AmpliFi Teleport

Use the AmpliFi Teleport app and feel secure knowing you can still connect to your home. Watch your local programs and content from anywhere in the world using an internet connection. AmpliFi Teleport allows you easy access while you are away from the most important place – your home. Similar to a traditional VPN connection but without the configuration hassle, monthly fees, and unreliability. It’s simple: connect to your AmpliFi Router at home, generate a code using the AmpliFi Wi-Fi app, and use that code with the AmpliFi Teleport app. Your friends can even securely access your internet IP using an internet connection. Take your Android device wherever you go and it will feel like home. Android TV is supported on Android devices.

wish they had a widget or tile to enable/disable the VPN without having to launch the app every time. an auto start would be nice as well. it's missing functionality most von apps have but it works pretty well other than that.

Works as described. Set it up in a few minutes and got started. The only problem I have is that the instructions aren't as clear as they could be. Only took a few minutes of tinkering to realize that I didn't have to keep making new codes every few hours -- the code expired but the connection was still usable. The biggest improvement that this app needs is a widget to turn the VPN on/off. Then, it'll be 5 stars for certain.

This app is exactly as described in the AmpliFi app. It works great and am very proud of it. As a Chromebook user, it works well when I travel so I can use my NAS drive no matter how far away I am. I've always been impressed with Ubiquiti products and hope that they keep up the good work. However, the app still needs to have support for Windows and Mac and iPad. After this, the app will be perfect!

Did not initially work. Uninstalled, reboot, still blocks all mobile phone data. Temp solution: Samsung Galaxy s10+, if you press airplane mode, wait, then turn airplane mode off, all while it blocks mobile data and trying to connect VPN, it connects and solves issue. Works GREAT now. Also, Ubiquity support is super helpful, responds, and even after chat support, help desk reached out and forwarded info to engineers.

it works for awhile but keeps dropping and I have to reconnect frequently....

The app is very minimal, yet still somehow buggy. It often disconnects itself, and there is no auto reconnect feature. Because of this it works really poorly on mobile data. I do wish that the Ubiquiti Alien devices could just support WireGuard or OpenVPN, then there would be no need for these half-baked apps, and it could be used on any platform (currently there's no Windows, Linux or MacOS support for Teleport). I ended up using a R Pi, Pritunl and a DO droplet to properly VPN into my home

Needs a better Android TV interface. Hard to tell which button has focus. It is too easy to hit the wrong button on the remote that causes to VPN to disconnect and erase the config. This causes it to ask for another pairing code. I am using chromecast with Google TV.

Works well but could do with a few more configuration options. I miss a function to allow local (W)LAN traffic so you can stream to a Chromecast whilst using the VPN. Also takes a long time to connect. Other than that, awesome work Amplifi!

I have been trying to link this up all day and nothing. My regular app won't even connect remotely to allow me to see the status of my wifi. It worked before but the newest update today and the introduction of teleport has made the app useless while I am away from home. THIS APP DOES NOT DO WHAT IT CLAIMS AND IT DOESN'T WORK. if you can avoid the updatE PLEASE DO.

great application but was a little hard to get teller porting working but once you get it up and running it's very awesome because you can use your home network from anywhere but you should have unlimited cell service to have this work well I thought having this that I could download my cellphone service and pay less to save some money but that was not the case

Found the code in the AmpliFi app, click on left-hand three line icon to reveal setting features, and it is right there. It accepted my code and seems ready to go. Tested from my place of employment and it works flawlessly, circumventing their firewall effortlessly. Love it. 5 stars.

This is pretty awesome but usually whenever I do a speed test on the VPN my speeds are pretty low. Much lower than what I know I'm getting on the remote network. Is there a way to setup any kind of QoS or data rates to make the speeds better? Anything I'm the Amplifi router?

App needs work.... Takes about a minute to connect to my home, meanwhile my openvpn client takes 1-2 seconds. However, speeds are actually nice.... I currently have fiber 1000/1000 speed and testing over tmobile produces the following results: no vpn LTE: 110/50 and using teleport vpn over LTE: 59/50.... Pretty good considering its a vpn tunnel and it uses cpu resources for encryption and decryption. Phone used for testing, one plus 6t (tmobile version).

A great feature to have. If you don't have another VPN and want access to your home network this is a great option. Free, and it works well.

Fairly useless if my phone is the only device that can VPN into my local network. I would like to be able to have my phone act as a hotspot that is also part of my local network so my other devices can take advantage.

Update: Not buying another junky amplifi router just for VPN usage. Who wants to lug around an extra router that has to be plugged in a wall outlet? Keep the fails up Ubiquiti. Plus, your gamer edition maxes at 150Mbps on 400Mbps network; even though you falsely claim higher. A cheap ISP router worked better. Old: App works "okay". Needs a ton of improvement. Ridiculous that Ubiquiti has not made a Windows version. Don't "waste" money on Ubiquiti products. They're never worth it.

Can't get local ip. Seems like a very basic function that isn't supported. # Update: it turns out it is supported and you can enable local IP access for VPN connected devices via the Amplifi app.

Teleport does not support running Silicondust HD HomeRun app outside of home. This was primary reason for purchase and it's an EPIC FAILURE. HD HomeRun launched will inform user you are "not on a local wifi network". I am contemplating returning AmpliFi Alien router.

Chr. L. Aug 22, 2019

It's good for securing my connection through my home router, but I am unable to connect to devices on the local network at home like it claims.

Keeps disconnecting, either after 1 second connected or won't connect. Forwarded the port, that didn't help either

Aar. S. Aug 6, 2021

Rarely seems to want to connect anymore, and a long time with no updates to fix it.

Tom. B. Aug 16, 2019

I have enabled remote access, closed and reopened the Amplifi app. No option to "generate code". Have done this three times!

Dav. G. Jun 4, 2021

For such a great pedigree it's full of bugs and just won't stay connected. I've just uninstalled and reinstall yet again..

Rob. Q. Mar 26, 2022

Not great so far teleport keeps disconnecting all the time can you fix please

Kri. C. Aug 15, 2019

no idea how to generate the necessary code. ally apps and devices are up to date but there's no option for creating a VPN code.

Mab. I. Dec 25, 2019

Latest Update of December 18, 2019, can't connect to Home Amplifi HD using any ISP in the Philippines.

Ste. B. Jan 15, 2020

Good but reconnection is not robust enough. Would be nice if it would stay on persistently.
