AncestryDNA - Genetic Testing

Absolute garbage. What happened to this company? This used to be good. Can't sign in on the desktop and very slow to load on the app. For the app I have to continually switch from wifi to cellular service. Ridiculous. But there's no problem signing up for a new subscription.

Buggy and badly designed Android version. I only yesterday discovered a reply from a connection from 3.5 years ago! In my attempt to reply back, the app got stuck with half my message written so had to delete and reinstall it. Other parts of the app are buggy as well, particularly in the 'history' sections where no info about your ancestral areas comes up. Very disappointed

App works fine for me. It's relatively simple to use. I have little need to use it, however. spent $100 on the kit for it to give me results that haven't updated. Like at all. My family has had multiple updates a month in the last year we've gotten it. Guess I'm just the lucky person who got 100% accuracy. Bit of a disappointment in that department.

There are bugs. The map no longer highlights the regions (other than settlers in US) from other countries. When I try and look up stories it states not found. When it highlights someone from your tree on the map you can tap on them, but no way to return to the original map. I have to close app and reopen to get back. Apparently these bugs have been around or not fixed since the last update looking at other comments. Please fix

long story short was told by their agent that they received my sample & it was being processed one month after I sent it, I waited another month for results & today I was told they never got my sample (even tho the site said in progress) so now I have to wait for a replacement kit, over 2 months into anticipating results & nothing! What a headache, not excited anymore just going along with it cuz I bought it thru Amazon & can't get a refund, my family got their results in less than a month

Results were very accurate to what I've found in my family tree, but the new update seems like they just selected a bunch of random percentages in random countries. My results almost completely changed and not at all accurate to what I've found in my family tree on ancestry. My father's side is almost completely German, but my results went from 32% German to 5%. How's this work?

Absolutely terrible app. Doesnt scan, nor allow you to manually enter the barcode on my Znote3. A product which cannot be used.

App doesnt work! I installed it a week ago and it worked fine. Now it won't load search results or even let me message someone. Sad to know that I have to use website instead of app.

Great app and service but the latest update to the DNA metrics totally broke something.... I'm half French and half British and the latest update made me almost entirely British overnight....

I just did the recent update and now the information on my relatives that I have not been able to contact tells me something went wrong and to tap to retry. Still won't work after a week. Otherwise,it's been great

Update broke the app. I have paid for traits and it asks me for $20 again and won't let me see them. Its kind of a bummer when you pay for something and can't use it when your are showing fast members. Also the communities do nothing now when you click in then.

Good idea, but you guys charge so much for a membership, that no one is going to pay past their free trial, meaning you can't message others because they are not going to pay that much just to respond to a message.

Very buggy and frustrating app. UI is not intuitive, ethnicity estimate presentation is incomplete and when opening a region some don't open at all and remain dark. You are far better off exploring your DNA results from Ancestry in your device's web browser. I am a pretty reasonable person and usually happily work through an apps shortcomings but this truly is a frustrating app.

I was in the middle of messaging a long lost cousin and the messaging feature became unuseable. Needed to log into the web app, and the password reset was almost as big of a nightmare. Need to work on your UX and make sure the messaging feature isn't loaded with bugs.

Shocking. Hasn't worked for 12 months. Message l get when l hit My Profile : 'There is a problem. Try again later' it says. Nearly 12 months later I'm still trying ! No response from Tech Team but, they're 'looking In to it'. 👎

I can't sign in because the message said access was denied because... and the app flashed off to another screen. The app has my bank info!!! It did not say why access was denied, so can you help asap?

I find the DNA relatives part is excellent. But the ancestry part seems off on the regions, I think this part needs work. Overall a fairly good app

Unable to open the links in the ethnicity tab. Only shows ancestors from US in the map. Main reason to have the app is this feature.

It was working good for a while , but now it's acting up Bad can't upload pictures or send messages to relatives ! Moves slow also !

Since update on April 4, no longer able to open matches. Error repeatedly flashes could not load data, please try again...retry. please fix!

So many things don't work like they should. Can't get anything to print. Most of the time messages don't go through. Trying to look at the documents is a joke, they never show.

The app is okay, however it does keep jumping back to the beginning.. so when you have spent hours going through over 500 distant relatives, it jumps back to the start and this is very frustrating. I have yet to even go through each distant cousin because of this. Same thing happens when you look at a cousins profile, you go back to list and again it has gone back to start. This is very annoying and even worse for someone like myself who has high fucntioning autism... Please can you fix this.

Thank you so much for finally getting Northern Italy on board! Love the new update and seeing more accurate results finally that represent my paternal family. Well done :)

App is USELESS! Just received kit this morning and "trying" to activate code. Don't bother attempting a scan - it doesn't work. Entering the activation code manually, it comes back with message that it's an invalid code. Save your money. It isn't worth the hype.

Terrible experience, gotta pay 25 bucks to turn it off. Never using this junk again. DNA test didn't even yield anything interesting.

I went from excited to use Ancestry DNA to being very disappointed with it. After several updates since I initially started it I still can't trust that the results I'm getting are reliable. This is especially true when I see some ethnicities come and go like fashions that are very shortly in style, except it's supposed to be my background. Now my DNA results say one thing, but when I compare my DNA results to other people even my own results differ from what it says on the main ethnicity page.

As soon as I load up the app on the homepage it says: page not available or unable to load

1) Messaging doesn't work in this app. And the trouble shooting consists of referring customers to Google Troubleshooting, which won't help. 2) The map is pretty cool but has no key to discern/garner any more quantitative information. So the customer is left making very broad assumptions. 3) They really do not care about reviews so I'm changing my 3 to one staarr. 4) robo response to reviews.
