Amazing that an app abandoned for so long is still light years best than All others here! And I tried all of them, and they all have critical issues. Andchat still the best even with some of its small issues. On Android 6.0.1. No battery issues for me, no disconnections, no issues that could make it unusable so far.
Loving the app so far! The only thing I'd like to see added is the ability to create user defined color themes. A stock Holo light theme would be a welcome addition as well.
Runs rock solid every day for years now on several phones. Love that reduced interface, and the possibility to define additional highlight words, found no other to replace. Battery load very low, also (but never deactivate the "channel tabs" on Lollipop). Dear developer: what can we do to make you continue development? Donate again?
I love this irc client. I've tried several and this one works the best. Alas, it is no longer being supported, which is a darn shame.
Irc is a simple protocol, and AndChat is a simple program. I spend a lot of time on irc because of a play by email rpg I'm involved in, and this app lets me stay involved on the go.
Does exactly what it is supposed to do. Can't praise it enough over other android IRC clients I tried out.
Definitely worth the donation, I've enjoyed using AndChat more than the other (free or paid) clients I've tried on Android (nothing on iOS or WinPhone comes even close).
Such a great app I thought I would donate. My only complaint is that I can't set up channel message notifications, but other than that I have no complaints. Simply the best IRC app for Android.
App is easy to use even for those who aren't very familiar with irc. Thanks for making communication easier!
Could do with better nick completion (requires a drag to action bar and multiple taps), but otherwise stable and great to use.
Pretty upset about the fact that they abandoned the original listing. Screwed my backups in Google. Not happy about this.
Only criticism is that nick search button/tab doesn't work. Once that is fixed, definitely a 5-star irc app.
I have one suggestion to this wonderful app, could the notification icon be changed from something other than a white square? Other than that, no complaints whatsoever, keep up the great work!
What else can be said... Works super well, and i chose to purchase the donate version, even though the free version is exactly the same, just to support such a great app. That should speak volumes about the quality!
Does what it says on the tin, no fuss.
After using the free version for many years (exact same program, no limitations) I finally decided to donate to the coder. It's a very good IRC app, better than quite a few desktop ones and definitely among the best mobil IRC clients. Supports all important thimgs in IRC, like joining using SSL with a server pw or even SASL. Can even run auto-commands after join. Definitely my favourite mobile IRC client.
Works great but if you close your keyboard before turning your screen off the channel will scroll to the top rather than staying at the bottom.
But on cyanogenmod13 android 6, the notification icon is a blank white square....
Worthy of a donation!
Save your money! Complete garbage!
Needs a way to copy chat text
Could you add nickserve identify settings please? It would be convenient.
Well worth the donate :-)
Best android irc client
I use this app on my tablet and it serves me well for the various chat rooms I'm in. Keep up the nice work.
Love this client. Top notch.
Been a very long time user and with this latest version I just had to donate. :)
Using on Nexus 10 and love it. Tried all in the market, and I like this one the best.
It's an app I use constantly. Worth the donation.
I tried the free version of this, and it was stunningly easy to use and set up. No ads or anything even though it was free. I saw the author had a donate version of it, so I figured as a thank you for making such a fine, functional app available for free, I had to purchase the "donate" version. The author didn't withhold features or put in ads or other spammy nonsense to try to bother us for our money, and so by NOT doing that, he earned mine and I'd very much encourage anyone else who enjoys the free version to get this one as well. The good, "non-confrontational" app authors are the rare ones out there and they're the ones we need to be supporting. My three bucks is now yours!
