Good basic app The videos are too small. I assume this is too preserve storage space. Compass and speed work well. References useful. Using on Galaxy S9+ and tablet.
useless. i got this for features in the pictures. but when i click on references i only get definitions. the app is amazingly slow to respond and poorly made.
I use to like this app; however, the Compass and Bearing are no longer working. I've even uninstalled and reinstalled to see if that would fix the issue, it didn't.
What's the point of this app if I can't view and manage my membership as well as have a digital logbook that includes my certifications?
Got my bareboat cat lic. With them very knowledgeable.
I already know the ASA online site, and really love the idea of this app, but as someone else mentioned; the app does NOT work well on smaller android phones, which is a big disappointment. Coordinates appear to work well, but there is no way to zoom in or out while trying to look up anything else. Not everyone wants a giant screen! Please, please fix this. Phone: Motorola DROID. Thanks
I'd give this four stars, but they didn't bother to include a way to export your log, so there's no way to collect all of your log entries in one external file or get them off of your device.
The online functionality is very limited because the app frames the website using a browser thst doesn't support JavaScript. And, there's no way to default to a browser like Chrome, that does. Good effort, needs work.
Doesn't work on a smaller screen. I'm using an LG optimus dynamic, please fix this. I love it except that it doesn't fit in the screen!
ASA app doesn't work for my Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 but some features work OK. Latitude and longitude don't show minutes but fraction of a hour.
2. Should have a place for ASA Certs to be listed.
Doesn't know I have a large phone. Nothing scales. Videos are tiny.
Comes on with tiny video screen about 1 eighth of screen. Useless.
Reference section is now working for me. Thanks - looks great.
Site doesn't seem to include Horizon's St Martin sailing school. Have to assume ASA does not keep current with site
Limited but nice
I'm am so pleased that you finally created an Android application. I find it difficult to understand why it would take so long when the certification process for Android is so much less tedious. The compass and speed indicators seen to work well on my Droid Razr. I can see this being a useful tool on the water. The logbook is a great tool. But there is one major problem. Why doesn't this app allow you to sign on to your ASA user account online? Why doesn't the log sync with your entries online?
None of the references work. Very limited usefulness in this first release for Android. I'm hoping for improvements in subsequent versions. Come on ASA!
Everything loads but the videos, other than that awesome. Glad its here.
The reference section can't open the file:/// urls.
Non intuitive. Clumsy interface. Some good features but needs focus group walk through.
It's a nice idea but little in it that I found useful. Many of these functions I have in other apps with better execution. I also agree that there needs to be a way to connect with my existing ASA account. If I have been using my website logbook why should I have to re-enter that data from scratch in the android app? I would not recommend the purchase to my friends.
Should have a member login so the logbook syncs with the member account on website.
Useful for most of what I expected. One huge pain point though. I logged my trip activity for two weeks directly in the app....one of the 4 major sections in the app. Upgrading phone, I have discovered that my entries do NOT transfer to the ASA Site nor my new phone! Please either fix this, or just shut it off in the app, so that there is a single place to log activity. PLEASE eliminate the confusion
