a headache.
App is great! Although I just updated it for their April update. Fine with everything except for the new "date selection" tool. Like some other reviews said - can we go back to the calendar? It is much more effective and intuitive. Scrolling through dates is a poor quality of life update, as in - a bad decision, in my opinion.
PLEASE be sure to screenshot your ticket. Although I purchased as guest via website, it's been hours and I haven't received my email. Account creation afterwards via the app doesn't show your ticket like some other apps - even if you use the same email address. Also, customer service is kinda non-existent. Giving two stars because platform navigation was fairly easy.
It would be cool if it actually worked. The layout is nice and all the different features for pre-ordering would be really convenient, but it won't let me check out. When I try to add tickets and hit the next button, it just gives me a loading circle and won't move forward. It seemed like a good idea but never mind I guess 🤷♀️
