AmpliFi WiFi

Terrible app and product. I have two mesh points Model AFi-R setup. Android app will find them but impossible to connect to them. Constantly getting screen message "Please wait...Looking for AFi-R-HD xxxxxx". Both are setup as mesh points as I can not get either one to to by recognized by my ISP modem. I have performed numerous factory reset and uninstalled and reinstalled app. Online help is non-existent. Worst product I give up!

Decent product, decent mesh system (A-HD) Dont like the app only feature as much as i could. Dont appreciate that there are different settings and options from the app to the browser backend. the browser backend should also be available from the app, not easy to configure the mesh points unless using a browser. Mesh points cannot be reconfigured after they are reset independent from the router until a full reset of system.

Having great difficulty viewing the page showing devices after a few days from install. Running the app on an S22 Ultra. The app functions well, otherwise. I have two Aliens using Ethernet backhaul running the latest firmware. Thanks!

Useless App, give dark mode at least. Not sure why this turd router needs an app besides being cutesy. If I didn't get this alien garbage for free I would've been super pissed. No functionality whatsoever but oh hey it has a cute display on it. What a hunk of junk. The hardware and the app.

Very nice app for controlling their Amplify HD Router (and mesh points). On the negative side, in Bridge mode, it shows a message on the first page saying "Some issues detected - diagnose." Tapping the red "diagnose," takes me to a page showing all my connection information (which have the correct ipv4 and ipv6 addresses). Yet, there's red text under "DNS Address" and "Internet Connection" saying "Please Verify IPv6 Configuration." I reported this to them over a year ago and they've done nothing. Also, in regular, automatic, mode, you can't specify the use of a different DNS server. People have been asking for that for about 3 years now.

Devices tab not working on Google Pixel 6 Pro, waiting in next update for fixes. Update 1/27/2022: devices tab still non-functional despite app refresh. Update 2/14/2022: received an initial response similar to the one on here from amplifi level 3 support. Devices tab displays spinning blue circle that never resolves after hours of waiting. Sent in screenshots and specs. Update 4/2/2022: devices tab still not working after factory reset of router.

On the latest update the remote management feature is broken. Facebook is reporting the app is in development mode, unable to login. Ok so I log into another account instead and Amplifi says that in order to use this account for RM instead I need to FACTORY RESET the router... Not happening. Fix this please ASAP.

I would love for there to be an option to automatically reboot these routers every day at a time of our choosing... Please add that as a feature if possible... - Amplifi Alien user

AmpliFi, the hardware, the app, and the whole experience is top tier. The champion of power-user oriented enterprise networking has knocked it out of the park for the home user who just wants things to work. I occasionally get "an error occurred" instead of a more elegant way of handling the disconnection and refresh when applying changes, but a simple reload brings things back.

This system is awesome! Super high speed, quick, easy setup. Great coverage and worth every penny. I love that from my phone I can limit the internet usage for my teenagers, even when I'm not home. I can check my speed anytime/anywhere from the app. This has to be some of the best technology on the market!. Was an Apple fan and love the ipads but the airport extremes never seemed to live past a year. After upgrading two years in a row, I decided to try something different. Best decision ever!

This app used to be amazing. Fast forward two years and configuring my mesh point with a new router is virtually impossible. The app is extremely laggy and it gets stuck on "configuring the mesh router". I got it to work with the 2.4ghz network but could not configure it to switch to the 5ghz without resetting so here I am on the 8th failure. Amazing product that fell from grace. Using Pixel 2.

App functions well and is laid out intuitively. I appreciate all the adjustments I'm able to tweak and the ease of use. The one thing that's lacking and a feature I would love is dark mode. Although it doesn't affect functionality I just think it would be a nice feature to have. I would also appreciate it if you would consider adding a break down of the usage meter to see how much data each device is using individually.

Really great product all around. Using the Amplifi HD product with 2 mesh points. One suggestion I have is to add a feature that allows you to click the mesh points and base unit icons to see what clients are connected to them instead of having to dive into the individual clients to view this information. Maybe even just a quick client dashboard that shows this info would be nice to see the overall distribution of clients across the mesh system and who they are talking to.

Cannot set static IP for the router in bridge mode, and you can't specify the port for the teleport from the Android app, you have to change it through the web app. Considering most settings are only available in the Android app this is a very odd thing to not include. Edit: This device should not be advertised as a router. It is a wireless access point. If you plan on building a network with this "router" you will be sorely disappointed.

I can't believe we're still waiting for landscape orientation... I guess basic functionality doesn't create profits

Overall a good device. But for $$$$ it is shocking some standard features are missing from the app! Like config backup & restore (majorly annoying), DHCP subnet setting, separate password for second wifi network name, better wifi band controls.... Very disappointing - for the premium price of the device, this app fails to provide a decent user experience.

Alright, first you MUST update your routers/APs if you want this app to work as well as it can. That said, profiles still needs work. The only way to remove one device from a profile is to delete the profile, readd the devices, and resetup their allowed times. I'd prefer a way to just remove the one device. Minus 1 star. On the plus side, their support team offers good help - even through Google reviews. Thanks for the help, updating the devices resolved the issue in the app.

Extremely clunky and slow. I'm using it to configure a standalone mesh point. The mesh point works extremely well once its configured but it look probably about a dozen tries with the app to get it going. App freezes while setting up the mesh point. This is on a Galaxy S8+

Requiring an app to adjust basic/any features is stupid, gimmicky, makes it feel like a toy, not a serious piece of equipment, & is problematic as you have to connect wirelessly; good luck if you change a setting & it won't connect. Idiotic design. *ALL* settings, incl reboot (also limited to the app only), should be accessible via the browser interface. Stop appifying everything. Guest wifi enabled & open by default, can only change in app & can't disable. Requires unneeded permissions to run.

This is a great app with one GLARING problem. There is no confirm dialog when you accidentally click the "Delete Profile" button. Pleasr add that functionally. The Delete Profile button is so big and easy to accidentally touch when distracted or tired or when my older children are accessing the app at specific times.

Could you please just add the ability to control how the mesh points connect. I know you claim it is determined for optimal performance by your algorithm, but there are cases where it get things wrong. My apartment is one of them.

ISP test in the remote management app simply does not work. I raised speed as an issue with my ISP, as I was getting similar speeds via WiFi compared to the reported speeds in the app. Turns out this isn't displaying anywhere near what is being reported at the ONT, so what is the point in having it? Simply embarrassing.

This app is a good companion to the AmpliFi WiFi Mesh system by Ubiquiti. I have a 2 story house with all types of IoT devices and 3 kids. Gives me control over my HOME Wifi. Before the system we were lucky to stream 2 or 3 services at once, now 7 or 8 is not a problem. plus guest network access is configured separate and it can be turn off or limited by app. - Must have purchased hardware, this is a access control app, not a standalone

Removing this App because I refuse to let a hardware router company collect personal details, internet and internal network traffic activity. Read the "privacy" policy that comes with their latest Android software update. Critically, there is no other way to manage the routers and mesh functionality without using the mobile device app, so your phone information is fair game now as well. I guess I am back in the market for a WiFi Mesh system. Google already collects activity details, but even they have Op Out provisions. EERO was bought by Amazon, but also has better privacy protections than Amplifi just pushed. I don't believe the Netgear and Synology systems do this type data collection at all, YET.

Wow! Finally I've found the best router on the market. Everyone knows dlink, tplink, linksys,... They are all old school and have not improved for many year. I just bought this item: AmpliFi HD Wifi Router by Ubiquiti Labs, Seamless Whole Home Wireless Internet Coverage, HD Wifi Router with Touchscreen Display, 4 Gigabit Ethernet, 1 WAN Port, Ethernet Cable, Expandable Mesh System. This item with the AmpliFi app is the best of the best in the world! Congratulations to all Ubiquity's team!

Once wifi setup was done, I now cannot access the router. The app keeps asking for password constantly....and still fails to login to router. The web address from computer to change router setting is useless, can't do much there. Please fix this why keep asking for password again and again?

This is the best router App I have ever used. I'm depressed because I had to switch to a 4G router and everything is 10 times more complicated or simply doesn't work. This was the apex of any router apps I have ever used and I miss it.

Trash app designed to steal your info. Why do I need an app install something for a PC? Because ubiquiti is a joke and their products should be pulled... So the response says to contact them so they can fix something but you still can't configure the device from a computer and it's extremely limited on the mobile app. $20 Noname routers are more configurable and faster then this waste of time and space.
