Does as described. A helpful little app if you're fond of word games. Simple and straightforward, with just enough features to be great but not feel cluttered. Edit: More good things to say! I wanted to add that there's a robust filter feature where you can get really specific with which letters to include and where plus patterns and word length. Plus the ads are unobtrusive and, honestly, really fair given how good this free app is.
A useful cheat ap when struggling with crosswords. It would be helpful to have a few simple tools added like a 'clear' function to delete the previous template and a character count to tell me where I am in a long word. A new function to list all words of a specific length that can be made from a sequence would help a lot. But on the whole a very useful tool. Thank you.
This would be really, really excellent if not for one massive setback. It treats spaces the same as letters. Doesn't appear to have any option to change this, so for example if you have a jumble of letters with no space it will only return one word results. If you put in a person's first and last name separated by a space it returns exclusively 2 word results. There is no option for including all results regardless of the number of words. Please please please fix this!
Very nice, some words are not found in selected dictionary. This is not a criticism of AS because it is most likely the other programs deficiency. No problem.
I set default settings by mistake and app won't let me reset normal settings. Absolutely useless. Have uninstalled 3 times and it's still stuck on default settings.
Really useful for word puzzles & crosswords. I do a lot of cryptic crosswords (found in UK papers etc, though I do them online) and they often include anagrams. This picks up on even some rare or random words. I always have it open before I start, especially as I can't hold a pen easily these days. Easy to use, great GUI - clean and intuitive but also has good instructions. Absolutely recommend it!
Some words are not listed. Should be able to state where letters are known to be, rather than a straight alphabetical list
I love this app so much. It's been so helpful in solving my most loved puzzle game. Keep up the good works team Anagram Solver.
Whenever I get new hardware, this is one of the first apps I instal. I find it perfect for the Daily Express Crusader crossword and don't ever remember it letting me down. I think I've been using it for about 8 years and it has never crashed on me. You can also get definitions of the listed words.
It's good, but it gives you every permutation of the letters; whether they make sense or not. Also, unlike Anagram Genius, it doesn't (as far as I can see) allow you 'force' a solution by indicating which letters or words must be retained. But for a little app for a mobile it's really pretty good.
My partner and I use this app all the time but have reluctantly only given 3 stars, because of the unnecessary clutter of results that come with every search. I'm all for obscure words and expansive vocabulary, but when a search returns 5000 "words", roughly 4500 of which are barely more than random collections of letters that you then have to wade through, what COULD be a fantastic app just becomes massively irritating. And it's nothing that a little tighter quality control wouldn't solve.
A great app which I find very useful, especially when I get stuck in a word puzzle. It's never let me down.
I have been using this app for quite awhile and i must say it is one of the best apps for anagrams and word problems I have ever used. It has not failed me yet and if I was working I would definitely pay for the pro edition, but I am not so I will work with what I have. Still even the free edition doesn't have loads of ads and does the job for me. VHR (Very Highly Recommend)
Anagram Solver does not live up to what it claims. I am a writer who creates character names from real names, and I found the displayed results limited, and too much bound by the original input, i.e. same number of letters for first name and surname as the input... even after playing with the settings. I do better manually with Scrabble tiles.
Terrific app! Best part of this Anagram Solver is when you press and hold on any word to get links to all available definition sites (Google definition; Merriam-Webster, etc.) A-S is a great way to train your eyes to look for letter combinations and the dictionary links are unparalleled for learning new, unique, and odd words. :)
Really easy to use for sorting anagrams, dictionary meanings and spell checking. Also it doesn't bother you with useless ads. Absolutely great little app and well worth downloading
This is app is a contender for the title of 'best app i have ever downloaded'. It works great. The layout is logical and easy to use. It's incredibly well optimised. No adverts. Loads of options. I have literally 0 complaints.
This is arguably the best solver app ever. The look and feel is very similar to Crossword Solver King and that app too is astonishing. The only positive criticism that will take this app to 5stars is a filter that will enable the user to search words with letters in fixed positions in the middle of the word e.g. if the available letters are "ocean" then I would like a filter displaying word options suitable for "..c." when I get stuck. Edit: After a bit more play I decided to uprate it to 5 stars
Great app, but one significant thing is missing: a filter for proper names. Scrabble doesn't accept proper names, and at times, there are so many to wade through that it's really intrusive.
Very easy to use and nearly always comes up with an answer. I like the definition facility as sometimes I just don't understand the answer. (A cataract is a waterfall as well as an eye condition!)
Great app. Not only provides all possible solutions instantly. Gives all possible combinations of all or some of the letters indicating which ones are nit used. Also provides meanings. Should hv an option to indicate number of words to be formed out of the letters
This is a very easy app to use. The words are arranged from the largest to the smallest in a column which makes finding a word very simple. And the words are in a font and size that I do not find difficult to read.
Use to be good but it must have become corrupted...it never behaved like this before!?!...now its possessed. I put in 'roseng?' and was told there were '0' matches??? then i tried * for blanks but i got a string of 12 letter words with letters from everywhere!?! I have deleted this app. I have decided to try reinstalling hoping it'll work.
Mostly American usage words, spellings and slang. Too many others not allowed.
This is indeed one of the best Apps I've seen. Well-done guys and of course Thank you!!!
I've been using this app for 2 years now and thus far, it's the only one easy to use and understand how to operate.
Been using this app for over a year now, and so far my experience has been very satisfactory. It's very easy to use, albeit a bit cluttered (the UI that is) thanks to the ads. But it's great. Totally recommend.
Non-invasive ads. Works. Could gave a simpler interface, for example blanks require "+" which isn't on a typical phone keyboard first screen... Blank should be space or "."
