The Good: Works with a Samsung J3 using Android Oreo. Sound is clean and highly adjustable with many amp and pedal choices. The Bad: The program will not retain any settings when shut down. You must reset your amp and pedal settings every time you open the program. Very annoying. Especially if you found a great sound that takes a specific amp model and multiple pedals to achieve - which means 10 minutes of tweaking settings every time you open the program. Not cool.

I bought the irig2 supposed to be compatible with amplitube but I have an updated Galaxy S9 and soon as I plug it in it says I need need Lollipop 5.0 but I have no idea what that is or how to get it what a waste of 30 bucks. is this app obsolete or what ?? update the app or refund money. to anybody reading reviews get Tonebridge app 100 times. better thousands of pre sets set to the tond of certain songs or artists, just got it but the slash pre sets are bang on for the 4 songs I've tried

Works good for what it is, using my galaxy s6 and irig2. Not the best modelling but it gets the job done. I also figured out that if you use Samsung's music player you can play music and reopen amplitude to play along. This should be a feature in the app itself but atleast there's a loop hole. Originally I wrote a poor review but it seemed my irig was have interference with my air conditioner... a little strange but whatever.

Disclaimer,Im not a sound nerd. I get it... if I want perfect I'll need to invest in the real thing. I have a Samsung s6 and iRig2.Was I provided the 1st flatulent duck playing a kazoo preset- in that case IK nailed it. $40 for the iRig 2and $20 for the app. iRig 2 cant be compatible with the headphone input of the s6. Works well in my iPad. I think to be usable Android users will need to invest another $30 in a mini cable. So boo to Amplitube and iRig2.

Regularly turns into digital noise. Will not remain in low latency mode, switches over to middle latency randomly, which is even more digital glitches. I thought this would help me practice songs at home, but I can only run thru half a song before it becomes digitized noise. In app store doesn't appear to have any additional amplifiers or effects in it, so dialing in my sound is pretty much not happening. Not to mention, you must buy the app from the store before you can even use the unit bought.

OK after much mucking around. You may well need to go into Samsung Pro Audio settings on your phone so that it can relinquish control of USB audio to the Amplitude app through the iRig device. Without that setting all I was getting was stuff coming through the phone mic and nothing at all from the guitar end. Only took 4 hours and no help from the IK website, FAQ's etc. This thing is more plug and pray. 4 stars, it works well, WHEN you get it going.

I recently updated my samsungs s5 software to icecream and purchased the full version of amplitube having first tried the free version and loved it. However since changing to the full paid version, none of the presets are named, are lighting up green or are working properly. Can you please explain how i can remedy this problem.

2015-06-17 - Save your money. Presets don't work properly, no update since Dec 2014. After two emails IK finally responded that they're aware of the issue, yet this product does not appear to be supported. Paid $20 bucks for a broken app that makes for a poor user experience. EDIT: 2015-09-21 Still no update, after my first review they said a fix was in the works. This app is truly unsupported.

I seem to be having the same troubles as a lot of people with this app. Lots of crashes to the point where it won't load up and i have to reinstall and restart device, only for it to do the same. As well, all types of background noises, really distracting to say the least and presets are totally screwed. Using S5 phone paired with the Irig 2. It bummed me out because it seemed to be a great solution for Android users. Sadly it seems like its been like this from the start and there have been no fixes. Waiting to hear from support to see if im going to return the irig 2 and bail on the whole idea.

Really good, no regrets making this purchase. I'm mostly interested in the Marshall and Fender type amps, and they sound very pleasing. The modelling has nailed the character of those brands down to having to tame the spikiness of a twin reverb and coax the brittleness out of a jcm 800 as I would expect. Really like the octaver and tube screamer but would love a compressor! Note 4/iRig 2 with '86 USA Strat. Cheers!

Love this for when I'm at school and need to practice. Don't know how to control buzzing sound in background though other than that works good with my galaxy s6 with irig 2 would be cool if it recorded

Goj. S. Feb 24, 2017

Pretty average to be honest. It could use a few more cab sims and effects. The amp sims are fairly basic and dialling in a half decent tone takes a bit of work thanks to the limited tools. It barely gets the job done. Don't expect it to sound good.

I bought the rig 2 only to find out you have to pay $20 for the app. I could have bought a audio interface and used free pc software for the same price. Which would have yield better results. App works well but a deceptive shady move to make you buy device and app.

Worked great for about ten minutes. Then it started sounding like I threw my phone in the microwave. It's not the guitar (I have 6 and tried them all, active or passive makes no diff). It's not the cable (tried 3 brand new high quality cables, just for giggles ). Turned on airplane mode, and made sure to close all other apps. Samsung Galaxy Note 4. I will note that the most recent OS update has screwed up a wide variety functions. So maybe it's not IK'S fault. Either way, someone needs fix this!!!!!

Dar. S. Feb 26, 2015

Update: Don't waste your money on this until IK figures out some bugs. Spent $$$ buying irig HD and two different cables and after a week of using it, amplitube suddenly won't start anymore and the only response I've gotten from IK is to restart the phone and close apps. Just won't start up anymore. Galaxy note 4 with Irig HD. Worked a few days ago, now won't open. No changes to phone. Would be at least 4 1/2 stars. Update: your Man Daniel Losa stopped responding gave up on me told me to buy again

Sha. G. Feb 24, 2018

The app is way behind the iOS version, no content will load for in app purchases for extra effects and addons. Glad i got it half off for now. The app is complete garbage, don't waste your money on this version. So far i am dissapointed

Jes. t. Jun 19, 2016

Started out awesome then on crunch Channel you can't scroll the amp left or right. And now its crashed and will not work. Please fix of replace money. On uninstalled and reinstalled but still doesn't help.

Pie. C. Feb 15, 2016

You need your phone screen to stay open or the sound will stop. So you can't put it in your pocket and play. And it has to drain your battery.

Gre. M. May 19, 2015

I recently bought the iRig 2 hoping to have the flexibility of Amplitube on both platforms. The Android for Samsung Pro version works pretty well but it has not been updated in 5 months. Someone tell me if I wasted €20 Euro? Other than that the app is ok but way behind the iPhone version.

Kam. C. Sep 14, 2016

Like other users have said, crashes constantly. Don't waste your money on this

bry. A. Nov 28, 2016

Just like the title says. Every time I open the app and change any setting, it stops. It's been this way for a week. Don't waste your money paying for this. I'd like my money back since the app is completely unusable.

Jam. W. Aug 27, 2016

Irig2 connected to a galaxy s7 active using full version of amplitude hooked to a Gibson Les Paul. This combo should be gold. Would not work at all. Solved this by downloading the Samsung pro audio sdk from their site. Works like a champ now.
